  1. The official website has just posted about the Happy Swing, stating it will be 'near the Ravine Flyer 3' when it is installed. This picture (courtesy of kennywood007) appears to show where the ride will be. See that square of grass in the top center-left? Looking at Bing maps, that space more or less matches the dimensions of this ride as listed on Zamperla's site. Typical Waldameer installation, once again using every square inch!
  2. Interesting to hear...not the 'thrill' ride they claimed earlier in the year, but it's still good to see the park adding a ride in addition to all those improvements. Any clues as to where they'll be putting this one?
  3. The Racer's original trains were actually products of Edward Vettel, who also built the Jack Rabbit trains. PTC has made some four-bench cars, though...the only operating ones left that come to mind are on Blackpool's Big Dipper.
  4. Maybe it's just me, but I think he meant the one on the right.
  5. The removal has just been confirmed by the Tribune-Review: http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/dailynewsmckeesport/s_756913.html
  6. If you lived on the west coast, it'd be worth the trip. Not to sound biased or anything, but...
  7. It appears they're replacing Pandemonium to put this in...am I seeing it right?
  8. Can't judge a ride by its logo, but based on this one's logo and all the work being done to make it new again (especially the color scheme), I have to say this is looking very good for an Invertigo indeed.
  9. The standard CGI renders have been released to Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXU2M3ni3ck
  10. Look, Chris! It's another REAL space shuttle!
  11. Jack Rabbit (1921) and Pippin (1924) at Kennywood...essentially mirror images of each other, except the Pippin had bigger drops and the station was positioned differently. Obviously it doesn't apply anymore, but...
  12. Am I the only one who thinks the turn radius on those track pieces looks too small for it to be a wingrider?
  13. I have been in the valley that Kennywood was looking at. I'm not sure if the sale was ever completed, but the warehouses and other buildings used to be a maintenance facility for a local railroad servicing the steel industry. While it still runs, the warehouses have been abandoned for decades. It is a pretty creepy place to be, but you never know what Kennywood might be able to do with it. The main issue would likely be getting guests into and out of the valley, as there is an elevation difference of over 100 feet.
  14. I could have sworn there was a thread in this forum that had just about every custom ride, trainer, path, etc. for RCT2, but several different attempts to search for it have yielded nothing...anyone know what happened to it?
  15. I believe there were a LOT of ideas they came up with before finally settling on the Pippin (which was essentially a mirror image of the Jack Rabbit, only larger) to become the T-Bolt. I remember reading that demolishing the Racer was briefly considered, and building a coaster that utilized one of its lift hills. The park also worked with John Allen to plan an out-and-back ride along the hillside the train runs along, but Allen said there wouldn't be enough room without removing the train and a *very* large amount of pavilions, which were absolutely vital to the park's survival back then...they still play an important role today.
  16. Hey, when it's announced, we're sure to get some sort of CGI render or something. That path running along the Comet is also something we haven't heard of yet...do you suppose it'll be open to guests or just for employees?
  17. Kennywood's Pastime building (the tall one near the Racer that has the laser show projected on it) was originally built to have a dark ride on the second floor much like Ghostwood (then the Gold Rusher). Even though the Exterminator was eventually realized in 1999, it had been planned for almost a decade prior and was originally going to use what is now Idlewild's mouse.
  18. You don't know how often I check for new screens in this thread. This is without a doubt the best park I've seen in RCT2!
  19. Just a quick question, which I don't think has been answered yet... when Windseeker was originally going to replace the observation tower, it was going to have a big K on top of it as a homage. Since it was moved and the other tower is staying, will Windseeker still have a K?
  20. Very awesome! I need to start working on my RCT2 version again...
  21. The logic alone behind the following claim makes this dumb even if you aren't an enthusiast. The other day, I was getting on the Swingshot when the guy next to me became worried because his lapbar wasn't locking in place. This was, of course, because the ops were still letting people onto the ride, but he made so much of a fuss that people on the other side got obnoxious as well. What took the cake was when he said, "If I die, I'm suing you guys!" Now how exactly do you plan to do that?
  22. There is a very promising video on Knoebel's Facebook page...
  23. Very nice work...the coaster bears more than a passing resemblance to Ravine Flyer II, which is a good thing.
  24. Sounds like they need to hire more handymen or organize them better to me.
