Great TR, and it looks like you had a great time. The photos of MM and Thunderhead are some of the best I've seen(well all your photos were great), and the jokes were pretty good. Dollywood looks like an amazing park, and Mystery Mine looks great in its' location, and the park gets better every time I see it. I can't believe that kid was climbing on the roof of the building, and if that happened at SFGAM, the kid would have been kicked out.

New Gerstlauer Spinner- Update
Airtime&Gravity replied to Calaway Park's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ Could you please resize the photo as it doesn't even fit on my screen? thanks This should be a fun coaster, and it looks a lot better than I previously thought. I love these spinning coaster designs, and it is nice to see all these great custom layouts instead of a wild mouse with spinning cars. I really want to see this when finished to see how it goes around the other rides in the park. -
While it was better with the inversion, replacing it with a small hill like what was done should give some decent airtime. Sorry if already asked, but was the inversion removed because of what happened last year, or was it just SF reworking a coaster?(Cyclone-SFNE, Texas Cyclone, Rattler, etc.) I don't see what the big problem is as the ride is not ruined by this, all that happened was one element was replaced by another.

In less than a month SFGAM opens, and I can't wait to ride a coaster again for the first time since October. -

Kvasten-Gröna Lund's new coaster.
Airtime&Gravity replied to Tobias94's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I really like the layout of this, and the new trains look alto better than I originally thought. Hopefully this coaster is as smooth as it looks, and hopefully more custom layouts are built over here. -
Cedar Fair: Cedar Fair this year is building large coasters at CP, VallyFair, KI, and KBF.(well that one is small), but have seemed to forgotten the other parks in the chain. While the previously mentioned parks get a new thrilling attraction, the others get a Panda Express and new bathrooms. While there is nothing wrong with adding new coasters, the other parks deserve more than just new bathrooms. Parks like MiA and GA would benefit greatly from new thrill rides, but nothing is being done. Six Flags: 2007 is the first year that the new management gets to decide the new attractions and really turn the chain around. It is great to see the company focus on families again, but with the high prices, I think many would rather take their money to Disney or another park that focuses on families/ young kids. I know SF has a debt of two billion, but most people with kids don't want to spend $60 for a ticket to a park that will probably still be run by the thrill seeking groups of teenagers. If SF wanted to bring families in, they should take a look at CF or other parks. If SF decided to have 25 cent cotton candy like CF or free soda like other parks, it would show they want families. While admission and food bring in nearly all the money to the company, loosing money now might make money later. SFGAM: Six Flags Great America: Six Flags Great America is continuing to add family attractions this year with Wiggles World, which will be the parks third kiddie area, a new stunt show, a Ben & Jerrie's, and a Cold Stone. The park will also bring the Q-bot system to the park, and there is even talk about bringing more characters to the park. The park will also have a new parade, fireworks show, and a Johnny Rockets where Wascals once was. It is great to see Six Flags investing so much at SFGAM this year, and these new investments will only make the park better. While I am still waiting for SFGAM to build a dark ride, I think one will be built within the next two years with a new coaster coming within five. The parks are starting to open up for 2007, and while some are building large multi-million dollar coasters, some are focusing on families. Post your comments on the companies, parks, and rides for 2007. Who is doing the right thing, and who made a big mistake The Wiggles World will be a great addition, but with the price of a ticket, I think parents will have a difficult time paying $25 for a childrens ticket when they can take their kids to a cheaper park were almost all the rides cater to the same age group.(Kiddieland) I'm not saying this is a bad idea, as the Wiggles are are popular TV show, and there are parents who will pay the $25 to get their kid's picture with one of the characters. The new stunt show is a great addition as it is a different show than the Chinese acrobat shows found at many other parks. This should be popular with all the guests as it sounds like a show that anyone can enjoy. Six Flags is also switching over to the Q bot system to replace flash pass. I hope this means that there will also be single rider lines, but it is still great that the park is switching to the new system. I don't know much about this system, so please post what you know about it. All I know is that it is $20, and that it can be used on more rides. Maverick: This is a great addition for CP, and while a thrill ride, many younger kids will be able to enjoy it.(unless CF puts a high height restriction on it) It is nice to see this coaster getting decent themeing, and the beyond vertical drop should be a gimmick to bring in large crowds. While 21 million could have built a coaster to Dragon's Fury and several other family and thrill rides, this coaster is still a good investment for the park. The thrill seekers are happy, and parents can take their kids on this who can't go on MF or TTD. Mystery Mine: This is another coaster that has created almost as much excitement as Maverick. This coaster is well themed, and the dark ride/ coaster is a great combination. The beyond vertical drop is great, and like Maverick, this coaster can be enjoyed by riders of all ages.

Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom Advice!
Airtime&Gravity replied to PKI Jizzman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ride Roadrunner Express first since the line might be the longest line in the park.(depending on how long Chang's is) Greezed Lightning should be next, but since it was closed when I went, I cant give any advice. Chang should be next, and the line could be over an hour depending on how many trains are being run, and if the large queue house is full. This ride is awesome and is my #1 coaster. I sat somewhere around the second to last row, and there were great forces in all of the inversions.(not Batman strong though) Thunder Run is a great wooden coaster, and if you ride in the front, there is some decent airtime. I actually had fun on T2, and I don't know why everyone hates it. I actually thought it was smooth, and I had a lot of fun. It is not as intense as Batman, but it is just a really fun coaster.(my top 2 inverts are made by Vekoma There was only one side running on Twisted Twins when I went(the pink side), and even with the G-trains, this coaster was smooth. I don't remember much airtime on this coaster, but there were a lot of suprise turns and drops. It is not a top 10 woodie, (well if you've ridden just CF woodies then it is ) but like T2, it is just a fun coaster. If you still have time, ride Roller Skater(made by Vekoma), Superman Tower of Power, and visit the water park. This park has a really weird layout with two sides on diffrent sides of a road, and the larger side is difficult to get around.(I think I missed a main path though ) SFKK is a decent park, and while it is pretty much a "place a ride here and one there" kind of park, it is a fun park to visit with some good coasters. If the entire park looked like the smaller side, then this would be a great park, but the park rapidly expanded and the larger side seemed to be more of rides in a field. However SFKK it is still a fun way to spend a few hours, so have fun there. -

Liseberg Discussion Thread
Airtime&Gravity replied to viking86's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, that is probably the best location for a Screamin Swing that a park can get. This ride should be a lot of fun located in the coasters helix, and when riders are swung over the hillside, it should be one of the scarier Screamin Swings. -
Nice update Jahan, and if SF can keep this up, they should have no problem with bringing families into the park.(except for their high prices and trash in water fountains) The area by Deja vu looks really strange without Psyclone, and hopefully Flashback will soon follow, but I wonder how many visitors will be confused with Flashback being in the park but not on the map.

2006 Park Attendance Figures
Airtime&Gravity replied to PKIDelirium's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, pretty much the only parks that increased were in the Orlando area, and considering the additions to SFMM and SFGADV, that big of an attendance drop is really surprising. The 8% drop at SFGAM was really noticeable this year as it was nowhere near as crowded as the park was in 2005.(the line for HH would go all the way to Whizzer in 05) Maybe SFI will realize that they are too expensive and lower prices(not likely), but maybe with 07 being the first year with a big focus on families, things will change. -
Goliath at SFMM Deemed 'Unsafe'
Airtime&Gravity replied to PKI Jizzman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
While the story was total crap(it is FOX we are talking about), they were trying to make a story. The watchdog group probably know nothing about how a coaster works(G-forces, what the hell are those? ). The only "true" thing was about the cell phones. I know the workers need to feel connected, but you don't have to be on the damn cell phone every five minutes. -

Since I've just ridden a B&M flyer, I won't vote, but I don't like it that much, so I'm going to say Vekoma. B&M flyers just don't seem to offer much, and the Zamperla flyers have the worst layout for a major coaster. If you see a Volare in person, just listen to the strange noises they make.(Flying Coaster at SFEG sounded like it would fall apart when I went) The B&M flyers are fun, but their layouts can't compare to a Vekoma flyer.(Borg looks like it has an awesome layout)

Williams Grove Reopening!
Airtime&Gravity replied to Homer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
At least some rides will remain open, but the park will probably not get any better than it is now. Maybe in a few years it will probably be on the same scale as Uncle Bernie's.(which doesn't look to be much better) -
Question about B&M Stand-Ups
Airtime&Gravity replied to pierced_b0i's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Chang at SFKK has really good hang time, and due to the size of the loop(and the other inversions) it lasts for a few seconds. The only other stand-up I've ridden is Iron Wolf, and while it had hang time, it wasn't as noticeable as on Chang.
