  1. You can pretty much take your camera on anything at Disneyland. I did on my last visit and nobody so much as even looked at me. --- Interesting Story --- One time, while at WDW, I took my camera on Pirates of the Carribean. Wanting to get a couple of shots, I turned the night vision on. Armed with my infrared light, I started to get some shots before the drop, when the a Cast Member came over the speakers and said "Please! Put your light away". After about a second of thought, I realized that they use infrared cameras to monitor the boats during the ride. It must have looked like I was carrying a spotlight on the black and white monitors.
  2. If you are into flats, you will probably enjoy Canada's Wonderland. As far as coasters go ... it is pretty bad when the "Mouse" is my favorite.
  3. Just email Brian Peters (Membership Director), he will help you out and get you moving quickly. You can find his email at http://www.aceonline.org.
  4. No idea on Dodonpa, but Hypersonic feels like it is ripping all the air right out of my lungs.
  5. IOA has some killer rides, but for sheer coaster thrills. Two word ... Busch Gardens Montu - Excellent B&M Invert Kumba - Excellent B&M Sitdown SheiKra - B&M Dive Machine (Not yet sure if excellent) Cheeta Chase - Mack Mouse Scorpion - Schwarzkoph Goodness Python - Typical Corkscrew Gwazi - Dueling GCI Has-beens
  6. No need to fear, just as long as he isn't wearing legwarmers too! // A "Closet" straight Erasure fan ... but the Pet Shop Boys don't do much for me.
  7. Many coaster webmaster are not experts in webdesign. If you want to get started immediately, start simple. Maybe use "movable type", "blogger" or something similar. This will allow you to post stuff while you are still learning. Best luck, and welcome to the coaster site community.
  8. ^ Very true. People have this stereotype in their head that all gay men wear rainbow shirts and leg-warmers listening to Erasure and the Pet Shop Boys all day. I have known plenty of gay people who have presented themselves on both sides of the "spectrum". // Straight in a non-high fiving sort of way
  9. Glad to see that I am not the only one that considers "The Colour" an amazing album. That thing just goes off like a timebomb. The first five tracks set the whole mood. Also happy to see that "Mindcrime" is getting it's due. // Son Volt > Wilco
  10. ^ Is a gratious webhost that I have shared about 50 words with. << Can't wait until PPP when we can actually hang out a bit
  11. ^ It is a very comfortable ride, but not perfect for my build (6'3"). I hope to buy some forward controls this summer to help. Pros: Smooth (even with chain drive) ride Mucho Power Heavy enough not to get blown around on the highway Cons: Not a whole lot of highend (it really screams on the highway) It will do until I get my dream ride. FLHRCI Road King - Harley Davidson (Dream Bike)
  12. ^ Glad to hear that you are willing to help. It is not a problem at all that you won't wait long for a particular ride. This only helps the system. The database should reflect the wait times of all types of people. Not just the ones who stand in line for 2 hours to ride a SLC.
  13. Nice tat. I guess I am the second person to admit I have a "Sun" perfectly embedded on my back. Although, mine clocked in around 6 hours. 3 Total and the other 2 are artsy fartsy symbols from 15th century printmaking (Aldus Manutius & Albrecht Durer's Printmarks). One on each arm. If I can catch Jeff Zuck (http://www.prickmag.net) the next time he is at my friend's shop, Seascape with Mt. Fuji, by Hokusai will be the next. Seascape with Mt. Fuji Aldus Manutius & Albrecht Durer's Printmarks
  14. ^ It must be because of all them dumb-ass kids riding wheelies down the freeway and doing endos at stop lights. Personally I have never seen a cruiser doing this. // Stop .... Drop .... Shut down, open up shop. Whoa .... Whoa .... yes us rough rider's roll.
  15. If it was built be S&S, you better believe that thing would be loud. Anyone who has stood in line for HyperXLC would most likely agree.
  16. ^ The only TTD times that i have in there now are mine, and I am pretty selective about when I ride it. The best thing about this site, is that the more people use it, the better the data gets. I appreciate any help you can give (this also goes for anybody else).
  17. ^ A big part of that is probably the track itself. Nylon/Poly-whatevertheyuse produces a lot more friction than metal against metal (as found on wood coasters). I firmly believe that if you used the same dimensions found on Shivering Timbers and applied it to a steel coaster, that it would valley every time.
  18. X is a strange ride. Before you get on it, people will say so many bad things about it. If you say "Is it any good?" they usually respond with "It is unlike any other thing you have ever rode". It was a lot more enjoyable the first year that I rode it, but it was pretty harsh this year. While I respect it's uniqueness, I have never been a big fan of coasters that you have to ride with a defensive style.
  19. It is all a matter of opinion. I too, would not put Wicked Twister that high (personally the whole impulse thing doesn't do much for me). My list Millie Vanilli A TTD B+ Raptor B+ Magnum B- WildCat B- Bluestreak C+ Wicked Twister C Gemini C Disaster Transport C- Iron Dragon C- Corkscrew C- Cedar Creek Mine Ride D Mantis D Mean Streak F
  20. ^ I have seen the Rescue 911 (or was it realTV) show on this event and I can confirm that it was the wheel assembly. The passenger described it as "grinding to a stop". They hung there for a good bit too, before being removed with a "cherry-picker".
  21. --- The following plug has received a blessing from the highest source --- I have been toying with a little project for a while now. It is a simple interface to keep track of wait times at American Amusement Parks. I have added all of my waits from the last six months and some of the visitors to my website have been kind enough to add theirs. The goal is to create a "one-stop-shop" where everyone can enter their wait times from a recent park visit and retrieve information that may help in planning future trips. At this time the data is divided into: Park / Coaster Time of Day Month of Year Day of Week Right now, the project is in testing mode. After the site goes live, the information will be available to anyone who wants it (via XML). I only hope that enough people will contribute to make the data worthwhile. The season is just starting, so add your wait times and before you know it a great resource will exist. Here is the address: http://www.whentoride.com Thank You whentoride.com
  22. My insurance is $160/year. Most bike insurance is not as bad as people think. This is my current ride 2000 Suzuki Marauder 800 - custom pipes - re-jetted
  23. He will be voted out next week. He was on the fringe anyway. This will be enough to send him packing. Goodbye .... female vote.
