  1. Sort of, but if you're a fan of classic dark rides (especially Bill Tracy designs) the inside is quite the sight to see.
  2. Makes you wonder what the park will do with the RCT-esque hot dog place. If I recall, that's a fairly recent addition. Unless it's movable, I'm surprised how briefly it was there.
  3. I note that Cedar Fair (probably as a result of their original intent to sell the park) has a far more limited CGI rendering than most of their parks. When, say, CP or KD gets something, nearly every major structure is rendered onto the map, no matter how close or far away they are from the subject new ride. Here, we only have Gold Striker's immediate surroundings. Not a complaint by any means, I just think it's funny. The ride itself looks like some of the GCI goodness we've come to expect. I don't foresee being able to ride it in the near future, but it does look fun.
  4. And Pony Express has to be the best coaster in the park. Totally a better, more worthwhile investment than Xcelerator. Should have kept Windjammer.
  5. I do remember seeing a newspaper article about a week ago saying they did get the license, but figured to open the garden next season. The park did have an Oktoberfest setup around this time last year at the stage area, so perhaps that will take place at the beer garden this year instead.
  6. The first six-seater ride (as far as Six Flags goes, anyway) that comes to mind is Dare Devil Dive...just my two cents.
  7. That's a new one! Gotta love the rumors you hear sometimes.
  8. I can understand Boulder Dash being high maintenance, but being in the Kennywood chain, it always baffled me how they seem to have so many issues with the Wildcat, from closures like this to just being overall rough. Kennywood and Idlewild take fantastic care of their wooden coasters, and for being in the same chain since 1996, you'd think the Lake would do the same for Wildcat.
  9. ^^They're all better than the one at Movieland Studios. But I digress.
  10. Unless it's a different area I'm thinking of, Kiddy Kingdom is basically right by DT, so they may both refer to the same thing. But still, the use of "they" does interest me nonetheless.
  11. Well, look what SFOT just put on their Facebook page... And their website: Six Flags over Texas website
  12. I suppose this thread is also okay for weird guests actions, not just what they say. This was the Jack Rabbit queue about an hour ago. Two rows of people squashed into one row of queue line? Nobody sees the "up" section, I guess.
  13. Stealth and Carolina Cyclone come to mind, but they aren't quite as colorful as whatever this is.
  14. ^^This. I'm surprised CP isn't giving Space Spiral the AtmosFear treatment. Sure, they have Power Tower, but they previously also had Demon Drop, and Liseberg already had a Space Shot and a Turbo Drop (not as part of the same structure like Power Tower, no less) prior to converting their observation tower. Of course, Space Spiral isn't an Intamin ride, but it could probably still be done.
  15. Wow! Great to hear all the info about what's going on at Waldameer! One thing though, where do they put the second L. Ruth Express train when only one is used? I'd imagine they added a storage track somewhere, and have been curious as to where it might be since the tunnel can only store one.
  16. I know they initially wanted to save Black Diamond for after this ride, and obviously, it's open now, so I'd imagine it's on its own track.
  17. If I had to guess, I'd say the train is shuttled backwards up the first lift, then sent through the course. When it gets to the second lift, I'm thinking it might go around a second time, and then either go backwards or just come into the station from the top (using the lift tires as brakes). The lift directly behind the station does appear much steeper than the other one...
  18. I've never had anything taken from me, but entering work once I did have to explain what my keychain flash drive was.
  19. Now I know this has been brought up multiple times, but if you had suggested Viper get that treatment...
  20. Well, I got to ride Skyrush three times yesterday. What an experience! Definitely my top steel now in spite of the pain you get from the lapbars, which I really didn't find to be much of a problem. By the way, the "noodles" are gone from the lap bars now. If the plastic portion of the bar was parallel with your legs rather than being at such an odd angle, I really don't think it would hurt at all. Maybe we'll see a change for next season. I don't recall very well how comfortable SDL's old trains were, but I quite liked the new ones.
  21. Perhaps they need to check where their mechanics are and either hire a new one or consider organizing them better.
  22. ^Does that include the other remains of the park? Looking at Bing Maps, there appears to be at least one flat ride still on the premises.
  23. There's more where that came from! Whoever runs KI's Facebook page, be it the GM, PR director, or someone else, they are awesome.
