Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread
Moose replied to BDG's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While this may not be extreme, it is a damn impressive rude that will be fast smooth and floaty! I'm also impressed by the fact that b&m have been going outside of their comfort zone. First the wingwallets, now this! -
Canada's Wonderland Discussion Thread

Being a sea monster and all, I didn't think a Leviathan would have feet, nevermind a few extra. -
This is the most important step. Remember the "celebrities" are there to enjoy themselves with friends; tagging along can make the meeting go from good to awkward very quickly.

Why is there a question mark after zombies? Even the CDC has emergency preparation for zombie invasion. I always keep a supply of canned food and water on hand. I need to rotate some of the stuff out bit it's better than nothing. I admit I am completely I'll prepared for zombies, I have very little weaponry.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

It's too bad the park couldn't have done something like that. Interesting new train layout. I hope the shake found on furious bacon's wings has been solved. -
Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

Last year during my first ever visit to the park (during the MidAmerica trip) Wildebeast easily had the longest line I saw all day. Granted it was hot as hell and a brand new ride, but people seemed to love it, including every TPR peep I was with. I am sure the reaction to this will be the same. My only gripe is I wish it itertangled with Wildebeast next door, though it does do quite a few crossovers with itself. I also hope they plant more trees in the water park. Paula, do you prefer riding these water coasters over the dry ones? -
^VERY depressing, but great film. Has anyone seen the touring production of Mary Poppins? It's coming through the area early next yearr and I am trying to decide if I should get tickets.

^ I can't believe you would watch it!

I'm not a big fan of Mantis, but then again, I'm not a huge fan of any stand-up coaster. For me they cause more knee pain than they are are worth -
Most Overrated coaster?
Moose replied to BlackWidow's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Th13teen It was a really fun ride but way overhyped by the park. -
Official RCT/RCT2 Help Thread
Moose replied to Stoksy's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
I am looking at buying RCT2 after seeing some of the great parks on here and not being able to find my copy. My question to the TPR hive mind: should I bother with the expansions? If I remember correctly, I never bought them since they seemed like crap. Is this the case? -
The only difference is Charter Members are people who signed up when ClubTPR first started. You can no longer become a charter member.

All your pictures are in focus, centered, and the captions make sense. False advertising on worst report ever.

Canobie Lake Photo TR! Great Day at the Park...
Moose replied to xmichellex's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Thanks for the great trip report. When I was there a few weeks ago, it seemed like a nice park, but the awful weather stopped the park from really shining. I apparently also missed a few sections of the park. -

This was amazing. I never knew vegetarians could be so funny. -
This place was very hot when we went as part of the TPR Spain trip. They loaded the log flume with as many people as could fit in a boat, I think I remember seeing 7 in a log. I also remember lots of hot, wet, Spanish men stripping to cool off. I love Spain.

^FPS and me are never a good thing, I always end up stuck in corners, which is what happened in that game. I just begrudgingly started playing Rift. It's not bad, but it seems to be missing something. I like the rifts, but the questing seems really boring and there are WAAAAAYYY too many spec options.

I *think* its an issue of foundation vs. steel cost. I assume connecting the columns like this causes far fewer and far less complicated footings to be required since the forces are distributed more evenly. As far as bolting vs rubber pads, my guess is that its a thermal expansion thing. How did you like the coaster? Were they still doing the "First Rider Club" on Sunday?

Canobie Lake Park Discussion Thread
Moose replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Today Canobie Lake Park let UNTAMED loose and Theme Park Review was there to cover it for you! This wild coaster is one of only four Euro Fighters in the US and the only in the Northeast. The coasters' 97 degree first drop makes it one of the steepest in the country. The coasters' cars are a custom design with a roaring grizzly on the front. POV Video! Canobie Lake Park opened early on this VERY wet Saturday for the ribbon cutting of their newest coaster, UNTAMED, the fourth in their collection. Located in the redone Big Bear Plaza with a rustic "Adirondack" style and numerous carved bears and other woodland creatures. The buildings and landscaping look beautiful, but I was there for one thing... A sign picture for Larry. I jest (sort of). The park did a great job with the area, this is the one of the nicest stations I've ever seen for a coaster. Here you can see how badly it was raining. As stated above, the trains have a ferocious looking grizzly on the front. For media day, one of the grizzlies was outfitted with a camera, but unfortunately the rain was so severe, it couldn't be used. After a brief ribbon cutting ceremony, the park opened the coaster ... in the POURING RAIN. The first train climbs the vertical lift. Another look at the beautiful station and the awful rain. The first drop (through the trees) Up up up up up... The Loop! The Immelmann! Inline Roll Unfortunately I didn't get a great picture of the helix. It's a great ride and a great addition to the park. Everyone that came off it seemed extremely happy (and very wet)! Congrats to Canobie for running a great event and for the assured success of UNTAMED! Roar!
