Meteornotes
OK, got home last night, and am leaving again for a writer's conference tomorrow morning, so I don't have a lot of time to post anything right now, so detailed commentary will have to wait. Mary and I had an awesome time, visited a bunch of new parks, and got to ride Balder again (about 30 rides or so)! In short, the trip kicked much ass. Hope some people were occasionally amused or entertained by me. Sorry I didn't lose a limb like so many were looking forward to happening. For those I freaked out (I know of at least one person), all I can say is that Mary has to put up with me every damn day, so be thankful you're not her! Nicole rules. She is my favorite new person. Even if I did have to threaten to put an axe into her skull at one point. And Derek and I almost broke her a couple of hours later. But we had an awesome time with her and Derek for most of the trip. Thanks Robb & Elissa for all your hard work. I don't think a lot of people realize how much work goes into these things, and this trip often went well beyond what anyone thought would happen (Blackpool and Liseberg especially). Loved the extra stuff, especially the pillows, which came in handy on the bus and on planes, though we didn't need them on the flight back, as we got upgraded to business class! Woo! I still think Elissa owes me something, though, since I came through the trip injury free. You guys ended up using more bandages than I did, which is pretty rare... dt

What an amazing trip. Big thanks to Lou, Chris, Aussie A$$holes, and Jeff for letting this old guy hang with the COOL people. I had a blast. Thunder Coaster....I want my DMB hat back!!! Louise
^ Haha, I was just going to post pretty much the same thing! Yeah Daron, Jeff has an extra three (hundred) years on you, you were one of the young uns! We had so much fun with you, even if Elissa hated us by the end of the trip... Yeah, whatever happened to them... No, the spitting lesbians were hot, but... They spat! As did all the men! We have Norwegian members, right? Why did people spit so much?! Unfortunately its not a very uncommon sight in Norway. I cant give you any answers to why it is like that, but it feels a bit embarrasing that it seems that the spitting is what made the biggest impression on you in Norway. Sorry, I should have made it clearer that this isn't something that really made a huge impression on me or affected my opinion of Norway or its inhabitants, it was just something that was noticeable as it is so different from what I'm used to, and seemed worth commenting on. If I'm honest, I really don't have a very strong view on Norway, as we were only in the country for just a few hours, all of which were spent inside a theme park! The employees were very pleasant, the park tied with Thorpe for the number of queue jumpers, the food was expensive, and the countryside and views were some of the most beautiful I've ever seen... Apart from that, I know nothing! I'll come back and visit for a week sometime, see how I feel then.

TheStig
^Oh yeah, well you missed all the USA crazyness that went on here. You'd be so jealous if you knew what kind of stuff went on here. Heres a recap: 1. Some kid fell off a ferris wheel 2. Zippin Pippin went for $2,500 3. The Astrodome decided to open a theme park 4. You missed a giant TPR sob-fest when the updates didnt come soon enough 5. Some kids building a 40 foot tall K'Nex coaster and last but not least 6. Everybody picked on a stupid brittish kid on YouTube.com for posting a SheiKra that Robb made. Even Jo and that other idiot showed up! I know, your wishing you didnt go on that trip so bad right now... Colin C

TheStig
^Okay, I thought it was a actuialy park, my bad. But just think about it, football field turned FEMA victim center turned carnival. Sounds like fun! Colin C
larrygator
Cameron - there were plenty of pinball machines at Liseberg, Casey took some pictures for you Regarding Norway - the spitting did stand out, unfortunately it is a bad habit of mine also. The other odd thing about Norway was the number of kids/teenagers disregarding the garbage pails. People were blantantly dropping their drink bottles and cups over the fences, Although the park staff was constantly trying to clean up after these offenders. OldJJman
What is worse - being bummed that its over, or not going on the trip? That's what I thought. Shut up! At least we didn't suffer any paper cuts while we were gone! (Well, maybe Elissa did - You should see the size of the "Book") BTW- it's not quite over. Yesterday, Linnanmäki. Today, Särkänniemi. Tomorrow--never mind. You get the point. JJ

djrappa
Well the Aussie A$$holes have made it back to A$$hole land... it's raining... how does that work??? Best news is the lovely customs people let us KEEP OUT BALDER HAMMERS!!!! So happy. The trip was too awesome for words, Robb and Elissa did a more amazing job than anyone could possibly imagine, and it really was the people that made the trip so great. Can't wait for the future trips. See you all soon... my turn to go get all depressed now
Louise
^ It's raining because I'm not there and the sun has apparently been following me these past few weeks. Forget the fudging hammer, did they let you keep the coasters?!
cfc
^I didn't score a hammer, but I still have my wee bottle of Balder booze, along with plenty of photos and memories. A-w-w-w-w . . . Crushing, work-related reality come Monday. A-g-g-g-h-h-h-h!
nev
Coaster and hammers are all through Aussie customs.... yay! Wrapped up our trip with a day in London (thanks Bill for the AvenueQ pointer - I laughed till I could laugh no more) and a whirlwind sightseeing trip before flying out on Thursday lunchtime. Got a chance to look at the lovely Heathrow tarmac for a scenic THREE HOURS while they bolted bits of our plane back together, and Clint and I just got off the plane after enduring just over 20hrs of traveling.... so once again to all you whinging yankees going on about your 8hr flights - spare a thought for us down under! Had an absolute ball... best holiday ever thanks to an awesome bunch of people that I won't forget anytime soon.... I have new friends who i'm definitely going to make an effort to see before the next trips and everyone on the bus was great in their own ways. I've never had so much fun on a trip before and I hope this is the start of a great tradition. Will collate my thoughts for a trip report soon... but cheers to everyone, and never forget that the Aussie A$$Holes will be back....
