  1. Oh lord ... it has gotten to this.
  2. Mystery tattoos. I love it.
  3. The lighter the better. This is why the ones at Knoebels are so admired.
  4. Bisch Rocco (10-Tub Version is better). These are like the holy grail of flying scooters and can be found at: Knoebels, Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Conneaut Lake, Southport Pleasureland, Erieview and more. There used to be a census page that listed more on the old "coastersaver.com" site, but it has since closed.
  5. ^ There isn't neccesarily a right and wrong way to do it. I could use my technique to get both the Carowinds and Larson flyers to snap, but there are also techniques that will work on the Carowinds version that won't do anything on the Larson models. This is what makes the Flyers so great. Every set is different.
  6. ^ It is, but they are not trying to get anyone to conform. Only if they want to participate in their private event. Robb, I agree with you. I am sure that there was no language in the contract guaranteeing that the park would be open the next day for them, but I would be willing to guess that it was mentioned. I would also *gasp* assume that they had arrangements to buy grou tickets for the next day. How else would the park/hotel know to nofity their guests?
  7. ^ They knew the muslims intentions. The muslim event is a complete park buy-out and not open to the public. The Muslims were kind enough to allow the couple to enter the park during the event, but they would have to conform to their standards. It IS Alton's fault because they booked the park buyout after they allowed the wedding couple to believe they would have the park at their disposal on the following day. A good example (and I'm sure this was covered in your Disney contract Robb) is let's say that you booked a wedding at Disney 2 years in advance and they led you to believe that the park would be open to your guests the next day. A couple months before the event, your guests get a letter in the mail explaining that the park will be closed to a private group of nudists that day. They say that you are welcome to attend their private event, but you are not allowed to wear any clothes. What are your feelings? The circumstances aren't much different.
  8. I believe that the biggest problem is that it was conveyed to the couple that the park would be open to their guests the following day. When they booked the wedding that was probably a big plus. Now they are receiving letters saying that they can enter the park, but only if they conform to Muslim standards. I ahve a feeling that the newlyweds would like to at least be able to ride together.
  9. The Larson ones are a little more challenging, but the seasoned "snapper" can get them to dance pretty good. I had no problem at all getting the ones at Oakwood to snap. I actually think I scared the op a little bit. I have mixed feelings on the Flying Eagl .... er ... I mean Phantom Flyers at Carowinds. The problems with these is they fly too tight. I think a lot of that has to due to their weight and the stability it adds. Although they are the same manufacturer as Knoebels, the tubs have steel supports for the seats and weigh more overall. Also, they are TOO easy to snap really hard which only encourages people to really bust them up. If you watch carefully, almost everybody has the same technique. What fun is that?
  10. Boo to Holiday World's Flyers! They are the only ones that I just can't seem to do much of anything with. I am usually pretty good with the flyers, but even I show some restraint on the ones at Conneaut and only snap them gently. Lord knows that the park can't afford any type of serious maintenance. For some great snapping demonstrations, check out these two videos: Knoebel's Opening Day 2005 Knoebel's PPP 2004
  11. I can only imagine what kind of twisted ideas Todd came up with. Please tell me that it involves PPP.
  12. Was Mr. Marks at your wedding?
  13. Trust me, the structure on Villian is solid as hell. Now if they would only retrack it and switch to PTC trains ... you would have one damn good ride.
  14. Leaving out the "Big Themer" flumes, I will go with: Waldameer (It is damn near perfect) Kennywood (Not many Arrows still have "The Dip") Knott's
  15. Cool. Just in time for them to close half of the woodies on the Spain trip!
  16. #1 - Dipper at Kennywood #2 - Beastie at PKI .... don't have a clue ... #200 Dragon Coaster at Dorney (Yeah I know it's powered)
  17. "I know for a fact that it jumped the tracks" From the 11pm video
  18. ^ What the hell is your deal?
  19. The conversation at the end of the show is innacurate in every way. No way could anyone marathon Steel Phantom and live to tell the tale
  20. Robb and Elissa thank you for your support. In the future, please post random comments in their place in the "Random" forum. // Closed
  21. Damn right! The pop machine even worked and free refills is a phrase you don't hear to much in the UK. I actually used to be a HUGE fan of Kennywood's pizza (Square/Slice) up to the early 90's, but then something changed. Not quite sure what it was, but it just isn't the same. For Pizza in general, you haven't lived until you had this food of the gods.
