Photo TR: Scott's Incredible Weekend In St. Louis
Airtime&Gravity replied to Scaparri's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Great TR and photos. I love SFSTL, and with THBS it makes me want to go back even more. Xcalibur( the monstrosity) is really amazing to watch, and it is good to see Freeze open again as it has been closed whenever I visited.(well it broke down when I was in line one of the times) Airtime-Can't wait to go back this summer-&Gravity -

Beech Bend TR from May 5th!
Airtime&Gravity replied to Axman's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Great TR, and I never knew a park could look good with just carnival rides. Beech Bend looks like a really nice family run park, and the owners have done a great job with the rides. Beech Bend looks like the amusement section of a state fair, and it turned out really nice. Kentucky Rumbler looks awesome, and if I'm in the area again, I'm definitely going to try to visit this park. -

Mt. Olympus is by far the worst I've visited. There is no shade, most of the rides aren't that great(Cyclops and Zeus are exceptions), the park is poorly laid out, the ride ops are the worst I've seen, and it is horribly overpriced. Maybe it will be a better park when they finish their plans, but it will take a lot of work.

Nope Have you ridden a B&M this year?

What will you do when you can no longer ride coasters?
Airtime&Gravity replied to TatsuTerror's topic in Ask Alvey
^It might (something like 1 in several thousands chance which is actually high space wise) unless our government finds a way to stop the giant meteor from crashing into the earth, but nope, our government has better ideas to use that money instead of potentially saving the earth. As for the topic, I'll accept the fact I can't ride, and I'll go on with life. I don't want it to happen, but there will come a time when I can't ride.(What, you want a different answer? If you do, then read earlier posts.) -
SFGAM Ongoing Photo TR
Airtime&Gravity replied to Airtime&Gravity's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
You know, I didn't notice that until now. I think just the one train is missing them, and if you look closely, you can tell only one side is missing them.(look at car exiting zero-g roll) -
Finally SFGAM opened, and the park was dead even though there was a dance festival going on. The longest wait was only 15minutes for my final ride on Viper! I had a great time, and this should be a great year for the park. The ride ops were great, Wiggles World was crowded, the food was horribly overpriced, and the rides ran great. Viper and Bull ran great, and Giant Drop still reminds me that it can still scare me. So, if you were one of those who read these things, here are the photos. If you just go to the photos, a curse will be placed on your soul. Who takes a limo to an amusement park? LOL These are LIM's, they make a train go really fast really quickly. Up, up, and away zoom...zoom...zoom I wonder if this has ever been closed by the health department... At least it didn't pull a Togo, but it sure felt like one. Revy was actually open! GAM got the worst IMO GP quote of the day, "Owwww" but slowed down in the day Blue was fast in the morning... Viper is still the park's best ride. The trims weren't on hard Raging Bull was awesome Elissa, "Awwww" They look too happy to be on Demon. being closed Deja vu doing what it does best... Deja vu through the trees Not an Elissa friendly ride ACE friendly sign Extreme close up Five people on the ride, operations at the park kicked @$$ I love this photo Hey Derek This is what we in the coaster geekdom call a lift hill B:TR continues to be a great ride. Wonder World...Wonder World...oh, wait

Universal Studios Dubai
Airtime&Gravity replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^None in the UAE Saudi Arabia hates Al-Qaeda, and they recently prevented a major terrorist attack by the group. While the media distorts things, the U.S. and Saudi Arabia have decent relations, and the only really bad Middle East countries are Iraq, Iran, and Pakistan(kind of.) Next you'll probably say all Muslims are terrorists, which is complete crap. Sorry to go on like this, but you need to look around. As for your other reasons for why this will fail... The security won't be a problem as there will be metal detectors at the gates, and being in its' location, the staff won't take any chances just in case. As for the heat, the civilians are used to it, the park will be built accordingly. -ends rant- Okay, this project looks really amazing, and the park should be one of the best in the resort. The coasters look weird though, and I really want to find out more on the King Kong coaster as it looks to have a strange layout. -
Parks of the Past?
Airtime&Gravity replied to RollerC's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Riverview, because it was the world's largest park when it closed, and it was home to one of the most famous coasters built. I loved Lakeside, and Riverview looked like a larger version of that park, and it had some of the greatest coasters ever built. -

Universal Studios Dubai
Airtime&Gravity replied to larrygator's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Awesome, but I wonder if this will change the proposed park for Singapore. The accelerator coaster looks great, and the inverted coaster looks like it will actually be intense unlike most new B&M inverts. Dubailand keeps getting better, and new projects are always being announced. It is really amazing at what is being built over there. -
I actually loved T2 when I rode it last year. It really makes me wonder why Vekoma gets so much crap, because all of the Vekomas I've ridden are great. T2 was incredibly fun, and while not as intense or smooth as Batman, it was just a fun ride. I'd even take T2 over S:UF too.

This looks to be on the same scale as the Screamin' Squirrel to me. It looks fun, but it doesn't do much. However, I can see larger versions being built in the next few years.
