  1. I wonder if that distinction also belongs to Gilbert Gottfried? Or is he one of the few people to speak in bold without a keyboard. Or both? "Son of a BITCH!!!"
  2. Hippies... one of the things that got on the nerves of my old troubled friend. He hates Apple and their products because supposedly Steve Jobs "was once a 70s hippie." No offense, but give me a product that's easy to use and good looking, I could care less who the CEOs support politically. My old friend likes Dell because they're the "good old boys" and Mr. Dell supports Republicans.... Yes. However, Dell rhymes with Hell in my book... I've had numerous problems with their products, and customer service takes work trying to understand. This isn't meant to be another Mac vs. PC debate, but some people make the lamest arguments.
  3. No offence, but he doesn't sound mentally stable... None taken. In fact, you're not the only one to say that. I ran into him the other night, and I broached the idea of hanging out after finals were done, but the bad experiences made it difficult to call him back. I was getting back after a hockey game, and had my hands full being with, well, better people, so I passed on calling.
  4. I'm not sure this necessarily makes him a coaster enthusiast - many people from all over love Disneyland. But I can say that I'm a Jason Mraz fan.
  5. ^ Wow, this reminds me of somebody that I thought was my best friend. For some odd reason he became really stubborn with me, and decided to fight me to settle something. He became bitter with me because I'm long time Colts fan, and he's "stuck" with the Bengals, and when he was knocked out in a play on Madden video game, he just snapped. He became concerned with me having "homosexual tendencies" and whenever I asked what he was doing or told him to "take care," he also got pissy. The last straw came a couple months ago when I wanted to look at his computer to log onto the internet for something I wanted to check, he screamed at me, and upstairs neighbors above his apartment called the police, and we haven't spoken to each other since. The guy was pretty interesting, had a lot of life experience, especially in the military, but has turned to be stubborn, insensitive, and not only insulting to me but even to women he's dated. Honestly, one of my last concerns of people is their sexuality, and if he wants to have fear of different people governing his life, he can go ahead and do so, but I just don't want any part of that.
  6. Wasn't Mr. Six introduced just right before Six Flags sold their NE Ohio park to Cedar Fair? Anyhow, bravo to Six Flags! Yeah, they tried those "More Flags! More Fun!" but I don't think it would have ever endured like Mr. Six has. Not to mention the guy in the More Flags! ads drew allegations of Asian stereotypes. Weird as he is, Mr. Six is someone people actually identify with the parks.
  7. I dunno... I can't get enough of Costco's pizza! Unfortunately my family hasn't had a membership there in a while, but recently got it back, so I'll have to come back around spring break.
  8. So, why are you having Christmas in the middle of summer? And what are iPods like in the year 2095? That one doesn't look too different than the one I got for Christmas 2007.
  9. Good stuff. Besides noticing the similarity to FD3, I also remember the whistling noise from the farting dog at the beginning of the BonBonLand video that TPR did.
  10. I can definitely say that I was entertained. I don't think anyone can ever match Freddie Mercury but this was awesome, especially with the backup singers.
  11. Since I've last posted, I saw Will Ferrell (along with Nick Swardson and a couple of others) at a big show on the OSU campus. I've also seen Jimmy Fallon and Daniel Tosh here, the latter who I had my photo taken with. I loved seeing Fallon, not only is he replacing Conan on NBC's Late Night, but for his "Barry Gibb Talk Show" and "Z105" bits from SNL. Honestly, there's very few comedians that I have a real dislike of. There's some that get on my nerves, because they stick to the same stuff too much, and/or get too political. I saw Colbert on CBS' Early Show this morning, and he was a true riot, plugging his upcoming Christmas special. When the CBS hosts said that Colbert is funny just looking at him without the sound, I think they said it all about him.
  12. That commercial reminds me of this one from Nationwide:
  13. For the first time in a while, I had my car filled up at $3.79/gal, anticipating a severe price hike. Around Cin city, prices last I heard were up to $3.99 and up to $4.15 in N.Ky. I have heard of rationing and outages, maybe around here, but nothing too bad.
  14. This one I came across related to your second favorite... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F7PMIRCXOxQ&feature=related It's definitely got a targeted audience, though I enjoyed the bar commercial more, just too funny!
  15. This week, Bengals tickets were going as low as $16. Even though the game is sold out, season ticket holders are already frustrated after the loss to Baltimore, but that may change if there's a home win vs. Titans on Sunday. Last time I heard there's still a good deal of below face value tickets available, though it's drawn interest of buyers who'd like to see a possibly exciting game. On the other hand, there aren't as good deals for games against Pittsburgh or Cleveland because their fans are everywhere, and will pay good money to see their favorite team(s).
  16. Having a 3rd-gen nano, I don't really like the design of the 4th gen ones that much, though they are an improvement over the first two. However I am looking to replace my 4th gen monocrhome 40 GB iPod from 2004. Though it holds all my music, it crapped out sometime this spring, probably the battery, and its hard drive was screwy. The latest Classic is cheap considering its capacity, but I wish they offered a 60 GB model for under $200 "I'm just sayin." The fact it's video-capable is great, but I'm a bit weary of hard drives since the other iPods are all now flash drives-no moving parts. For the physical size, I think I'd might as well consider a Touch. It's more expensive than the classic, and less capacity, but it does SO much more.. widescreen and wifi, to start! A great companion when on a lengthy bus ride. I SO wish I could have an iPhone, but knowing my money situation, and the not-so-sweetheart tie with AT&T, I'll have to pass.
