  1. Looking at the company website, Park Reunidos has 10 zoos and aquariums listed so it's not like running this zoo would be foreign to them. I've been to most of their parks but never a zoo/aquarium, has anyone experienced one?
  2. Watching those videos reminds me of tiding the FreeFall at Rocky Point as a kid. I was absolutely terrified of it, but loved it at the same time. I still love the mechanics of these rides.
  3. ^ I don't think i could ever take my mom to pride... but then again, I haven't been to pride in years. Pat of that is I tend to be on Awesome TPR trips in June
  4. This definitely looks like it could have a drop portion like Th13teen. It will be waaaay more appropriately themed.
  5. Boulderdash at Lake Compounce. It wasn't as fast as last time thanks to the cooler temps but it still gives amazing night rides.
  6. Yes, you only wait once. The maze is divided into different sections but you walk right from one into the next. The other thing is when you buy your ticket you also sign up for a time. At your time you show up and then wait in a short line, sort of like fastpass. For us it was only a fifteen minute wait, but we were at the start of the night so I don't if it backs up more as the night goes on. It really is a great setup.
  7. Happy National Coming Out Day! Anyone care to tell their story? Or if you're like me, one of their stories since I didn't come out all at once. The most meaningful and scariest for me was my father. I had already told my mother and sister (on separate occasions) but still needed to tell my dad. I wanted it to be special so I waited until we were sailing back from Martha's Vineyard and stopping for the night at one of my favorite places on Earth: Cuttyhunk. It's an island of sand and rock that is still fairly remote, no hotels, two ferries a day, very few actuall cars. In retrospect it was a very risky location. If things had t gone well we would have been forced to be together no matter what. But things didn't go badly. At sunset, I told him and he was absolutely touched that I chose to do it there.
  8. Nemesis being faded actually fits with its theming far better if it were shiny.
  9. ^Agreed. I wish I could have gone this year. Two years ago was probably my favorite vacation ever! I hope you guys have a great time. Elissa, are you going to let Piers cut your hair again this year?
  10. Thanks for the great update and happy birthday I loved this park when I visited it with TPR. I too found Baco to give a very different ride depending on if you sat inside or out. I found it almost unridable on the outside. The sesame area looks like a wonderful addition; it reminds me of The Seuss area of IOA Did you do any of the Halloween stuff?
  11. Those are some great pictures. Thanks for sharing that find! This coaster really looks awesome. It has great interactions with it's neighboring attractions and it looks like the queue winds all around it which will allow some great views.
  12. Great update Chuck. These events really seem more and more like cookie cutter events. Still fun though.
  13. I went to Lake Compounce's event The Haunted Graveyard on Saturday. While the maze is great and incredibly long there were a few missteps. First the line to get tickets was painfully slow. I think it's due to the lack of signage explaining the ticket options. The line would move along then get stuck for ten minutes on one patron. There was also no signs in the park as to where the Haunt was. I had a few random guests ask me if I knew where it was and I knew only because Ive seen it on google maps. Overall a great time and night rides on Boulderdash is a great way to end the season
  14. A bunch of us went to Spooky World last year. The drive there brings us literally right by Canobie so I was wondering how they compare. I'd probably prefer Canobie but I doubt I could get my friends to go to theess scary one. Thanks for the info!
  15. Would you consider this gaunt worth the full admission price ( as opposed to what you paid ). How would you compare it to nearby Spooky World?
  16. ^Especially since it is supposed to be a great weekend weather wise!
  17. ^I'm Jealous of both. I'll most likely be heading to Compounce this Saturday for the Haunted Graveyard.
  18. This morning I heard a radio ad for the park. It was advertising buy three season passes, get one free and free parking if you processed the passes before the en of the season. Not a bad deal. What was interesting was the promo for their new coaster: "Goliath, the Dive Coaster" Yep, apparently a giant inveryed boomerang is now a dive coaster.
  19. I'm in exactly the same situation.
  20. Hershey has stated that this was unprecedented flooding. While they do get semiregular flooding I think that both the speed at which the flooding occured and it's depth are a first for the park and zoo.
  21. Olympia Looping is clearly the best, but i also love Alpina Bahn.
  22. ^^ I didn't tell you that you should go, I said I want to go to China.
  23. My 2011 list is SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than 2010's since I did three TPR trips last year and none this year. But anyway: Canobie Lake Park Six flags New England HersheyPark Knoebels and next weekend I'll add Lake Compounce (for Ok'Boulderfest)
  24. ^Welcome Back!
  25. ^i can second the fact that Eric's answer is the answer Elissa and Robb would give. I'm looking at both China trips if I can swing it.
