  1. Was just at the park yesterday. The coaster was bare and the only things you could see other then darkness was the guard-rails around the track. The ride was shockingly bad without the theming. Just pure boredom. I understand maintenance has to be done. But to rip the theming out in the school holiday confuses me. Maybe a re-theming coming? VR Maybe? Also odd cause there's a new Scooby Doo movie coming out. Let's set a greeeeeat example/standard - strip all themeing and make you wear a headset to see it. VR on a wild mouse would also set a record low capacity.. I'm really hoping the ride is just getting a touch up. The lengthy ride is just pure fun. Really sad to see them running it empty without any notice to the GP.
  2. Check out Boldikus bringin' back the MySpace vibes 1. What is the name of your home park? Six Flags Great America 2. Do you own a coaster related T-shirt? Yeahhhh, I bought a shirt at Dreamworld, AU. I was gifted a Kentucky Rumbler t-shirt so that's in the closet at home somewhere. I haven't worn them ever. I have worn TPR shirts 3. Voyage is an extreme endurance test with crazy airtime, Millennium was my first 'elite' coaster and is still such a fun ride to this day, and Outlaw Run is just hard to explain. The ride is f'n incredible. 8. When you go to a park three things you must have with you are... Phone, ultra boosts, beers 9. How many times did you visit your home park last season? 2, haha. The lapbar went down and extra notch and just punched me under the ribs the whole ride, it was awful. I went home after. My girl friend had her ear ring ripped out of the middle seat divider due to stitching that was exposed and got caught. She goes to the park for free for life. 28. Favorite Halloween event at a park? 3. I'm still stoked about the water park upgrade. It really rounds out the experience when staying 2+ days. We had the place to ourselves for the 2-3 hours we were there and didn't wait a minute for any slides. It'll be nice to see it more populated. Soak City needed attention badly - the "sand" was like cat litter, the paths weren't the cleanest, and it just felt out of date. I'm excited to see the changes (hopefully) later this summer.
  4. Hurry someone post a picture of a Von Roll skybucket.
  5. Nice read! As a 23 year Ohio resident who had done Christmas in Florida once, it is a shock at first to be surrounded by lights, Christmas music, etc in the sunny warm weather haha
  6. The level of confidence people have in their 2017 vs 2018 arguments are astounding I'm not sure how many grains of salt to put against the holiday video. I love they they did it, though! Well done! (Hey Tony)
  7. Did you read the article right above your post? Yes I did but i want to know WHY someone would want to experience that. I guess living in the midwest area Im pretty cynical when it comes to winter time weather. I been to Florida during the winter too and i have to say i prefer Florida's winters 100 times over. I'm also not a sports person so i can care less about skiing and snowboarding and all that. Hey guess what I know it might be hard to comprehend but there are actually other people in this world with different interests and desires.
  8. Fantastic read on one of the most impressive parks out there. Thanks for taking the time to write this up! Can't wait to follow along with the rest of the trip. I'm assuming more/bigger "Bathroom this way" signs aren't going to fix the issue...hopefully the park can find ways to curb this behaviour as time goes on.
  9. I just noticed you change your avatar on a daily basis
  10. Let's see, here's what I've got: Goliath (SFOG), Diamondback, Raging Bull, Magnum, Phantom's Revenge, Titan (SFOT). I don't think I'm missing any others... Electric Eel doesn't qualify. 1]Goliath 2]Diamondback 3]Phantom 4]Raging Bull 5]Titan 6]Magnum I only got to ride Phantom once, but it's so fast paced I really don't believe I got to savor every element and moment. Unfortunately, they were only running one train in July and I only had so much time at the park. Diamondback I've been on hundreds of times, and I've had some fantastic rides. I do wish the ride kept the same pace post MCBR. Goliath is the best B&M hyper, IMO. Our ERT sessions during DSB were amazing. Raging Bull is now my home park hyper. One of the best first drops in existence and just a purely fun ride. Titan was kind of weird, but has the insane helix and long sustained air hill...it's an odd layout like Six Flags was trying to create a giant steel version of the classic Cyclone. Magnum....I like it, but it kills me. Over the summer I tried pulling my seat belt as tight as possible but it didn't help. Only rode once this year because my roommate refused to ride again.
