SharkTums Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 It was super easy! They have a 'T9 Word' option for the keyboard so it makes typing quite easy. I'm a little bummed you can't play our streaming videos. Anyone know what's going on with being able to play videos or downloading stuff?
Blazen_AZN Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 im posting from my wii right now youtube gave me the same message about not having flash this morning but its working again now.us
PhishyBrewer Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 The Opera web browser should be active in a few hours! How do you get Opera for the Wii??? I haven't had my Wii connected to wi-fi in weeks. Is it automatic update??? Sorry about the other thread I posted.
DeliriumTrigger Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 ^You have to go to WiiShop channel and once it's connected, go to "WiiWare." It's a free download. You should probably manually update (via the settings menus) to get the forecast channel as well, if you haven't connected in weeks.
PhishyBrewer Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 ^Thanks!!! I'm going to do that now. BTW... I bought Super Swing Golf today. It's a pretty bad ass Japanese pop-culture kind of golf game. Very cool!
Angry_Gumball Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I can now play Duck Hunt flash style correctly... and posting this message on my Wii.
PhishyBrewer Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Posting frommy Wii. I need a bigger tv to read this small print.
QuakerOaties Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 ugh, I really wish I had a Wii. I'd go hunt one down, but I'm not sure if my parents managed to find me one for Christmas. Mark "Never thought he'd want to buy another video game system!" Luskus
man Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 It was super easy! They have a 'T9 Word' option for the keyboard so it makes typing quite easy. I'm a little bummed you can't play our streaming videos. Anyone know what's going on with being able to play videos or downloading stuff? Well I think they wont let us download things because then people could probably make some kind of way to do bad things to wii with easy download mods (example fake file which destroys wii, stolen stuff) so they probably are going to disable downloads till they have a way to make sure none of that happens. As for streaming video im guessing thats one of the features in the full version that they dont have in this.
rcoasters Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 My friend watched videos on youtube with his Wii and he said it worked fine. Isn't youtube like streaming ?
CoasterDude211 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I am getting a Wii for Christmas but I can't find the knunchuck controller. I know it comes with one but I want one for multiplayer purposes. Does anyone know if and what games require only the main controller? Any help would be appreciated!
Wes Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I don't know why they don't just package the Wiimote and Nunchuck together. My friend watched videos on youtube with his Wii and he said it worked fine. Isn't youtube like streaming ? Youtube is Flash Video based, which is a little different than streaming a WMV or MPG file.
man Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I don't know why they don't just package the Wiimote and Nunchuck together. because if some people just want a wiimote (for like wiisports or THDJ) then they can get it for cheaper and then get nunchucks later. Although they should add them also packaged together.
DeliriumTrigger Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I suppose the other reason they aren't packaged together is in the case that one breaks, you don't have to spend extra and buy both. But I do agree with Man. They should be sold together in addition to being sold separately.

spaminacan11 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Ok, I am getting a Wii for Christmas, but I do not have a wireless router. I was thinking about buying the Nintendo USB Wifi thing. Does anybody else have one of those? If so, how does it work for you?
SuperGreek1562 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I have the USB connector. It works good, easy to install and connect with the Wii. But for me it did not connect good from my computer to my upstiars tv. I got only one bar for reception. But when i moved it to the downstairs one i have two to three bars all the time.

Golfie Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 CoD3 - Still in wrapper, no real desire to play Tony Hawk - Unwrapped, but still unplayed...not really into skateboarding games Well, if you haven't shipped my DVD's yet, you could just toss them into the package!
disneyfan1313 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 The link below is an interesting video of some guys who are playing the Wii in a movie theater with a homemade sensor bar. Biggest. Screen. Ever.
robbalvey Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 I'm kinda hoping that the wireless sensor bar is something Nintendo makes available in the future. We don't personally need one, but I've heard a lot of people say that since they have a home theater system, it makes it difficult to hook up their Wii since all the equipment is in a different area than their screen. Nice video, though! That's awesome!
