PTR/UPDATE: Elitch Gardens
Airtime&Gravity replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I miss SFEG, and it was a nice park. It doesn't look like much has changed since last year, and hopefully the owners start to invest in major attractions soon. SFEG was a park that seemed to need one major attraction, and hopefully they get that soon. As for Twister, it is my fifth least favorite coaster, so I don't know what was good about it. Airtime-oww, my ribs-&Gravity -
Secret Scary Coaster
Airtime&Gravity replied to jason10's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Pretty much any large coaster(150+) or anyone that features a new element scares me. The only coaster I continue to be scared of after I've ridden it is Deja vu. -

The Rumor / Crazy Idea Superthread
Airtime&Gravity replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^We have 3 family coasters, and I doubt we will get a launched or 4d coaster, so that really leaves only a floorless.(although SFGAM could become the park with the most inverts(I think it already holds that title though) with a junior SLC. Happening: Famous Dave's is building a large indoor water park across from GAM.(I didn't believe it at first either) Rumor: Kiddieland closes in 2009 Mt. Olympus will invest in a S&S drop tower in the near future.(well that is more along the lines of a wish and something they should have) -

Europa Park Discussion Thread
Airtime&Gravity replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
This ride looks fun, but it looks like something you might find at Morey's Piers.(see PTR from Robb and Elissa's trip in '04) Europa Park looks like a really nice park, but from the photos, this ride seemed really rushed. Airtime-how many Atlantis rides does the world need?-&Gravity -
Wow, that really made my day. Great photos, but too bad the police didn't like you. It was probably just what they were told to do if someone is where no one should really be.(not saying you cant take photos of a ride still on a truck, but to the police, what normal person does?) They were just not taking any chances because of how embarrassed they were after 9/11.

Toverland Discussion Thread
Airtime&Gravity replied to turbolaaf's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, Troy looks absolutely amazing, and the first drops looks like one of the best on a wooden coaster. GCI has amazed me wither their newest coasters, and Troy looks to be the best one yet. -
Photo TR: Idlewild Park
Airtime&Gravity replied to N'at Man's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't hear much about this park, and from those photos, it really surprises me. The Flying Aces, while not great, look 1000 times better than the ones at CG. Is Idlewild mainly a kiddie park, or more along the lines of say Lake Compounce, because, I could see a coaster similar to Kentucky Rumbler going there in 5-10 years.? -
eh, 1 billion is a really big number, but, yes, I think it could. Do you plan to see 7+ movies this summer?

Skara Sommarland, Sweden TP
Airtime&Gravity replied to TommySweden's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice photos, and the park looks fairly nice. This might just be me, but the park kind of looks like something a hotel would have in the Dells.(This is not bad, it just looks like a park in an area that has had many trees cut down.(the area in one area looks better though)) -
I think I remember reading that Disney wanted to build entertainment centers around the world(like DisneyQuest only better), and I think New York City was one of their first locations. I'm not saying Disney did buy it, I'm just saying that it is possible. Here we go:(from Disney news topic) Airtime-At least I'll be going to AL this summer-&Gravity

Thief hits on employee-victim after robbing store
Airtime&Gravity replied to BarryH's topic in Random, Random, Random
Wow, how stupid can you be?(well you have to be stupid to rob a store in the first place) I just have to wonder if it was a joke, because if it wasn't, then that is one of the dumbest crooks ever. -
Dubailand official website now up
Airtime&Gravity replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^I read that Global Village and some other smaller areas are already up. I think it was somewhere in the skyscraperpage link. -
Dubailand official website now up
Airtime&Gravity replied to FLIPDUDE's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, here is what is going there besides the parks. http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=107822 Nice website, but I think one will have to be created for every section, because when the project is complete, there will be way too much for one site. -
Here is a POV, and I now understand why most people dislike the coaster. It seems to be a Canadian version of the "it's big, but it doesn't do much" coasters of Japan. http://youtube.com/watch?v=Y1kCdRWU8qY

Great news for Michigan to get a new park, but isn't 160 million a little cheap for what they have planned? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't GL bought for something like 130 million? It sounds like the developers have some good ideas, and when finished, this could be one of the Midwest's premier parks.

Troy from the sky
Airtime&Gravity replied to Coaster Joe's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow, Troy looks incredible, and I thought it would be a near clone of Thunderbird, so this is a nice surprise. Airtime-I thought Toverland was a family park-&Gravity
