  1. These are more of spelling than grammar: Example 3: "There are too mank breaks on this coaster!" How about There are too many brakes on this coaster!? Example 4: "The kids were playing around in the FireHawk que" Try The kids were playing around in the Firehawk queue, butthead!
  2. "Old School." "Music in the Parks." aka 'Yay, I get to be around bratty girls who talk as loud as they can and hold up the lines!'
  3. "Consumer Reports" a.k.a. Credit Checks for people who NEED a job the most. "Sorry, you can't pay off your overdue bills because we can't hire you because you're unable to pay your overdue bills." Yes, the financial/credit business loves to talk out their assholes.
  4. My 11th grade English teacher constantly said "Be CP!" That meant 'be College Prep' NO, he was not telling us to go to Cedar Point! Back to Cincinnati TV news, we have a station whose slogan that is "Where The News Comes First." What comes second?!!
  5. Some Cincinnati TV stations: "Changes are coming to a local international airport. More at 11" (The Louisville airport? Dayton?) Top Story "Kings Island raising ticket prices!" I kid you not. (Yes, they're doing away with the "Pay Once Visit Twice" plan, raising the two day price to something like $60 - though they did lower the day ticket to $45.)
  6. What are some of the things you hear or see that make you cringe? It could be from a boss, co-worker, the media... "Let's bust out some work." - classmate in college/planning school "The Best of Hollywood Entertainment. Now Playing." "I will never raise your taxes."
  7. Xanadu (1980). It starred Olivia Newton-John, and was one of Gene Kelly's last films. Yes, it was badly panned. It was directed by Robert Greenwald, a liberal filmmaker who did later documentaries like "Out-Foxed" and "Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price." However... it has IMO one of the BEST soundtracks, with four songs by Electric Light Orchestra, one of my all-time favorite bands! And the title song by ELO and ONJ is one to remember.
  8. "Fooling Yourself (The Angry Young Man)" - Styx "Livin' Thing" - Electric Light Orchestra "Steppin' Out" - Joe Jackson "Lido Shuffle" - Boz Scaggs
  9. Not a TV commercial, but on the radio: A Pepsi ad for "Hip-Hop-era." This is played FREQUENTLY duuring Reds baseball broadcasts on 700 WLW.
  10. I think I'm mostly straight. I've never really dated anyone. On the other hand, I'm not afraid to look at good-looking men.
  11. Did anyone see that O.J. Simpson was kicked out of Jeff Ruby's steakhouse in Louisville on the weekend of the Kentucky Derby? Ruby himself did the favor, and the clientele applauded O.J.'s expulsion. They were also happier with the celebrity who took the table - Michael Jordan. Now, Simpson's lawyer is claiming racism. "Wolf! Fire!" http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070509/NEWS/70509002/ Now, what's at question here is, can you remove someone and/or refuse service?
  12. I love seeing downtown photo threads! The Westin tower looks great - it's very clean and sleek looking.
  13. I'm as straight as the Kings Island Racer... remember, it sways in another direction before the turn-around. Crappy analogy?
  14. ...fat broads, who sports talk Andy Furman claims to have already found. He also sees Larry the Cable Guy taking a big dump in the woods. Appalled, he tells Larry to..
  15. I wasn't the only one saying this during that ride when I did it last year. It was that painful.
  16. The latest reason to sing "God Bless America": http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8OTS26G3&show_article=1 Paris Hilton gets 45 days.
  17. ... name a coaster of his own after another Terry. Bradshaw. Yes, the one who was naked in Failure to Launch, which prompts Shapiro to hold a publicity stunt where all of the riders are wearing...
  18. As of right now.... - Blue Indianapolis Colts t-shirt with the big white horseshoe on it. And I've owned it for a few years, in case you're wondering. - AE shorts - Hanes Classics underwear (I'm a little cheap. It's underwear!) - No shoes or socks. Remember I'm on the computer in my bedroom, not long from bedtime. Shortly, I'll be wearing at most the t-shirt when I go to bed.
  19. ...system of escalators that change speed based upon usage, and automatically reverse when 3/4 of an event has taken place. Oh! and there will also be a monorail that will take patrons to...
  20. ...roller coasters have been banned after a bad accident on one over 75 years ago. Mr. Kinzel instead decides to build a sports arena there called...
  21. Wow. First, people can't smoke in Ohio bars and clubs. Now our legislators think the state's top priority is how far we can get to strippers. I guess in '08 and '10 we'll replace some of the far right with the far left after this. Suuurrre, they could take a stab at making Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, and other big cities safer. They could develop a plan to better manage growth and make the cities viable again. Hell, fix up the schools we have and put some good teachers and students in them. But NOOOO, smoking and strip clubs are sooo much more important.
  22. I know that this is a Sanjaya thread, and I'm glad he's gone, but... Now any interest in this season has plummeted now since both Chris Richardson AND Phil Stacey are gone. They actually not only had great voices, but look great too. Oh well, this show isn't going to last forever anyway...
  23. Does anyone remember when pornographic scenes appeared on VHS copies of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?"
  24. I'm not a fan of all-black football uniforms myself. My undergrad school here in Cincinnati (the Bearcats) wore the all-black uniforms at home, and it's like they're more there for some flashy hip-hop fashion show than a football game. There's also an Arena Football 2 team here that has an obsession with black (and knowing their nickname, an obsession with the nearby NFL team, too). At least my grad school's university football team, just about 100 miles to the north up I-71, won't be doing that stuff, either. Their gray pants with scarlet (or white) jerseys just work better. Hell, plain ol' white pants and jerseys look cool to me.
