  1. The Wave Swinger is dismantled every winter.
  2. You can now choose between the ground-level Eclipse cam and the one on Fritt Fall on Grona Lund's website. Here is the Fritt Fall cam. It's hard to imagine that Eclipse will soon be extending off the top of the screen here!
  3. The Fritt Fall webcam has been replaced in favor of a ground view look at construction: Once construction on the tower has risen out of frame, it wouldn't surprise me to see them switch back to the Fritt Fall cam or even a new one. It also appears that the park is going to use its space to the fullest again...wonder what all they'll manage to fit beneath the loading platform (assuming it is indeed elevated as it currently appears).
  4. Litter is bad enough, but when you have that many trash cans...
  5. ^The Facebook comment is on the Magic Mountain page. My guess is the poster thinks the MM Batman and the GA Batman are one and the same.
  6. I wonder if the top gaps will be filled. I know they serve a practical purpose for the time being, but there don't appear to be any bolt connections to check once construction is done. I have no qualms with the bottom gaps remaining.
  7. ^Both, actually. Iron Shark debuted Gerstlauer's 8-seater cars with lapbars only, and S&S will debut 4-seater lapbar cars on the Angry Birds El Loco opening at Happy Valley. They had a car from it displayed at IAAPA.
  8. I always appreciate a park that creatively use space to its full extent, but there are times where it doesn't seem to work. Take Sequoia Adventure at Gardaland. I've never been there, so I hate to criticize based on photos alone, but being surrounded on all sides by Magic Mountain, it really looks odd.
  9. Not to steal any thunder from this new ride, but someone posted this on Silverwood's FB... And, unlike most parks that would ignore a comment like this, Silverwood liked it...
  10. ^That literally JUST happened about a week ago to a friend of mine!
  11. Makes plenty of sense. The bordering go kart area (which was also removed) would be an ideal location for the station of the ride, as well as to devote an actual queue area rather than the one SoB had that was just sort of "there" on the path to Flight Deck.
  12. I wondered about the barnstormer. When I saw it, I looked all over Zamperla's website but it's not there (probably discontinued). So getting a used one makes sense. The major ride looks insane!
  13. For the RCT fans out there... You know you all did this as a kid...
  14. Here's the photo if anyone wanted to see it. The park specifically mentions that the land seen across the road from the site was what they purchased.
  15. ^The park's FB page has posted pictures of work being done with Grizzly...though some of the captions erroneously refer to it as Gold Striker!
  16. Add me to the Skooters bandwagon...there simply are no bumper cars to top them. Best ones other than that? For me, I'd have to say Conneaut's bumper cars. They do hit pretty hard, although the floor is pretty uneven. I'll give Dutch Wonderland a shout-out too, even though I haven't been there since 2002. My least favorite (that I've been on) have to be the ones at Waldameer. They're made by Ninja, who also provided the cars for Delgrosso's dodgem ride. Said cars move significantly faster than the ones at Waldameer. Also, the floor isn't really big enough for the amount of cars they have available.
  17. A Zamperla Crazy Sub, by the looks of it. Wonder where this will go.
  18. Knoebels has just posted the following question on their Facebook page: Let the rumors fly! Based on the fact that any coaster that tall would travel much faster than 47 mph, something is telling me it might be a drop tower.
  19. Would a Stingray meet Silverwood's capacity needs? Not sure how many guests they get any given day, but a single 8 rider train doesn't seem like much.
  20. Yes, but it does slightly turn to the right.
  21. Footers for Coastline Plunge's extra slides have existed since it was built, IIRC. A look at Google Street View shows the landing pool for the complex. I remember seeing up close photos of this pool long ago, but I'm not sure if it was here, or on another site. Anyway, the fence with the signs on it dead center is not permanent, and the wooden floor behind it covers up exit stairs. If I had to guess, I'd say the ending of the other slide (along with one next to Riptide as A.J. pointed out) would be directly beyond this removable fence, between the tall footer and the Coastline Plunge sign. Having preparations made for future slides such as this seems to be common in waterparks, but actually having them installed years later doesn't seem to happen very often. With the traffic the Boardwalk gets, it's definitely understandable.
  22. In response to this photo posted by Cedar Point: Official caption: GP:
  23. Marineland still has one as far as I know, but it did not operate this season.
  24. If they really wanted to, it doesn't look like it would be difficult to re-develop the area next to Gatekeeper behind the midway games, with a path going between the old Space Spiral area and the large empty spot to the left of Ocean Motion.
