  1. Chang is by far my favorite stand-up, I've only ridden Chang and Iron Wolf, so there is no competition, and I love everything about Chang.(my #2 coaster) Chang was my first stand-up, and I was blown away by the size of this coaster, and while not as forceful as Batman, it had decent forces. The ride was very smooth, and the hang time in the first three inversions was great.
  2. WWW looks like a nice family park, and I don't see what you are all complaining about. There are few plants because it just opened, so wait a few years, and it will look nice. As for all the blacktop, name one park built after 1970 that does not have blacktop paths. I really hope this does well as there are no parks in the area, and with the area they are advertising in,(Missouri to eastern Colorado) they have a large customer base.
  3. Well SFGAM has only been open a few weeks, and it is already pulling in huge crowds. Today there was about every imaginable youth group at the park.(band, sport, dance, choir, religious, etc.) The crowd control was poor, and the park seemed really short on staff. However, the staff that were there did a great job, and they were really working hard. I really think they were caught off guard with how big the crowds were. As for the crowds, along with every type of youth group, you had every type of personality there, and the majority was a gangster/ get out of my way type of behavior with the visitors who weren't in a youth group. There was also a lot of kids playing basketball games in the middle of the midway, and about every kid between 5 and 12 was wearing healies. I had fun, but it was just a real unpleasant trip. Sorry about some of the blurry photos, but I had to take them quickly before some kid walked in to it. Carousel Plaza just before closing time I love Whizzer's station Aquatrax! Whizzer through the trees Viper was running great today Signature shot #2 Hey Derek Southwest Territory looks great in the evening The mission looks great in the evening Airtime 202 feet in the air Signature shot, RollermanDan would be proud Hey Jahan Giant paper weight photo #2 Giant paper weight photo #1 Johnny Rockets will replace Wascals I'm an angry eagle thing, they tore down my awesome entrance, gimmie some candy SFGAM got a Wii area too, and I found that out today Wow, revy hasn't broken down yet Wow, they are serious about line jumpers Worst station ever PAIN! One of my favorite places to eat at SFGAM One of my favorite elements to photograph Yukon Territory reminds me a lot of SFSTL zero-g through the...oh, you know how it ends Batman...through the loop Hey Silver Bullet, this is a good drop Elissa "Awwww" Extreme close up Yankee Clipper through the trees Corkscrews are fun Hey Derek There are so many emotions being expressed in this photo Whizzer is still a favorite of mine
  4. Demon earlier today, and it was smooth. It was is so much better than last year, but it had one of the longest lines in the park at one hour.
  5. Nice, and even though it is small and a clone, it should be a lot of fun. Hopefully Intamin will build larger ones, but a coaster like Inferno/Kirnu would be great for a small park.
  6. Yes Do you want to see Shreck 3?
  7. Great TR, and I'm jealous that Kristen has more ride credits now than I did when I was 5.(well, I'm not really jealous.) She always seems to have a "What the hell is going on!" look on her face though. Although I don't know what is so bad about the tiki room... Airtime-"in the tiki tiki tiki tiki tiki room-&Gravity
  8. I don't think this was a thread just to post what ever idea that will never happen that you have. I mean, be serious guys, I know you want to have fun, but at least act mature. end rant I believe that SFGAM has a dark ride in its near future, and I can easily see a Scooby Doo one in Orleans Place. I would like to see a master blaster in the water park and a screamin swing in the ride park, but those might not be "family friendly", especially a screamin swing, to Six Flags
  9. Cedar Point-I loved this park when I went, but now that I look back, it was really over rated. Yeah, it is cool to drive along and see the rides as you near the park or drive around to soak city, but the rides were really average at best. The park has great atmosphere, and while the rides are fun, there are other parks that deserve to be voted best in the world 100 years in a row.(Europa, Alton, DisneySea, etc.) Mt. Olympus-I really hate this park. There is no shade, it is horribly overpriced, badly laid out, has the rudest ride ops, rough coasters, terrible flats, and doesn't have much to do.
  10. Hate Every Beautiful Day-Sugarcult
  11. Wow, I never realized how big the support pieces were, and the first photo does a good job of showing the size. The rest of the photos were interesting, and I love these old photo TRs.(even though this is not a TR)
  12. No Are the Yankees the worst baseball team?
  13. ^Yes, it is This is great news, and I didn't know that it has been 17 years since Lakeside added anything. I really like Lakeside, and hopefully, the owners can put these new rides into the 99 year old park setting. Airtime-just imagine the drop tower at night-&Gravity
  14. That looks amazing, but I think the largest fireworks display is in Montreal.(set off from La Ronde too) I like this fireworks displays much more than when they are just shot in to the air though.
  15. Yes you will be able to get in to the park early as you are staying at one of the parks hotels. I'd head to Maverick first since it will be new, and it will get long lines fast. MF and TTD are other coasters to hit really early or really late. Go eat at Famous Dave's, it's by the marina, but the park has some good typical amusement food. Sadly there is not much to do in the area except for the Lake Erie Island state park and carousel museum both of which are in Sandusky.
  16. ^ I thought the staff was ok, the park was clean, but there were rude guests.(not even near as many as GAM though). The only reason it is my #1 is that I love the location, atmosphere, and the fact that it has been dead when I've visited. DL looks like a better version of EG (which I like, but it is still my least favorite SF park), and hopefully the new owners can take care of the park. I might go up to DL later this year, so hopefully it is as good or better(hopefully more rides are open) when I visit.
  17. Great TR, and while DL looks nowhere as good as SFSTL(my #1 SF park) it looks good enough to be one of my favorites. While Ride of Steel is probably the worst coaster name, the park looks really clean and well run.
  18. I always brought it back with me when I went, but they used the same cups in 2005 and 2006. While it could be "considered cheating" until this year it said unlimited refills, and there was nothing about one day use. However, the sign advertising it at the food stands make it sound like one day use.
  19. Nope Does anyone you talk to anyone on a daily basis(TPR doesn't count) who loves coasters as much as you?
  20. Wow, that is really sad, and they are using a children's character. It is just really sad that the extremists are using Mickey Mouse to brainwash kids.
  21. Yes Do you post a lot in this thread?(multiple times a day)
  22. I will put gas in my car because it would be pointless to take part in the boycott. I'm waiting(I hope this happens...well except for the economic cost to me) for gas to hit $5 a gallon because then people might finally understand our addiction to oil, and we will move towards a more fuel efficient society. The only other thing is if we all quit buying oil, but that will never happen until gas prices are so high that people find other ways to get around. Airtime-it is called supply and demand people...they have the supply, and you demand it-&Gravity
  23. What kind of question is that?! Are you thinking the same thing as me about that question?
  24. In two days, tomorrow will be today.
  25. I actually watched that yesterday when I searched for "theme park review" on google videos. It was actually interesting, and aside from the heat, they seemed to enjoy themselves.
