  1. Today
  2. Earnings call today was terrible - another bad quarter. The company's goal now is to get smaller as soon as possible and only invest in parks that get visited the most and bring strong profit to the company. Looks like STL will be on the "crap we can't buy anything list"
  3. There's plan A, plan B and then "oh crap we can't buy anything".
  4. Yesterday
  5. Again things can be "planned" and then for whatever reason not come to fruition. So both things could be true; that there are 5 year plans AND that they won't all happen.
  6. And I get all that, but to be fair I don't think it is so much we are flat out lying to you as much as plans and executing those plans are not always sympatico. While something like the sign is annoying to many of us, I guarantee you if you asked people in the park about it on any given day 90% of them wouldn't have even noticed but will be aware of improvements/problems inside the park. Not an excuse, the sign should be fixed, but perhaps an explanation on priorities. No rose colored glasses here though, I am well aware these things may or may not happen. As I said, just staying positive.
  7. Sure do wish they'd say when they expect to open. I'm trying to plan a spring break trip and this would be perfect!
  8. Hey y'all, I'm making spring break plans and flights to Mexico are insane. Dollywood opens the week my kids (8,6,3) will be out of school so I figured might as well drive 14 hours and check out it! My questions are how is spring break time crowd wise? We're looking at staying at a Dollywood hotel to take advantage of the perks if it's worth it. Any recommendations on hotel or other things to do in the area? Thanks
  9. I'm not counting out Superman. It still has a chance at being moved within the chain or to a different park.

  12. Wow - been one+ years, huh? Anyway.... This email was just received - "Win Sushi Contest for October" ... Which informed me, I had just won their Monthly Party Sushi Tray! And I had till the end of November, to order ahead, and then pickup. Here's the link to their tray selections. https://www.fujiya.ca/online-store/Sushi-Trays-c118086120 It's an awesome display of sushi love. A sushi party! Why not? This is the tray I am considering getting. With pairs of Nigiri, a California Roll, and three kinds of Maki.
  13. Since it is now post-haunt season I would assume the park will be pretty empty. If you're there at opening head to Dare Devil Dive first as it is a very slow moving line. In the event it is busy they do have single use flash pass available for purchase if you don't want to spring for a full day flash pass. Also do not skip Monster Mansion. Disney level dark ride.
  14. Hey everyone - Taking my first trip to Atlanta this weekend. Any tips for seeing this park the right way or rookie mistake to avoid? Also, open to suggestions for other attractions in the area that are unusual, spooky, historical (no slavery / confederate stuff please), or scenic. Planning to see the aquarium, don't care about the Coca Cola museum.
  15. I am hoping to be very wrong about the relocations for the coasters. I really think the spinning mouse and the kiddie coaster are the only ones moved within the chain and maybe the only one moved period. I could see Firebird or the SLC going to somewhere random like Brazil, I guess, but I wouldn't bet on it. The woodies are done. Superman is too big both in terms of cost to move and trying to fit the footprint anywhere. Nothing with an LIM launch is getting moved in 2025, nor is a Vekoma Flying Dutchman. Sad days ahead as these all get scrapped.
  16. Did people see the video of the person climbing the batwing lift hill?
  17. Too early to start 2026 addition discussions?
  18. Sad to see it close for good. I can't wait to hear some news about what gets relocated. I really hope and would think Superman gets relocated, but with the high price for scrap metal right now, anything is possible. Sadly the 2 woodies are doomed . So sad.
  19. At least the park's final day went better than Valleyfair's last day of the season on Saturday night. They deserved that, at least.
