  1. Brilliant! This reminds me of all the spook houses my friends and I used to build in their basement when we were kids. Thanks for sharing this awesome neighborhood haunt!
  2. Happy Halloween TPR friends...from Tokyo Disneyland! Even Lock, Shock, and Barrel are here! Have a howling good time!
  3. If possible, I don't know why you wouldn't just wait and go with Robb and Elissa on a TPR tour when they do these same parks. You're going to get TONS more bang for your krone and probably make quite a few lifetime friends too if you go with TPR.
  4. I think I counted 4 lift hills on the new Smoky Mountain Alpine Coaster: This is a must do on my next trip to Pigeon Forge!
  5. This looks awesome! I want a scary good cupcake now. Thanks for sharing your photos Robb!
  6. Oh noooooo not the end of this amazing trip report. I hate to see it end...it was so much F U N. I'm glad you shared your TPR travels with us. Thank you Marcel...now to get back over to Germany and all the amazing parks there!
  7. Continuing with my previous post, here's more of the Merry-Go-Round Museum near Cedar Point in downtown Sandusky. I actually don't think I knew this place existed when I started my trip but just happened to drive by it on the way to CP, so I had to check it out. It was a nice break from CP, and their Allen Herschell carousel is gorgeous (although I still think Toshimaen's Dorado is THE most beautiful of all). Anyway I digress...Check it out when in the area! Raise your hand if you love a good merry-go-round ride! The difference between a merry-go-round and a carousel is...well apparently debatable: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=743058#p743058 Let's joust!
  8. This is excellent! I love swinging ship rides. What is the blog hinting at today? Looks like possibly stacks of coaster wood.
  9. Lap Bar only. KK shakes a lot as it accelerates. That certainly makes a lot of sense then. Thanks for the education!
  10. Voodoo Trail sounds like it was a lot of fun. I can just imagine a TPR takeover!
  11. This is a really fun and awesome trip report. I look forward to more! Thanks for sharing!!!
  12. I'm still intrigued by the mention of a Voodoo Trail ride. What is that???
  13. Being a native Alabamian, I was always kinda intrigued by AMG but have never checked it out. Might have to visit soon. Thanks for your pics!
  14. ^ Danke Thri!!er. Glad you enjoyed this update. I have seen a lot of people comment that Kingda Ka is not as good as TTD, but since KK was regretfully broken down on my one visit to SFGAdv, I would love to know why some people prefer TTD over KK.
  15. I have been slacking on my updates, but here is a bit of nostalgia from my one and only visit to Cedar Point back in August 2003, exactly 10 years ago this week. Top Thrill Dragster had just opened that year - can't believe it's been 10 years already or that I waited over 3 hours to ride it (boooo to all the breakdowns it used to have)! So here are some TTD postcards I bought on that trip plus an old 1982 CP brochure from my vault...and an extra bonus at the end.
  16. ^^ Or as some here like to call it...the metal building \m/ .
  17. The most famous piece of coaster track in the world? Tune in tomorrow.
  18. ^ I would love to see that brochure. Please share.
  19. What exactly is RMC doing to TR? Inquiring minds want to know. I look forward to hearing more about this "transformation?".
  20. Hey Peter, great photos! I LOVE that Helix car. WOW! I really hope I can get back to Liseberg to experience this coaster someday. Thanks for showing it to us.
  21. Dollywood's and Silver Dollar City's are easily the two best in the world.
  22. I LOVE Japan! I'm surprised TDL doesn't have a mayonnaise flavored popcorn as popular as mayo is there (still can't believe I ordered a mayo pizza in Tokyo without realizing but it was good!). Awesome updates. Love it! Thanks Robb.
  23. Wow...super fast responses guys. Thanks for all the help with finding Meteor (glad to know the name & manufacturer now)! Great to see the vids and diagram (thanks for embedding the vids, Peter). I really enjoyed this ride as a kid. Yes, it really was exciting to climb the stairs and choose which circle to sit on. Bill, that's a great analogy to the fancy Scrambler wedding cake haha. It truly was a gorgeous ride to see operating in person, and a ton of fun to ride. Wish these rides were still being made today. EDIT to add I can't think of anywhere else on the net I could post a question like this and get such fast accurate replies including links, a mechanical diagram, AND videos. TPR members truly are the best!
  24. I'd like some help knowing the name (and manufacturer if possible) of this rare flat ride shown here at the 1962 Seattle World's Fair. No, it's not a Watkins Hustler. There were 3 large platforms with benches. This ride came with a carnival to my small town in Alabama when I was a kid, and it's one of the first flats I can ever remember riding, so I hope someone here can help me. Thanks!
