  1. Okay, I'm just gonna come out and say it, this is a singing competition so I don't know how those deaf kids got in. They weren't singing, they were like, honking, and everyone was crying, and I was like get off the stage, you're terrible and you're making me super uncomfortable.
  2. My entry: Adding a large hat to obstruct views is always a good idea. Right?
  3. Did you seriously just do that? Really?
  4. It would be a daunting task, but if the drawing were scanned in pieces (I assume it's huge) and then opened in Adobe Illustrator and pieced together, it could be used as a template to redraw everything in vectors over top of it. Color could be added in the process as well. And since vectors art is easily edited, rides and buildings could be added or deleted and color changes would be pretty simple. I re-create hand drawings into vector art on a daily basis for my job, so I know that it is doable...it would just be time consuming (but wouldn't take as long as the original drawing took).
  5. I'm a graphic designer. I've been sending out resumes like crazy for the past few months because I am getting laid off in a couple of weeks. A few weeks ago I sent a resume to a design group and I noticed that they did the park maps for Six Flags. Here is the link if you're interested. http://www.willodesign.com/portfolio/other/9-Six_Flags_Maps.htm Hell, maybe you could freelance for them or something. Even if it's a matter of you creating the main layout and details of the maps and then someone else scanning it and creating a digital vector file that can be manipulated as the park changes each year. Awesome work!
  6. I worked at The Trail of Terror in Lexington, KY for four years. It used to be run by the Parks and Recreation department and was really good, but I think that a private company bought them out after I moved and it went downhill after that. I was a "chainsaw dude" for 2 years and a zombie in the graveyard for 2 years. I much preferred being a zombie because it allowed me to be a bit more interactive. Since it was outside, we actually had coffins buried in the ground with the lids covered with leaves that we hid in. As guests walked through the graveyard (complete with actual headstones) we would emerge from the ground and hunt them down. As a chainsaw dude, when guests heard the chainsaw, most took off running. We experienced several fainting spells, people running into trees, people wetting themselves. I did find that the people most easily scared were the black guys. They tended to either push their girlfriends in front of them and scream or take off running. It was hilarious.
  7. Wait. Is it possible that you have not read the thread about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter?
  8. Mountain Slidewinder won't be open when he goes. It closed on Labor Day, along with the play fort on the hill...I didn't get to experience either.
  9. I visited Dollywood for the first last week. I too have always wanted to go, and even lived in Kentucky for most of my life, but never made the trek down. I was back in Kentucky visiting family and decided that it just had to be done. So, I asked my sister if she would let one of my nephews skip school and we headed down on the Wednesday after Labor Day. The park was practically empty. The front of the park seemed semi-crowded, but it was mostly older guest there primarily for the shows, food and shopping. The back of the park, with most of the major rides, was deserted. There were absolutely no lines all day and the weather was great (except for a couple of thunder claps that closed most of the rides for 30 minutes both times). We just rode the bumper cars a few times while waiting for the other rides to re-open. Although I thought the 3 big coasters were fantastic, I think I enjoyed Blazing Fury the most. Such a weird ride...and even though I kind of knew what to expect, it still surprised me. And my nephew's reaction, who had no idea what was going on, was hilarious. I'm sure you will enjoy your visit. It truly is an awesome park. I'll be going back soon.
  10. Damn, I just watched it, laughed, and then posted it on my facebook. It was removed seconds later.
  11. Geez...before you guys try being jerks you should read his post completely. All he said was that if the coaster is in fact called "White Lightning" then it probably won't even be painted white.
  12. Is this dude seriously free-balling in his spiderman costume?
  13. If you "could care less", then why not go ahead and do it? Personally, I "couldn't" care less. Sorry...it's just a pet peeve of mine.
  14. Nice pictures, but I think they're a bit large.
  15. Texas Giant or Rattler. Texas has rough wood. And according to what he told me after getting off the Texas Giant yesterday, I bet Zach will change his answer.
  16. I'm meeting up with the TPR Texas trip...what's so crazy about that?
  17. I'm bumping this just because there is only a day left. Let me know if interested.
  18. I'm going to meet up with the group on Friday. I'll be going alone and just wondered if anybody else in Dallas or east of Arlington was going and would want to carpool. I don't mind driving. Just respond in the thread or message me if interested.
  19. You do realize it says "Kinley", right? Not "Kinky"? Right?
  20. You should organize a flash mob of speedo wearers. I suppose the woman (I'm assuming it was a woman) that complained didn't watch any of the Olympic swimming or diving events because the speedos burned her retinas. I answered you PM by the way.
  21. Could you post a picture of yourself in the speedo and let us be the judge? Seriously, the same exact thing happened to a guy I work with. He and his boyfriend took his boyfriend's daughter to the very same Hurricane Harbor. I've never met the boyfriend, but apparently he is pretty built and he wore a speedo, because like you, he likes how he looks in them. They were also asked to change swimsuits or leave because someone complained. Mr. Speedo asked to see who complained because he was sure that he could point out half a dozen offensive things about the complainer. It makes me wonder if it was just the fact that it was a speedo, or was it the fact that they were a gay couple and one was in a speedo, like that somehow makes it more vulgar. Would anything have been done if it was a straight couple and their kid? I would hope that Six Flags wouldn't discriminate like that, but I can see where the complainer may be more likely to do so.
  22. Kings Island? I figure they had to replace the plaques in "The Paramount Story", so maybe this is what they came up with? I have no idea.
  23. It almost looks as though you have a mouth full of mini marshmallows.
  24. Nice report. I live about 20 minutes from SFOT, but haven't been in about 5 years. This report makes me want to give it another chance.