  20. Disney has announced that a fourth hotel will be built at the Shanghai Disney Resort, and it will have its own entrance to Shanghai Disneyland! https://shcorporate.shanghaidisneyresort.com/en/category/press-room-en Shanghai Disney Resort today announced the development of a fourth themed resort hotel, located immediately adjacent to the entrance to Shanghai Disneyland, which upon completion will be a gateway for its guests to begin their magical Disney Park experience. The new development plan will also include new shopping and dining experiences, allowing resort guests to have extended Disney experiences in the retail, dining and entertainment district located just outside the theme park. These exciting new projects add to the expansion already underway at the resort, including the development of a third themed hotel on the south shore of Wishing Star Lake, a ninth themed land at Shanghai Disneyland and a major expansion of the park’s iconic Soaring Over the Horizon attraction. The resort’s ongoing expansion and development efforts are fueled by growing demand from guests and fans from across China and around the world, as evidenced by Shanghai Disneyland’s latest milestone, welcoming its 100 millionth theme park guest since its Grand Opening. “Guest experience is at the heart of everything we do. By blending creativity, innovation and storytelling, we continue to design and deliver new, unique experiences in true Disney style,” said Andrew Bolstein, President and General Manager of Shanghai Disney Resort. “Our latest expansion plans stand as compelling testaments to this commitment. The new hotel will become another important touchpoint of our holistic resort offering, and with the additional shopping and dining experiences, we will provide our guests with a vibrant, comprehensive vacation experience with even more dynamic options.” Continuous resort expansion to further enrich guest experience The expansion will transform the area next to the Main Entrance of Shanghai Disneyland into Shanghai Disney Resort’s fourth themed hotel. Located just a few steps away from the theme park’s Main Entrance, the brand-new hotel will become the closest Disney hotel to the park, welcoming guests into a premium destination infused with Disney stories and imagination. It will feature unprecedented immersive storytelling experiences in a way that Disney uniquely brings to life. As part of the expansion, a host of fresh and innovative shopping, dining and entertainment offerings will accompany the development of the fourth hotel, reinventing our guest experience with a new holistic resort experience. As one of the highlights of the expansion, a new Disney shopping destination, similar to the World of Disney Store that is located on the opposite side of the theme park’s Main Entrance, will immerse guests in Disney’s unique shopping experience, allowing guests to have access to the resort’s exclusive merchandise without entering the park. The fourth hotel will be the latest addition to join Shanghai Disney Resort’s other three themed hotels, including Shanghai Disneyland Hotel, Toy Story Hotel, and the third hotel that is currently under construction, providing even more accommodation and leisure options when guests plan their Disney vacation at Shanghai Disney Resort. The resort’s third themed hotel is currently under construction on the south side of Wishing Star Lake, adjacent to Shanghai Disneyland Hotel. This nine-floor deluxe hotel is currently undergoing interior fit-out and façade installation. Inspired by Shanghai’s unique architectural legacy, the hotel will be designed and decorated in the Art Nouveau style while incorporating the resort’s guiding principle of “authentically Disney and distinctly Chinese,” offering guests an immersive themed accommodation experience. When completed, the third themed hotel will feature rooms with extraordinary views of Shanghai Disneyland, and new recreational amenities and programs, including an outdoor pool and indoor pavilion pool.
  21. I was there from opening to around 5:50, having gotten off Wild One as my final ride at the park around 5:20 after a 2-hour-and-18-minue (!) wait for front row. After grabbing a few photos and videos, I went over to catch the curtain call for the final stunt show. I'll reserve my comments about this park in general out of respect to the locals, but it was sad, especially seeing the show staff pour their hearts into the final performances (which I saw and recorded for the Steam Heist stunt show and the Half-Dead High dance show) and the speeches they gave at the end. My only rides of the day were Roar (8 minute wait for front row, right at opening, and it wasn't terrible), the Capital Railways train, Pirate's Flight (hoping this rare flat makes its way back to KD), and Wild One. I thought about going back to Superman after the Wild One ride, but seeing what happened I'm glad I didn't. I honestly didn't set foot on the far side of Wild One even once today. I did to go the park back in May when the closure was announced and got rides on Wild One, Superman, Joker's Jinx, the SLC formerly known as Mind Eraser, Ragin' Cajun and the kiddie coaster (the last two were my only missing credits here), so I was satisfied with my visit tonight. I was even able to score what might have been the last piece of SFA-branded merch in the place at the end of the night (a picture frame with a broken desk stand)! Full report coming eventually.
  22. Not sure if you stayed till closing, but I guess the day ended in the most unsurprising way possible. I was watching someone's live stream and they showed the last rides on Roar, the SLC, Ragin Cajun, and Joker. They walked up to Wild One and it still had a sizeable line so they filmed themselves walking out. Was sad to watch. Then not too long after, reports started hitting Twitter about Superman getting stuck on the lift and evac'd, and they just dumped the entire 2 hour line and that would be the final curtain call for SFA. No surprises here. I would've easily gone to Wild One for last ride if I were there tonight.
  23. I'm getting ready to leave for SFA. I'll be wearing a medium blue "Women Love Coasters" zip-up hoodie, grey jeans and white sneakers with rainbow laces. If you see me come say hi!
  24. Queue Times was showing some pretty insane lines tonight. Superman upwards of 2 hours. Wild One well over an hour. Doesn't help that everything is on one train. Glad I went last weekend when it was still manageable crowd wise. Guessing tomorrow will be even more busy.
