I was confusing EPR as an acronym for Enchanted Parks. I thought Innovative Attractions was the FL company but apparently that is the former name of what is now Enchanted Parks? Hope I have that straight. Aanyway I was just looking for reasons they went after these specific parks since 4 of them are clustered somewhat regionally. If it is true that they wanted SFSTL specifically then it implies that SF had some flexibility on what they were willing to sell, not necessarily a fixed list. Just curious how it all came down.

Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

https://themeparkreview.com/forum/topic/5520-six-flags-st-louis-sfstl-discussion-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1927238

After all of that work they put into that damed carousel ….

Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

https://themeparkreview.com/forum/topic/5520-six-flags-st-louis-sfstl-discussion-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1927237

Is this The crown jewel though? You do realize that one of the other parks that SFEC sold, Valleyfair, was the "Fair" part of the Cedar Fair name, right? This sale didn't pick sides.

You should look on the bright side; if the park wasn't sold to EnPark, there's a good likelihood it would have just been closed SFA-style.

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

https://themeparkreview.com/forum/topic/31266-holiday-world-hw-discussion-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1927233

Ha, ha yeah we do!!

Six Flags Great Adventure (SFGAdv) Discussion Thread

https://themeparkreview.com/forum/topic/30190-six-flags-great-adventure-sfgadv-discussion-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1927232

Oof. So they are saying we are a lower tier park with no potential. Way to dis us on the way out like Kroenke did to St. Louis when he moved the Rams to LA.

With the 2026 gold passes we got last summer we had the all park admission perk. We used them at Cedar Point in September, and will likely again this coming September. (There is an e-sports tournament at the Kalahari in Sandusky we attend, and will likely continue to attend for the next few years.) So finally a nice perk we could take advantage of, and its gone after this year.

As Kim pointed out, SFSTL is a legacy park. One of only three actually built by Six Flags. No doubt the former Cedar Fair management who now run the show don't give a shit about legacy. I've been going to the park since it opened in 1971. It was our Disneyland. We were a family of seven with modest means, so our annual trip to Six Flags was kind of our summer vacation. I had season passes the summers between 7th & 8th grades, and 8th grand and high school, and practically lived at the park. As an adult our family has had season passes since 2005. Despite the park's flaws chronicaled here over the years, we supported the park and felt a certain pride of having our own theme park here in St Louis, a short drive away. Just like we used to have our own airline (TWA), our own aero-space company (McDonnell-Douglas), our own major brewery (AB), and more, it just seems like we are losing another piece of St. Louis by being cast off by Six Flags to some unknown start up. It feels like a pretty hard kick in the shins.

Will we give the new operators a chance in 2027? Maybe. We'll have to see what they do with the prices, what the plan is, and if they really do value us as their crown jewel and invest in our park accordingly.

For this year it appears the same and as stated above kind of a moot point now, lol. The NEW question is will they allow you to move the membership to a new home park in the SF chain or is that now the end of memberships for many people. And will those of us whose home parks are no more even find it worth while to keep the membership?

Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

https://themeparkreview.com/forum/topic/5520-six-flags-st-louis-sfstl-discussion-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1927225

Well I guess deep down we all kinda knew it was coming. It's one of those things that are shocking but at the same time not surprising at all. Nothing to do but think happy thoughts and adopt a wait and see stance. IF it's true that it was considered the "crown jewell" (I saw that too) then theoretically it should be a good thing as it would be at the top tier of investment. Of course we have no idea how much the new company has for investment or what the quality of that investment will be. I really don't care about the DC theming but if they can't use it for Justice League they will have to basically have a whole new ride. Same ride system and track but essentially an all new ride. Maybe that will end up being the first "new" attraction. Curious to see if they honor ACE Coaster Con, in 2027 it was already announced that it would be held at SDC and SFSTL.

I think this might say more about the shape SF is in than anything else. If they were willing to let one of their original parks go, one that has always been reported as being profitable, then they might be in more trouble than anyone really thought. On the other hand if you live near MM or GAdv or CP or any of the parks still in the SF chain you are probably relatively happy as it should mean, again theoretically, that they will have more investment for those parks. If nothing else it will be interesting to see how it turns out over the next few years.

Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

https://themeparkreview.com/forum/topic/5520-six-flags-st-louis-sfstl-discussion-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1927224

Allow me to introduce: removepaywall.com Option 3 tends to always work for me, but sometimes you need to archive the page you're looking for yourself.

Six Flags Darien Lake (SFDL) Discussion Thread

https://themeparkreview.com/forum/topic/28135-six-flags-darien-lake-sfdl-discussion-thread/?do=findComment&comment=1927223

I agree. SF wanted DL back and I believe an option to purchase was part of the original lease agreement IIRC. It would not suprise me one bit if they did outright buy it. As has been stated many times DL has multiple revenue streams. Also if the premise was to exit from the EPR lease, why send SFA "parts" to DL. Also, I was thinking about the low sale price for the 7 Enchanted parks, possibly being tied into a DL sale to SF. A new ownership group has officially acquired Splash Kingdom Wild West in Hudson Oaks and announced plans for a comprehensive revitalization of the property. The park will operate under a new name, Canyon Springs, marking the beginning of a renewed vision and long-term investment in the facility.

The ownership group has partnered with P2:3 Consulting, a Texas-based waterpark operations firm, to oversee park management and guide the revitalization process. The focus of this partnership is operational excellence, facility improvements, and elevating the overall guest experience.

“This is an exciting new chapter for our park and for Hudson Oaks,” said Zulema Cano, General Manager of Canyon Springs. “Our team is committed to creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment where families can make lasting summer memories. We are focused on thoughtful improvements and delivering a consistent experience our guests can trust.”

Johnny Blevins, CEO of P2:3 Consulting, emphasized that the work will extend beyond surface-level upgrades.

“Revitalization is not just about new paint or new signage,” said Blevins. “It requires clear operational standards, disciplined leadership, and a long-term commitment to guest experience. Our team is focused on building a strong operational foundation that will support Canyon Springs for years to come.”

	Planned Improvements

The Canyon Springs revitalization will include:

Upgrades to existing attractions and infrastructure

 Facility enhancements and visual improvements

 Implementation of strengthened operational standards

Guest service training and improved service systems

New attractions and experiences to be announced

While guests will notice visual improvements, much of the work will focus on strengthening the operational foundation of the park to ensure a cleaner, safer, and more consistent experience.

	Season Passes Will Be Honored

All valid 2026 Splash Kingdom Wild West season passes will be honored according to their original terms.

“We want our passholders to feel confident in this transition,” said Cano. “Existing season passes remain valid, and we are committed to making this process smooth for our families.”
