  1. Nice report on LR. No doubt that sign out front puts up a yellow light to the GP. At least the park is being transparent about it, though. Yay, love for MM! Watch for that canary..
  2. Wahoo waterpark TRs! Looks like a great park with some unique slides. It's almost difficult to find parks without Tornados and mat racers. A no count down drop pod? Yeah, that sounds like heaven. I've never been on one of the body bowl slides, so they are very alluring to me as well. Same goes for the half pipe...looks like a giant wall of delicious airtime. Great stuff!
  3. There's a 3 bedroom home for $198 a night on Airbnb.... Right next to the parking lot on the beach south of Wicked Twister!!! It sleeps 7, who wants to go???? https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/7339707?location=Sandusky%2C%20OH%2C%20United%20States&s=MLqrm_yH What a deal. Oh hey good morning WT. Why would you stay anywhere else
  4. Zomboy (DJ) last week. He's a DJ I've really loved since he started. I'm not a huge bass head, but the guy's stuff is fire. Happy Lollapalooza week. 4 days starting on Thursday! I'm hoping Chance steals most of the crowd Sat night so I can get up close with The XX. I've seen Chance so many times since I live in Chicago, so there's no reason for me to try and battle that massive crowd. I bet there will be some awesome guests, though. Vic, Vince, Kanye?, who knows.
  5. Mismatching lap bars? That's a new one, haha. Pretty obvious they want to take Old Yeller to the barn. I haven't been since 2011 but I really enjoyed my rides on Georgia Cyclone. True that it was a bit rough, but that was part of the reason why it produced better airtime than the other cyclone models I've been on. Like the Racer models being removed, this doesn't really sadden me knowing the future is bright and there are plenty of other Cyclone models still out there to ride.
  6. I just had a timehop from the 2009 Texas trip. What an awesome time! So many friends made and great moments. That ERT session we had on Shockwave @ SFOT was legendary. I'd love to do one again some day.
  7. I also thought Hades was great. I expected the worst but it was just as "rough" as any other wooden coaster. The double down before the lift was oddly jerkey, though. Zues was not running well and was one of the worst, most painful coaster experiences I've ever encountered. Oh man and Cyclops...
  8. Even though I visited in 2009 before the RMC treatment, the park blew away all expectations I had leading in. I loved the Spain area near Vibora, and Shockwave was AMAZING. Still tops in my books...the airtime in the back is so abrupt. What a great collection of above average rides in a pleasantly themed park.
  9. Great pictures, Andy! Especially the night shots of Fury with the mirroring pools of water. A, but not quite A+ is a great way to sum up Fury, IMO. Those transitions in the first half of the ride are stellar..
  10. You obviously did not look up the price of the ticket. A 3 day ticket without express is $275 + tax. Express starts at $84.99 a day, for those dates it is $89.99 for Friday and Saturday, and $99.99 for Sunday. Total $591 with tax for just the tickets and express if you want it for all 3 days. $389 for a 3 day ticket and express on a single day. I did look up prices for tickets; and as you detailed above I simplified my post with it's going to pretty much start a 300 just for the base tickets and depending on if a EP is needed for just one park, both, both in one day etc it's going to be way over 300 (300+). Sorry if it looked like I was trying to fool anyone into thinking they can find 3 day tickets + EP for 300 lmao
  11. If you really want the credits, I say go for it. You might be able to enjoy it as a quick trip if you get the Universal Express Pass. Otherwise be prepared of longer than usual waits just because it's Labor Day weekend/traditional end of summer/last weekend for Dragon Challenge. I got too excited about this idea, haha. I think I have to just let this dream float away: Chicago to Orlando flight 8/31 - 9/4: $250-300 Hotel 8/31 - 9/4: $350-400 Universal Ticket for Fri/Sat/Sun + Express pass $300+ Sounded fun in my head, but assuming I'd be on this trip solo it's pretty expensive. I could probably work it cheaper and do Fri-Monday to get a cheaper flight/save a night in the hotel, but this shouldn't be the way about visiting Universal for the first time I don't know crap about the Florida parks or the flow of things so I'll formulate a better plan of action.
  12. That's too funny. I'm not sure I've ever waited more than 15 minutes for Banshee. They ride eats through lines like none other, is long enough to give the ops plenty of time to send trains between blocks, and the ops have the process down to a science. The extra wait for the front row is like, 5 minutes even when over flowing! Love it! Delirium is running. Ohioans may be dumb, but we love theme parks the GP knows well enough that KI is very, very different than the Columbus fair; I'm not surprised the ride is running.
  13. I'm getting weak at nearly every caption, haha. Especially this gem: "The key is to not run towards Roar-o-saurus. Not only would a single adult running through a children's park draw unwanted attention" Priceless advice!
  14. I've never been to Universal... how are Labor Day weekend crowds? Maybe I can snake a quick trip down to get a ride in before they close
  15. Give Dan a sugar free cookie to make a wish that the Title Fairy gives Derek a fast pass to his favorite looping coaster where he'll tip off StationMan on the way to email mrt0ad13@aol.com which will magically kick back to Prince Desmond's queue and the ride will be saved.
  16. Wow, Dodonpa's new station looks awesome. Thanks for the photos of Fuji Q! Hadn't seen an update in while. How were the flat rides? Or does no one have anytime to ride them after waiting in the long queues?
  17. Puhleeeease? Not sure if a log flume is on the board or where it is on the hierarchy of future plans, but I hope it's in the works. A log flume can have a pretty versatile layout, so there should be plenty of opportunities to put it in.
  18. My thoughts exactly. After waiting 13 years to ride Afterburn again, it still rode exactly like I remembered it. Smoother than newer B&M's, the wing over at the end is nuts, and the little things like the turn and dip before the immelman make it one memorable coaster! Thanks for the live updates and posting the full reports here! I just got a timehop to the Texas trip and it's awesome to see a TPR USA tour ticking off this week
  19. Great report! Goliath is one odd ride that impresses in every element it has. I just wish the park had a better frisbee.
  20. That's a specific amount of coasters and parks you haven't been to. It's okay buddy eventually you'll ride one.
  21. Mystery Mine Phantom's Revenge Mr. Freeze Shockwave (SFOT) Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster Powder Keg Thunderation Beast Viper Steel Eel
  22. Superman was closed for seasonal rehab when I visited, so this ride is even more incentive to get back to the Gold Coast. Looks like a top 10 ride for me.
  23. Nothing's better than reading a new CP trip report on the train. Great chapter to the trip reports lando, Bill. Millennium in the front is something else. The front line queue almost always presents the "doooooo I wait it out? Or wait two trains for the back?" dilemma, but front row is the winner every time. It really does feel like the first ride, every ride. I'm still getting over the shock of no beer mentioned and a padd up on the Thirsty Pony. I read that correct, right?!
  24. Pokemon GO Fest tickets are re-selling for around $300 here in Chicago. I know a few people who bought tickets and planned on going, but decided to sell when people started paying these insane prices. I fell off before the 2nd gen came out and haven't been back but I had a ton of fun with the app when I had it!
  25. Ya'll have it all wrong! Diamondback is best in the front (personally, row 2 on the edge).
