With US Air's trimming of flight out of PIT, I find myself flying on AirTran more than ever before. Pretty good airline for the price and I really dig that most of their fleet is relatively new. If I am heading south, it is usually AirTran or US Air. If I am heading west, it is usually United or America West. For NY, Chicago or Boston, Southwest and JetBlue are my options. // TED Airlines RULES!

Underrated (steel) Manufacturers

Of those currently making coasters, I would put them in this order: Maurer Söhne (Spinning Mice Rule!) S&S (Bonus points for also making the most "wrong" woodies ever) Premier (Mummy yummy) Gerstlauer (Bobsled and Eurofighters) -
Knoebels Discussion Thread
CoasterFanatic replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
With the packed campgrounds over the holiday weekend and the way that the pricing is structured, you better believe that Knoebels is going to have everything they can open this weekend. If not, they are going to take a big money hit. -

^^ c'mon. Only Traver rides count. I will say Kennywood since it has always ran. -

I am pretty much betting that anyone who has been to Nara will put Aska at the top. Too bad it will be a pile of toothpicks by September -

Nice shots Jeff! I remember looking at some of these on the trip, but it is always good to see more. Funny that you increased the capacity of every coaster but somehow spinball's lowered -

I see all this stuff about how they are going to keep the first car because that was Elvis's favorite. Are they even the same trains? -

Sounds like hard drive failure. If you turn it on and listen to it, does it make any kind of faint clicking noises. If so ... time for a new hard drive.

What is with Weyerbacher? They always changin they labels! -
I am not doubting your knowledge of the ride, It just wasn't quite what I was expecting. I have been riding a pair of Miller woodies since birth and they never felt like THAT. It just seemed like the new trains may have been a little more rigid. They don't have that flex that the old beaten up trains seem to have. The seat padding may also be different, but that is an entirely different argument. The same is true of the new trains on the Racer at Kennywood, but because of it's snoozer pace, you don't really even notice it. I did ride on the wheels a decent bit on the Nash, but it still just felt a little more "jarring" than I expected. Maybe I just set my expectations a little too high, but I don't think I was the only one.

Never. It may look like an hour, but it NEVER takes that long. I have been to the park for the Forth of July at max capacity and you can still get out in about 20 minutes. Those things hold almost 400 passengers per train, and at close they run back to back on two sides. // "Por favor mantenganse alejado de las puertas'" -
^ I never rode with the old trains, but the new ones felt really stiff to me. I also kept getting stapled on the painfull jackhammer moments. In the end, Grand National probably did more damage to my body than anything else on the trip (including the wheel). Don't know if Steve wants to chime in here, but I think he had a pretty strong opinion on the subject.

They sure do. That is where that "retard" threw that balloon from that zonked my fiance on the head. I could picture the headlines now: "American Coaster Nut Has Passport Revoked After Assaulting a Defenseless "Special" Kid" // I wish I had no conscience as that kid would still be in the hospital.
