  1. At one time Schwarzkopf and Intamin worked together. You can see how the companies mixed in this Intamin ride catalog: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1230545#p1230545
  2. What's wrong with the Hannibarrels that the ride can't just be fixed and reopened?
  3. Oh yes the Japanese ice houses! Those were such a relief. Thanks for the photo, Bill, and have a blast for me!
  4. Loads of retro Schwarzkopfian/Intamin goodness in this thread. Thanks for sharing.
  5. Japan is absolutely tops in the most amazing places I've ever visited with Robb and Elissa, & friends, and here's a postcard from my first ever TPR trip back in '07. Thanks again Robb, Elissa, and friends I made on this trip. I'm quite envious of all you current TPR Japan trip participants! Mind that red button, Chuck!
  6. Great recap of all your adventures in Mexico, Bill. Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed it all immensely. Happy belated 60th too by the way!
  7. Have not been to KW in ages but your pics make me anxious to get back there again and also to a first time Waldameer visit. Thanks for sharing!
  8. I think that the two French parks, Futuroscope and Puy Du Fou, which placed in the top 20 Euro parks was the biggest surprise for me since I can't recall ever hearing about them before until now.
  9. I love this thread already, Robin! Here's my entry, the dragon (or is it a snake?) from Starliner at defunct Miracle Strip. Photo credit from RCDB (Joe Schwartz)
  10. ^There are single rider lines for Mammoth and Wildebeest too.
  11. The facial expressions from the Chinese on FOM are the best! Nice airtime shots...love seeing the road wheels lifting! Thanks for sharing, Hanno.
  12. Anybody know what's the latest with this park? Is Nightmare just sitting there waiting for Prince Desmond?
  13. I've always wondered why Chance hasn't (to my knowledge) manufactured a beefier park version of the Zipper. I envision it with open carriages allowing your feet to dangle and with OTSR's (sort of like the Intamin Zac Spin coaster carriages).
  14. ^ That ride ended up being far more intense than I thought it would be!
  15. This is how I remember the park from my childhood. Great to see the old pic of the Drunken Barrels which if I remember correctly were located in the Lick Skillet section of the park. I'd forgotten that the Mind Bender area was once themed as Jolly Roger's Island too. Thanks for sharing!
  16. ^^ August in Atlanta equals UGH unless you enjoy extreme heat and humidity. If you can postpone to a weekend later in mid to late September I think you'd enjoy the park more.
  17. I enjoyed this tour of NYC towers. The Gehry building (assuming it's Frank) looks a little understated to me compared to some of his other works. I think I saw some Keith Haring sculpture too(?). Thanks for sharing!
  18. Wow I can do without the Audioslave, but the other album covers are iconic for great bands.
  19. I love the carpet and retro feel! Bowling always kills my knuckles, thus why I'm not too into it, but this place looks stellar. Thanks for the pics!
  20. This is an interesting start. Looking forward to seeing more, Larry.
  21. Wow thank you for sharing all of these AMAZING photos...so many beautiful rides! It is odd to see those newer looking trains on Teststrecke instead of the older familiar Schwarzkopf design. Were those made by Intamin?
  22. I absolutely LOVED my visit to IB back in 2004 but was thoroughly disgruntled to hear of more recent reports. It sounds like the park might - MIGHT - be finally getting their act back together this year. We'll see...fingers crossed.
