The "Post your middle name" Thread

Emery. (I also learned today that one of my favorite radio/TV hosts' middle name is Edward Lee) -

The Orange Bowl is one stadium that I hoped to visit. At least I have been to: Riverfront Stadium, Cincinnati Busch Stadium, St. Louis (1966-2005) Market Square Arena, Indianapolis RFK Stadium, Washington DC (still home to DC United, but this stadium will eventually go) RCA Dome, Indianapolis (Will be torn down after Colts open the new Lucas Stadium) -
Now that I'm in Columbus, I mostly listen to 92.3 (country) and 96.3 (classic rock.)

"Think your head hurts now?! Here are two tickets to Sunday's Bengals game at Paul Brown Stadium. Against the Patriots. You HATE Tom Brady." So, before leaving Cincinnati, we went to the game...

Some days I wish I were living in Indianapolis. Yeah, there'd be the occasional bummer Sunday, but I like the colors and the players. On the other hand, I don't feel too bad living near a college football powerhouse, where the Colts' Anthony Gonzalez played.

Politically Incorrect Coaster Names
CoastersNSich replied to Millenniumguy's topic in Random, Random, Random
I'm assuming that Cedar Fair is relocating the Beaver Land Mine Ride from Geauga Lake. To keep the theme while changing the name, they should rename it "The Grove of Eglantine" (a lesser known Styx song from 1973). It has the same double entendre as Beaver Land.... -
One of my favorite singers is Maureen McGovern. I especially love her recordings from the 1970s.

TV, Movie writers say they will go on strike.
CoastersNSich replied to BelizeIt's topic in Random, Random, Random
Hey! I happen to enjoy COPS a lot. At least they don't try to copy off of Nickelodeon game shows from the 80s and 90s, use adults, and label it "Reality TV" (i.e. Survivor). America's Most Wanted is good too. A long strike is going to f**king hurt. I need my monologues, top tens, and Colbert! And most of all, SNL needs to bring back the "Terget Lady!" -
Pointless new attractions
CoastersNSich replied to DBru's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I still say that with Tomb Raider at Kings Island, they made little point putting a big metal beige box in Rivertown. The hydroflume that once sat there made far more sense, and was far more family-friendly. Wasn't that what (P)KI was all about at the time? At Cedar Point, Wicked Twister's a fun ride, but I think they put it in solely to increase the coaster count. As one of the last posters said, Magnum does a lot more along Lake Erie with better capacity. -
Major League Baseball Thread

Kevin Youkilis of the Sox and I both went to the same undergrad school, the University of Cincinnati, so I say go Sox! Sure, he was a senior on the baseball team at the time, and I was a freshman in the urban planning program. Either way, Youk and Me have something in common. -
As for grocery store self-checkouts, I hear Wal-Mart is not putting them in in their newest stores. Too much trouble for their clientele? Seriously, two chains that have not just self-checkouts, but also large-order self checkouts, are Meijer and Giant Eagle... the stores with them definitely deserve my business. I used Greyhound to get between Cincinnati and Columbus this weekend, and their terminal signage is bilingual (English and Spanish) as well. Sears has been doing this for years, too. Are these companies desperate?! I might try Megabus next time for inter-city travel. Not to mention Greyhound's announcements almost sound like Charlie Brown's teacher. (wa-wa-wah-wah-wa-wa-wah)

List the parks you visited in 2007
CoastersNSich replied to Groteslurf's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Kings Island (20-30 times) Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom (April, and August during KY State Fair) Cedar Point Geauga Lake Six Flags America Stricker's Grove 3 Cedar Fair Parks 2 Six Flags Parks 1 Family-owned small park A combination of my financial situation, third shift job, and grad school restricted me to my super-region. But a short drive to Columbus got me access to a plane, metro rail, and transit bus, and therefore, SFA* Trip was NOT specifically for SFA. It's just that I could get there without paying out the ass to drive and/or park, so a few hours or so there made sense. S:ROS was worth the trek on Metro from DC. -
Dominator track at KD
CoastersNSich replied to Clint Novak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Geauga Lake's big loss is Kings Dominion's big gain. If my home park had to pick a coaster from GL, it would be Dominator. I hope they keep the Dominator name, because of the park's name... Dominator Dominion, Kings -
I laughed so loud I wouldn't be surprised if someone heard me next door. And my walls are made of cinderblock.

Photo Mini TR: Carrabba's and Kroger

Kroger is an overall good chain store to shop at. Some of their stores are very friendly, clean, and able to get you checked out in almost no time. Other stores can be holes. -

I got back not too long ago from the Blue Jackets' home opener against the Ducks at Nationwide Arena. 4-0 shutout over Anaheim. So much for being the defending cup champs! -
What Is Your Favorite TPR Picture From The Websight?

I've met this cool buddy at my dorm in grad school/college, but the other night, he has this hankering to go out innto the fraternity area and then to the bar and meet girls. I act cautious, more because I'm REALLY tired and not in the mood. He won't say so, but I've got this feeling he thinks I'm gay or something. I admit beer and girls aren't my priority right now, and yes, I'd like to socilaize with some girls over some beer, but does my "cold feet" mean something, uh, deeper?

Ghost Hunt at the Ohio State Reformatory
CoastersNSich replied to Supernatural Anaesthetist's topic in Random, Random, Random
Somewhat related was the Ohio State Penitentiary in Columbus, on the northern edge of Downtown. The prison was located here from 1834 until 1984. There were some big riots in its time, as well as a fire in 1930 that killed over 300 inmates. It was torn down in 1995, to make way for the Nationwide Arena and surrounding Arena District. There's not only a legend of hauntings in the Pen's later years, but apparently the Nationwide Arena may be haunted too; the escalators would be turned on when the building was/is otherwise empty. -
Styx - The Grand Illusion Electric Light Orchestra - A New World Record Kansas - Point of Know Return Now, I would recommend most albums from those groups, but those are the ones you MUST have if you like those bands. Also: The Cars' first self-titled album Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
