P. 799: NightFlight Expedition announced for 2026!

Looks like a zero-g roll more than anything. Doesn't necessarily mean it's the record-breaker, but I don't think a massive zero-g roll would have the same visual impact as a massive loop. Also, one thing I didn't think of, how would the supports work for a wing rider that went through a normal vertical loop? Seems like it would be a tad complicated to make that work.

That being said, this could be one of those "lopsided" loops (much like the first loop on Olympia Looping, and to an extent, Tennessee Tornado's loop). Widening the sides of the loop would make it easier for the trains to get through. We'll find out Monday!

^^^I just unlocked that on the site. Cool!

^^Can you have a 0G roll on a Wingrider? Seems to me that based on the concept alone that 0Gs would be difficult to achieve due to the shape of the cars? Much like a heartline roll would be difficult to achieve for both sides of the wing. Perhaps it could be done to one side at a time during the roll? Meh, I'm over thinking this. It does look like some sort of flippy floppy element. That's what we should call it. A flippy floppy element.

I'm leaning more towards this as well. Pun not intended.

The second half of Maverick"s horseshoe seems like a zero g roll to me. I think the clue could be the humongus Zero-G that I wanted after the drop. I can't see a good way to support a loop for a WR.

If they can support an immelmann for a dive machine, they can support a vertical loop here. It's not that hard. The track just needs to move far enough laterally to avoid the opposing entrance/exit track. And supports can be worked from there - ever seen a Premier spaghetti bowl?

Here is one of Hanno's photos of Raptor which looks like it could possibly be our mystery loop. I just don't know how that could be the world's tallest unless they are using the terrain somehow.

I was just thinking about something.

If we are in fact going to see the tallest inversion in the world on this coaster. Is it possible the first two clues Dollywood released were the dive loop off of the lift? (Swarm and X-Flight style drop?)

If it is, that could easily be the record setting inversion because you only need the lift hill and the slight decent into the inversion, and it kind of makes sense. All shall be revealed on September 4th though!

While I would imagine that Dollywood's B&M will likely feature some of the same elements as X-Flight (diving drop, zero-g, etc), I have a funny feeling that the size and scope will be significantly larger. My prediction is that the Sept 4th announcement will be one of the most eagerly anticipated new coasters of 2012 and blow everyone away.

I found that funny as well. Would Dollywood fans be happy with a ride similar to X-Flight?

I'd be happy with lunch and some cinnamon bread at Dollywood, so a ride similar to X-Flight is just icing.

It will not be similar. X-Flight has a compact layout, while Dollywood's will be much more spreadout. Just look at the area that is under construction right now. It starts at Wilderness Pass and goes all the way to where the railroad crosses Timber Canyon.