  11. To his defense Hi Henry M. This announcement really took my by surprise because this looks like a very un-American coaster. Some have already drawn comparisons to the sister over at Grona Land. What a unique lokking action packed ride! I've already had this park on the bucket list due to the Skycoaster, but I'd totally visit for this ride. I'm glad they chose GG - now Fun Spot will have a sterling reputation not just GCI and Vekoma, but also GG. A bright future for Fun Spot!
  12. Or they just play out the whole grand "Christmas in July" idea like they did at Kings Island this season. Will that make ya'll happy?
  13. I'd say no because of the lack of non local visitors.
  14. Quality post and photos, mate.
  15. It is, enthusiasts are still annoying as sh*t. Oh Bill just shut up! Stop being such a GP'er. Can't you see that we the people of the coaster community demanded this ride to be built and that's why they are doing it? It's also going to be 2018 because we can't imagine anything else going in that is better for the park's big 148th anniversary celebration!! I mean come on...it's a big anniversary year in 2018 and parks always build stuff on the big years, especially if they aren't rounded. GateKeeper was built for the 143rd Anniversary and Valravn for the 146th. #AnniversariesMatter Also, I talked with my sources this morning and they have CONFIRMED to me that there is a coaster that is replacing Mean Streak. And its going to break a whole bunch of records. You heard it here first! (Hopefully everyone sees the sarcasm in this post!) Just bring back the boat and I'll be pleased!! This is golden and I can'twait for the response
  16. Diamondback. Pretty easy to operate, there were a variety of positions around the ride, and the walk back into the woods to do lockouts was a unique experience. Not to mention times when it woulf break down and you get to scale the 232 drop or tall MCBR. We would also have capacity contests with our sister park's hyper, Behemoth. I worked on Invertigo, Drop Zone, Delirium, and Top Gun for a couple days but none gave me much of an impression.
  17. First dry slides on a ship? I like the step in a different direction! Those slides look like a ton of fun.
  18. Agreed. And check out that wave turn at the end. Totally a shoutout to Millennium Force
  19. Of the ones I've been on, I'd say Shockwave. Also my favorite. Great airtime!
  20. I'm going to avoid sounding like an A$$ as much as possible here, but have you ever tried your back pocket? Ever since I've started going to parks more often, I've put my phone in my back pocket, and it stays there unless I'm A) trying to meet up, B) taking touristy pictures, or C) killing time in a long queue. To date, it has fallen out on a coaster precisely 0 times. So like, sitting on your phone on the ride? Not the best idea when you're putting I don't know many pounds of pressure on the screen. Your weight x 5g's at the bottom of the drop...I did this once on Banshee and my Galaxy cracked for the first time.
  21. Damn that hill on the return is sooo drawn-out
  22. I'm a fan of the pre drop and have a hard time picking Raging Bull or Goliath for better first drop..
  23. I still haven't gotten a Snorlax. Am I the only one? I kind of don't mind because my Wigglytuff's HP is similar (I think) at 200+. After all the Ghastly catching during Halloween, evolving a CP 800 Haunter and resulting in a 1300 Gengard with only 84HP I'm pretty let down...thought the guy was going to be a beast!
  24. It's called personal preference. Height speed and steepness do not make *always* = great ride. Many people would think I'm crazy that I rank Runaway Mine Train and Skull Mountain over Kingda Ka at my home park but its simply because I enjoy them more. It's not that I don't like big and fast - look at my top 10. I, and I feel like many people in this community are open minded enough about all rides big and small, especially classics that have aged well, and can appreciate a ride regardless of its speed and height. boldikus, you're brave for rebuttling. Appreciate the backup. -Zach "Yes, Scooby Doo's Spooky Coaster aka a custom wild mouse is one of my favorite coasters" B
