  1. That's a little disappointing to hear about the Huss Tri-Star. I had envisioned it as 3 mini Enterprise wheels rotating around the tower with each wheel fully inverting the riders. Someone please build an Enterprise version!
  2. That's some really exciting news. Congrats Shane, and I'm looking forward to seeing this development grow!
  3. I've always wanted to ride the Huss Tri-Star. It just looks so cool! I believe there was some New England park that had one at one time and was demolished not too long ago IIRC. I had that same Intamin catalog and am still kicking myself for letting it disappear. Yes, everyone go like Shane's AA Facebook page. He's already posted some amazing stuff there!
  4. I just got an email from Beech Bend: This weekend is the last operating weekend of 2012.
  5. That's interesting about Thunderhead. I'd be curious to know more exactly what GCI did to it. Was it more extensive than just replacing some rotting wood in a few places?
  6. I think this would qualify as a rare credit. Wonder how many times those people went around? I remember seeing this in the parade. Thanks for posting this Bob!
  7. It's always interesting to visit Athens for me strictly because of the 80's music scene that came from there (ie R.E.M., B-52's, amongst others like the db's, Dreams So Real, etc.) and the 40 Watt.
  8. Oh yeah I remember hearing about that incident now. Well just another reason to get back to SFOT as if Giant and Shock Wave weren't enough.
  9. Chuck, what happened that you didn't get to ride JRS at the NTAG bash last year?
  10. The only thing that would make this better is replacing the chairs with flying scooters...and fire.
  11. Hey Colin...great news about Thunderhead. Thanks for getting back to me so fast!
  12. Congrats Colin! Also, I have a question. I saw in your GCI blog that you're going to Dollywood to do some work on Thunderhead. I'm planning a trip there over Labor Day weekend, so I was wondering if Thunderhead will be down for you guys to work on it during that time. Any idea? Thanks in advance!
  13. I love the John Miller style drops going all the way down to the ground. Everything about how this coaster looks screams amazing so far. Thanks for the tour and photos!
  14. I remember that Mind Bender tv commercial from the 70's. As I recall it had a knight in armor riding the coaster and at the end the knight lifted his helmet to reveal a kid. I've searched the interwebs to find it with no luck, but I would love to see the commercial again. Great photos of what is still my fav Schwarzkopf.
  15. Excellent trip report Divv!
  16. This waterslide video trumps anything ever shown on the Travel Channel's "Extreme Water Parks" show. AMAZING! Thanks, Hanno!
  17. We have a Corky's here in Nashville too, but I've never tried it. I think it's a must do now. Love this BBQ update, Larry. Thanks for making me hungry at midnight.
  18. Anton wears red and blue really well! SWEET.
  19. Comic Con 2012...is it already that time of year again?! SERIOUSLY??? Each year I usually try to do a little tie-in with arguably the world's most epic comic convention. So in the spirit of all things comic as well as the new Dark Knight Rises flick, here's an oldie...no I mean an OLDIE. It's AstroWorld's Batman The Escape along with the 1983 park brochure... R.I.P Batman... or will you rise again in NY one day? Sigh Sorry Disney but this really should've been named Tron-evator. The cars even look like they were influenced by the movie and the evil MCP! FACT: One can never have too much Schwarzkopf (or Texas Cyclone for that matter). Whatever happened to the Rapids Nerd? TRAGIC.
  20. Man, I really miss hanging out in Europe.
  21. I like these updates, Larry. What's the latest on SFStL's drunken barrels ride? Is it *STILL* sitting there dormant?
  22. Wow Kennywood's Black Widow looks great. Thanks for those photos, Geauga Dog.
  23. Wow, this ride looks awesome and the next best thing to an Anton shuttle loop. Thanks for the report, Bob, and I hope we see a lot more of these pop up.
  24. Unforunately, the Grizzly River Rampage rock work and river path has all been removed now that Opry Mills has reopened. I was there just the past week, and it's just a big green lawn space now sadly.
