  1. I don't think anyone has wished for the whole ride to be replaced by B&M, only the restraints. Get those mine train lapbars outtahere. The trick has never worked for me..
  2. What's great about this park, which is in the minority, is that they don't need to add another coaster for me to warrant a trip back. Any new attractions are just a bonus tbh
  3. Bless this thread and the tickle it brought to me on a crappy Friday.
  4. I've flown over the park 6 times in the past two years...I think this might be the year I make a stop.
  5. Sadly, I pre-purchased this last year and I'm stuck with it. ...I haven't even played it yet. Has anyone had fun with this game????
  6. Wow you can now get the authentic Roller Coaster Tycoon mascot entertainment! Don't remember seeing any pandas reoccurring on Fallon's show.. looks like an attraction I would skip.
  7. I really hope the turn Viper backwards again. That was so much fun. I'd also be up for Eagle backwards.
  8. Truth. Our team was the focal point for opening year and management loved encouraging us. We had so much fun, and even had competitions with Behemoth for capacity per hour. Can't remember what our record was but ..maybe 1800-1900?
  9. Agreed! Appreciate the post. Both parks look stellar and can't wait to real more.
  10. This has been a great read since I've been wanting to do a similar trip like this in the future. Thanks for pitching in, everyone.
  11. Because Robb is Google, right?
  12. I think one of the coolest parts about Cedar Point is the solid chance that a massive storm can brew up, tear through, and be gone within a couple hours. I'm talking a monsoon for 15 minutes and then 30 minutes later it's all sunny again like nothing happened. This happened on the first day of my most recent trip and it was really exciting. I also highly recommend going on a slow day. Combo with fun pix. Try and take ridiculous pics on Dragster. It's effing hard. Trying to get the praise + dab combo and those positive G's on the drop ruin your plans 9/10 times
  13. This entire post is about you and doesn't contribute anything to this thread or help on getting to the park from parts around the city. Noted, but there are actually people asking for advice and ideas on how to get from the city/other points to the park. @Raceboarder - that's something I never thought about. At least if you're taking a car from the Metra line you'll avoid that. Metra weekend roundtrip tickets are only 10 bucks and you don't even have to print them anymore, you can download the app and save some coin.
  14. Like I said, it is ludicrous. You just didn't know what the heck you were doing. You instead made it seem the trip was long, complicated, taxing, etc...which would discourage the person you were responding to from using public transport. Leaving downtown at 430 am if you had a clue of what you were doing. you would have made the 540 UP-N, which would have got you to Waukegan Station at 650am. After taking the bus you would have been at SF about 3 hours before the park opens. There also is a train that leaves like 630am which would have gotten you there way early or even the 725am one, the 835am was also an option to arrive tight Goddamn. Pump the brakes a bit, guy. No one is an expert at public trans immediately, expecially coming from a non local. Mistakes happen and sometimes technology doesn't do the best job either. Clearly no one would have taken that route had they known the results. The story sounds like and is utter BS. There is absolutely no reason, even if you don't know Chicago, to leave from downtown to SF at 430am. It doesn't pass the basic BS meter. Second why would any logical person not use google maps or transit chicago if they don't know there way around? Oh wait, the excuse will be they don't have a phone, have no laptop, or can read a map. Btw, if you use Trans Chicago or Googke map or any directions service they will not tell you to go from Grand to SF by taking the purple line up to Evanston. They all will tell you to go to Oglvie Third, none would tell you to leave at 430am ? There are 4 trains that leave after then that all get you to SF by 1030am The guy wanted to turn someone off from public transport by a story that doesn't pass basic logic or any modicum of the BS sniff test. Naw, you're just being an @$$hole.
  15. I don't want to detract from the main thread, but I've already got plenty of things I want to do while I'm there! I'll def reach out in a non-coaster NYC thread if I need more advice. Never been to NYC so I could probably just wonder around aimlessly and find things to do every day haha. Since Great Adventure was running rides through December, I thought I'd have to a chance to hit up Luna and Great Adventure. I'm so clooose.

  17. You're at the top(hat) of the page, guy. Can't go any further.
  18. Who cares about an imaginary top hat when we have real tangible Von Roll cabins, Pink's hot dogs, fresh cut fries, devil's spit hot bqq sauce, and the Valravn dark IPA? And also, the Drunken Donkey Patio across the causeway
  19. What about the intensity record? Just a hug a teddy bear and you'll earn it.
  20. Damn, I'm going to be in NYC the last week in March and it looks like everything will be closed. Might as well double up on the Scott's Pizza Tours..
  21. Yikes, sorry to hear...no wonder it took you that long. That's a very long and unnecessary way of getting to Great America from downtown..I wish someone could have directed you better. No one should ever take the RedLine/Purple north to Evanston to get to the Metra since there are the main hubs downtown that will save tons of time.
  22. During our three day visit to Cedar Point last year, here's where we ate on property: Famous Dave's Famous Dave's Chickie and Pete's Ice cream shop Elephant Ear We were there the last week of weekday operations and totally just didn't notice the food trucks. We seriously took the sky ride over them every time. (Hi bill) I did feed the goats and llamas so I consider myself a mobile food stall. I usually open up around 3 when I need a break from consecutive Maverick rides.
  23. Pace is the suburban public transportation bus and you can take it to the park. This will be your cheapest way there. The trip is about 45 minutes from Rosemont, IL to the park. You can take this bus from the park back to Rosemont, IL. I took this bus once and it worked out well. Go to this page for more information on the route. http://www.pacebus.com/sub/espd/six_flags_express.asp. Azza29 - Get on the CTA Blue Line at O'hare and take it to the first stop, which is Rosemont. You will find the Pace bus in the bus terminal when you exit the Rosemont station. Brassinthegrass - Find the nearest downtown CTA Blue Line station and take it to the Rosemont stop. This is about an hour ride. You will find the Pace bus in the bus terminal when you exit the Rosemont station. Go to this page for information on the CTA portion of your trip. http://www.transitchicago.com/ If you have any questions then feel free to ask me. These are great options. Like most people in Chicago, I don't have a car otherwise I'd chime in. Taking the Metra to Waukegan then ubering from there would be a time effective and cost effective trip. Again, post or PM a week or two in advance. I'd be down to split an uber to the park if I couldn't find a friend to share a ride/go with.
