From what i've been on... Blue Streak (CP) - simply stunning Wicked Twister (CP) - the back is absolutly amazing, better than TTD's twisted drop DeJa Vu (SFGAm or anywhere else for that matter) - when it's up and running, it is my second favortie at the park Raging Bull (SFGAm) - twist and drops > drops The Boss (SFStL) - first double down drop rocks, very suprising Mr Freeze (SFStL) - that top hat backwards is very cool The Legend (HW) - better than raven Tennessee Tornado (DW) - how can you not love it

TR: Holiday World & SFKK (5-12-07)
ConleyKE replied to JNoonez's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Glad you had a great time at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom! I know this park gets a lot of criticism (including from me sometimes), but my homepark has really improved from last year to today. I agree with basically all that you said, and you're really great at explaining things. SFKK layout sucks! Waterpark stuck in the middle = no room for expansion. I can't believe that they found room for Deluge this year. Besides, it's a pain to walk all the way around the water park to hit all the rides. Haha, very true! I don't know what part of the ride you are talking about, but I'm assuming its the little bunny hop directly before the MCBR, which I think is the best part of the whole coaster. As for Twisted Twins, in the what seems like hundreds of times I've been at SFKK, whenever they have both sides opperating, they have ALWAYS been racing and/or (lack of) dueling. Big kudos from an opperational stand point. And yes, that "nail on chalboard" like sound is unbarable, especially the very last unbanked helix on the green train side. Other than that, I do disagree on Holiday World (but I'm sure you've been expecting that). Great TR! -

I'm jealous! Renegade looks amazing. Glad you had fun. BTW I know that the supports on Intamin Impulse coasters only go about half-way up the spikes, but is it just me or does Steel Venom look like it's about to topple in that first picture? Either that or the picture is just slightly tilted. -

Looks like you had a fun time! Power Surge looks awesome. I believe there is one at Beech Bend, and im really hoping to get down there this summer. Tip: You might want to be sure your pictures are a bit smaller, and then even if they are a little blurry, they wont look as bad. -
Is anybodys home park their favorite?

Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. . . (no comment) -
Facing the river, I was on the far right side of the Great Lawn right up against the random mini port inlet thing with some boats docked up. We were almost right under the giant black speaker which is always suspended from a crane.

Awesome pictures! I really want to go back to Dollywood again. Alot has been added the past three years. My younger sister will be at the park tomorow as part of their eight grade trip this weekend in Gatlinburg. Too bad I couldn't go with and chaperone or something. Kevin "yes im jealous of my sister right now" C

I love Thunder over Louisville! I've gone down to the waterfront the past 6 years, and wouldn't miss it for a thing. My father's work use to rent one of the white company cabana like tents with the buffets and stuff, but they stopped it and we have just gone to Waterfront Park the past two years. This year's display was great, but didn't like the music arrangment (the theme this year was Magic, WTF) Anyways, the traffic was horrendous as usual, but watching the "freak show" as my dad calls it while crawling down the highway is always fun. Definitely my favorite Kentucky Derby Festival event, followed by race day itself.

Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom has one (I think it's a Huss). Sorry no pictures. It's one of my favorite flat rides, too! -

I understand that more could have been done to prevent the intensity of this situation, but I believe that it's not the time to be pointing fingers. As for the uninforced lock down and classs cancellations after the first shoting, we all agree that more could and should have been done. However, this whole media argument is unnessesary. They are doing the best they can to release only accurate information at this time as to prevent mass confusion and inaccurate facts. And for the "asian man", it is just for identification. They are not trying to be racist or anything, its just a discription. If it were a white man, they would surley identify him as a white male, not that they are calling anyone out. So please calm down your rants here. This is a tradgic day and all of this blaming is unessesary. What is done is done, and even though we should have learned from these mistakes before hand, it is not the time to critisize their efforts. This event was completely unexpected and can happen to anyone anywhere. So please just show your condolance for these students and their families. Thanks again, Kevin Conley

My brother is a freshman at Virginia Tech in the Corps of Cadets. I'm releaved to report that he is okay. My mother recieved a phone call around 11:30 am from him that he was safe and in lock down in his dorm room. He is in the engineering program and has many friends who were in Norris Hall during the second shoting. He has yet to hear from them all and we are all praying for the best. This horrendous act of insanity has left my family and I, as well as the rest of the nation in shock. So Please, pray for all of the Virgina Tech students, faculuty, and families. My family is very fortunate that my brother has been reported safe, however, others will not be so lucky. Thanks, Kevin Conley

I drove by last Thursday and it's location is very difficult to see from any roads. I believe not much vertical construction has been done yet anyways; just footers, concrete, ground remodeling, and stuff. Perhaps someday this week after school I'll stop by and actualy get out of my car to get a closer view and pictures.

Amazing! I vote option two. I like the idea of a nice curve into the brakerun, and not the uphill slowdown. -
Cornholing coming to GL!
ConleyKE replied to speedracer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Believe me, it's regional. We have two boards, beanbags and all here at my house, and probably every other house down the street. It's very fun and a must at all graduation parties and family outings. (Heck,we played it last tuesday at a Mardi Gras party). It's seemed to even replace DDR and Guitar Hero as the friday night game kids play where I live. As for its appearance at GL, I think it's no big deal. It's just like all the other games you see in amusement parks like throwing balls into baskets and knockng over beer bottle pyramids (what's more hick than that?). Besides, the name really isn't that funny and this shouldn't be bracking or shocking news. Kevin "some people just don't get it do they" C -
Awesome! I think something like this was on some comercial for brandband or Capitol One or something like that a while back. Definitly will have to check these out next time in the Smokeys!
