Photo TR: Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom
ConleyKE replied to haux's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Nice PTR! Glad you had fun. ^ To answer your question, Deluge was kept open untill Fright Fest at the beginning of October. You entered through a back gate over by T2, so you never even had to enter the water park. People were riding with all their clothes, but thankfully it was never too cold. -
Six Flags having a giant sale
ConleyKE replied to RaptorBoyASU's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I wonder if this officially means that SFKK is taking out the Huss Rainbow. It's been rumored for awhile now. They've taken out Quake, Chaos, and now this. We need some flats here Shapiro! -
SFKK Fright Fest questions
ConleyKE replied to DBru's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The sky coaster is currently $15 a person. And the lines really haven't been bad latley, but hit the hunted houses early in the evening as those tend to be the longest lines in the whole park. To bad I'm not working this saturday. It would be nice to meet you. -
Most thrilling drop?
ConleyKE replied to RIP Psyclone's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Demon Drop - It scares me every time! Top Thrill Dragster - It's the launch, not the drop. Twisted Twins - This thing still gets me in the back seat. Others use to give that stomach drop feeling like the first time I rode them but not really anymore, such as MF, Magnum, Tennessee Tornado, Raging Bull, and for some odd reason the Demon (all in the back seat of course). -
Hersheypark Announces Fahrenheit!
ConleyKE replied to Meteornotes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Wow! Ferenheit looks awesome, yet I fell like the whole mysteries and clues never were completed. Many questions were just kind of left unanswered. Granted the whole skyscrappers in Boston might have been just us looking to far into it, and the 11 just being the parks eleventh coaster, but what about the 2 or Z markings all over the nantimi website and at Hersheypark? And all the references to flying in the blog pages? Don't get me wrong, the ride itself and the annoucncment are extremely exciting, but the whole idea just doesn't seem to completley make sence or fit just yet. -
Personally I think it's pretty awesome! Yes it's somewhat short and doesn't launch (even though they already have Stormrunner I thought it would be tight) but it has a VERY unique layout with the norwiegian loop, which by the way looks amazingly fun! I give some props to Hershey and Nantimi, still asuming this is all legit. I'm really curious to see the stats and name of this coaster. Definitly worth a trip up there in my opinion. Just wondering, how did they tell the Nantimi 25; just a link in an email or did they do the nantimi website password thing someone suggested earlier?

I use to think this whole mystery was fun and exciting, but now this thread has just gone out of hand. The BS videos, picutes of poop, overspeculation to probably meaningless things, and the repetation of ideas and clues that have already been discused 5 to 10 pages back is getting riduculous. I think some of you are looking to far into this, like the height of skyscrappers in Boston and the numbers 26 and 27 meaning more than just the date(s) of the announcement. I mean, assuming nantimi is legit, we can obviously see in the pictures vertical lifts and corkscrews, so it's not ground-breaking discovories that need to be addressed in every third post. Sorry if i'm sounding ridicuolous, but that's just how I feel. No matter what, 2008 is going to be an awesome year for Hersheypark and whatever they get I'm sure will be amazing! So patience people, only five more days. - Kevin "I really hope HP is getting a kick out of all this" C

The Official "TPR MidWest USA 2007" Trip Thread!
ConleyKE replied to robbalvey's topic in Photo Trip Report Archive
Hey Robb and Elissa, and everyone else on the Midwest Trip! It was great to finally meet you guys today at SFKK (particularly in the water park). You all were amazing! Glad to hear you really enjoyed Deluge, for it truly is a great ride. I hope you all had a great day, despite the tempetures in the high 90s. And I also hope we left a positive impression, since we were all working hard to make your alls visit fantastic. I'm planning on joining you all next year, perhapes if you do the Northeast Trip in 2008. You all seemed to be having an amazing time and I would love to join you on a trip in the future. Thanks for coming out, and again I hope you all are having a great time! Kevin C -

I was at work at SFKK today, however was in the back end of the park working gift shops in Splashwater Kingdom at the moment. I truly feel terrible for this poor girl and her family. Hopefully this is just a freak accident which now can be prevented elsewhere. I also feel bad for SFKK. This year was definitely looking promising and now this tragic accident. I hope that this doesn't effect everyone's already negative views to SFKK. It could have happened at any park, at anytime, to anyone. Kevin Conley

Hello Jay! I'm very glad to hear from you on the TPR boards. I am a cast member here at SFKK in the retail department and just want to applaud your hard work for our park over the past year. As I am at Kentucky Kingdom nearly everyday, I have noticed first hand all of the improvements added. Not only Deluge and the new kiddy area, but other minor additions are definitely steps in the right direction, such as the Cabanas, Brunch with Bugs, Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream, shadebrellas, cleaner faculties, tons of trash cans, new signs, fresh coats of paint, landscaping, and of corse friendier staff. Honestly, I use to look down upon my homepark in years past, but I am now proud of SFKK and its new positive outlook. We all believe the family friendly approach to management is definitely a change in the right direction. As both a staff member and a guest, I truly appreciate all you have done for Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. Sincerely Kevin Conley

A Story Land Wedding
ConleyKE replied to mrceagle's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
"weeding" ^ Anyways, I think it might just be you Robb. I can see them just fine. And congrats to your brother, mrceagle! That's a really neat/unique idea! -
It opened last weekend. I got to ride it this morning before working there. It's very fun! The magnets don't really kick-in intill about half way up the hills. They propell you forward very fast and you even get a little pop of air at the top of almost every hill! However, I didn't like how you barely even get wet, just some mist in your face. It should almost be out in the regular park, and not the water park imo. I meant to bring my camera, but didn't want to deal with it all day at work. I'll be sure to get some pictures soon. EDIT: I might add that the park is looking really nice this year! New paint jobs on buildings and rides, new signs, landscaping, improved music, and even enough trash cans to make Cedar Fair happy! They have really stepped it up and cleaned alot. Much better than previous years. Kudos Six Flags! I'm afraid that I now won't be able to get some pictures untill next weekend. I work all week from opening to closing, and thus have no free time in the park. My apologes.

Awesome Pictures! I really wish I could get over there this summer. I was wondering, do you even get wet while on the ride, because the water splashes up behind the train? And is the water still raining down after the turn around when the train crosses back over going up into the break run to soak you? Otherwise it seems like the only purpose is for the viewers, since you can't even see or get wet by the water behind you? -
Personally, I don't think Mantis is too rough. It is a little bit more jerky than chang, particularlly Mantis's second half, but not at all bad. Either way, i'm not a hugh fan of standup coasters. Don't find them that thrilling or spectacular. And can someone explain what exactly it means to black out. I know you like can't see for awhile, but is it just like temporarily passing out, and why does it happen? I'm asuming it's from to much G's. Is hard to comprehend of you've never felt it I guess. Sound's scary.