  17. Here it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlhGlSY7nrM Not the best quality but you can really get an idea of what I'm talking about. I know that IKEA has racier commercials outside the US, but at least they're not being too Puritan here.
  18. In Cincinnati, Martha Stewart was switched to the digital CW station 12.2, so The Doctors is now on 12 WKRC in Martha's time slot 9am. Also, Merv Griffin's Crosswords, which was on at 10:30, was bumped to the CW for Millionaire reruns. The new Millionaire shows are on the same time slot, 4:30 pm on Ch 12. As for Howie, I bet he does his no-handshake for his personality more thatn deadly fears of germs. The germophobia is also why he shaves his head, not sure if he's really losing hair or not. I'm also wondering why the NBC version of DOND is not in HD. Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen syndicated programs in HD, generally only the broadcast networks do that.
  19. Today was the start of a new season for some syndicated shows, most notably Who Wants to Be A Millionaire, as well as the start of the syndicated version of Deal or No Deal. Meredith Vieira is back for her 7th season hosting Millionaire, and this season comes the biggest changes since she was tapped to host the syndie version. The most noticeable was the addition of a time clock to gameplay. Contestants have 15 seconds for the $100-$1000 questions, 30 sec for the $2000-$25000 questions, and 45 seconds for the last part. If the player runs out of time (failing to say 'Final Answer'), he or she is forced out with what they've earned so far. There's also changes to lifelines: Gone are '50-50' and 'Switch the Answer.' There's now 'Phone-A-Friend', where the player's friends have their picture and location on screen; 'Ask the Audience'; and 'Double Dip,' last used in Super Millionaire. Here, the player gets two chances to answer the question correctly, but once used, he/she MUST answer it. And after answering the $1000 question, the 'Ask the Expert' lifeline is added. They communicate via Skype video to a famous person, like a scientist (Bill Nye was on today) academic, celebrity, or athlete. They also updated the music and graphic packages. Another neat feature is that the categories of all the questions is shown throughout the game. Of course, the game clock is paused while using a lifeline. Also starting today was the syndicated Deal or No Deal. Howie Mandel is doing this one too, but the top value is $500,000 and there are fewer cases. The models have been replaced with contestants who open the cases while in the running to play. At the start of each game, a new contestant is selected via a ball lottery from the pool holding the cases. The contestant selected takes her/his case with them (but they can choose another one if they want), and the gameplay is from there is similar to that of the NBC show. Anyone else seen these shows, or looking forward to them?
  20. Earlier today I saw an IKEA commercial where a toddler puts his potty seat on top of the couch, and he takes his diaper off... We don't see much more, but the announcer is talking about couch covers... I don't remember it too much, hopefully it'll repeat soon as there's an IKEA nearby.
  21. Agreed. Too bad people have taken them and other behemoths to cut off the average folk on the roads, and help to double gas prices within just a few years. Oh, and awesome PTR... I need to get down to Atlanta!
  22. I'm so hungry, I could eat at Arby's!
  23. There was a also a link to TE Jason Witten riding the Superman tower ride. He's an awesome tight end with an awesome tight end... and smile. And if I were Terrance Newman, I wouldve started on a more conventional coaster... maybe Judge Roy Scream, but maybe that's just me.
  24. If people think that McCain picked Sarah Palin solely because of the gender opportunity, then they must be naive. Sure, I never heard of her before yesterday, as maybe up 90% (my guess), but the first thing I did was learn about her. - As mayor of a city, albeit a small one, she fired city officials she felt were doing a poor job. - As governor, she sold off the jet plane that the previous Republican governor bought (on eBay), and was at odds with Congressman Ted Stevens and Senator Don Young on spending, especially the "bridge to nowhere." - As governor, she is also the head of the Alaska National Guard. - Palin has also been the past (and present) owner of small businesses. Palin's executive experience is very key as to why she was selected - and much of her background was key to getting McCain conservative voters that may have been lukewarm about John. Back to the R vs D generality stuff - if I were to describe myself, I'd be a classic Democrat, maybe even a classic liberal. I believe in programs (although limited) to help people, supporting the military. Though I'm pro-life, I still believe in individual liberties rather than nanny state laws like smoking and trans-fat bans. Labor unions? That I'm not so sure about. When I see a Democrat who doesn't cater to the hard left, I'll vote for him/her. But for 2008, it'll be McCain/Palin for me. While I admire Obama's rise to fame and power and his passion for change, I question his relative inexperience, plus his support of the "Fairness Doctrine" as well as of his scheme to get Walmart to unionize. I thought that service at Walmart was bad non-union... Obama wants our government to be our "great saviour," and that bothers me. Oh, and I'm neither rich nor religious.
  25. This one is just too wrong... Reminds me of the Ferryman Funeral song on "WKRP in Cincinnati." Funny and catchy, but in bad taste.
