coasterdude5 Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 I'm at the park now. They finally added LR's second train. Hopefully that will bring the 80-minute wait down a bit. MM and FCE being down probably isn't helping.
STDog Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Still 4 minutes between LR trains though. But it is still running. 40 min wait. BF and FCE running again.
coasterdude5 Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 ^ Every dispatch delay I've seen since it opened (ok, most) has been caused by someone who refused to accept that they were too large to ride. I wonder if required test seat checks would be worth the extra effort...
Djwadeknox Posted April 1, 2017 Posted April 1, 2017 Are you ready to see the view from the top of drop line at Dollywood??? I got permission from one of the folks at Dollywood that took these pictures today from the top! ENJOY! Look at that view!!! I see mountains Is that lightning rod over there!!! Looks like the mine! More wild eagle and mystery mine Look lights! ThunderHead looks a little small Long way down!

I wonder if required test seat checks would be worth the extra effort... Profiling certain guests based on appearance to use the test seat is a very slippery slope these days. To avoid a whole mess of legal issues, they would have to test seat every guest entering the queue line. However, a strong periodic announcement or a prominently displayed sign could very strongly recommend that guests use the test seat because the restraints that may not accommodate guests of larger size. Unfortunately, without stopped every guest to be test seated, there will be the occasional guest that is unable to be accommodated by the restraints which can slow down operations.
Philrad71 Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Wow...some great views from up there. A great addition for sure!
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 So, I have been to Dollywood four times in my life, and it's a great park. But, because of my weight, I have never been able to ride Mystery Mine. Well, today I finally got on it after a lot of hard work and losing weight!!! It's an awful ride... LOLOL
coasterbill Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Great photos!!! It's an awful ride... LOLOL I'll pretend I didn't hear that

Seriously though, I've had some good rides on it in the past, but it can be really brutal in a bad seat on a bad train.
nannerdw Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Yeah, you've got to ride it defensively. Tennessee Tornado on the other hand, still as smooth as ever Lightning Rod's bump at the bottom of the drop has been smoothed out as well.
Canobie Coaster Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 The second half of Mystery Mine is perfectly smooth, but the first half had some headbanging transitions. I was able to have a comfortable ride by leaning my head forwards since I'm used to doing that for Untamed.

It is definitely the one ride at the park I am okay with not riding at all in a season unless I am with someone that hasn't been on it or really wants to ride it.
I Like Theme Parks. Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Wow, I knew Mystery Mine didn't get enough love, but I had no idea this many people didn't like it at all.
LukeFlynn Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 I like Mystery Mine in the second row only, the front row is a serious head banger for me. It's the only coaster at Dollywood that gives me a headache.
dstephe9 Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 I stopped in today at Dollywood. Setting here at Ms Lillians now enjoying chicken! Fairly busy day Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 I did like it haha. It was just a bit jerky. Also, all day today Lightning Rod was closed. Then, at 4pm it opened and I got my frist ride on it. It's sooooo much fun! What a great ride at a park I would have never expected it at.
Djwadeknox Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 It is busy today. Have you asked if they plan on extra hour this evening?
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 I have not. But their app says the parks closes at 7. It's ok, we got at least one ride! We're in line again now though. Anyone have any suggestions for good food in the area for after the park? Thanks!

Anyone have any suggestions for good food in the area for after the park? Thanks! Mamas Farmhouse is a home style restaurant and it awesome. It right off the parkway and open till 8pm. The banana pudding is so good you would smack your mama! Edited April 2, 2017 by Djwadeknox
dstephe9 Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 It's busy but not like the busy when they extend hours.. Lot F isn't even full but as of now, no extended hours for today Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
nannerdw Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Sitar if you like Indian food. Old Mill is good, but usually has a long wait to get in.
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 Does anyone know what this used to be? A ride or something?
dstephe9 Posted April 2, 2017 Posted April 2, 2017 It was a fun house way before Dollywood.. It was then Dolly's museum.. it's actually attached to the cave underneath it which was part of the fun house as well Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
