SharkTums Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Kiefer Sutherland! We were putting on a Special Olympics event at a local restaurant and he just happened to be there. He was nice enough to make a small donation and take a picture with me. (See I knew there's a reason I always carry my camera now!) I thought he actually looked pretty good in person as opposed to a lot of celebrities I've seen that obviously need their hair and makeup team! He was on his way to the 24 set to film some night stuff up here in Santa Clarita. See, now here's a reason to do Volunteer Work!!!
SharkTums Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 Still not as cool as... Living in California is weird...
Fatality Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 ^^ Psh, California is awesome!! =P Awesome Pics Elissa. But where's Robb ?
sfmmFREAK Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 my bro is in special olympics, *elissa going up a peg in my book*
SharkTums Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 Robb was/is at work! Technically I was at work also! (Actually I was off the clock volunteering at the time!)
Shockwave Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 How cool is that! Great photo Elissa! I wanna go watch The Lost Boys right now!
Fatality Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Robb was/is at work! Technically I was at work also! (Actually I was off the clock volunteering at the time!) Ooh, yeah. Robb working for games. Lost is an awesome show btw.
Erik Johnson Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Yeah Mr. Sutherland certainly has had a good career so far. Longetivity from Stand By Me, Lost Boys, and now 24. Plus his dad designed SFMM's Viper, well according to Space Cowboys he did. Yeah I had to throw in that little bit of coaster geekdom in there...sorry.
Nrthwnd Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Gotta love them Canadian actors, hmm? (Well, he used to be Canadian. May hold dual citizenship. Like father, etc. etc.)
DerekRx Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Awesome! Looks like Jack does get time to eat and use the bathroom while trying to save America in a day!
mrfreeze6 Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Elissa you are so lucky. 24 is my favorite show of all time (look at the avatar ).
cfc Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Cool. My one celebrity interaction was showing Mel Blanc where to find the men's room at the Cal Poly student union (and was that ever a long time ago).
dougr Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Gotta love them Canadian actors, hmm? (Well, he used to be Canadian. May hold dual citizenship. Like father, etc. etc.) His grandfather was Tommy Douglas, former premier of Saskatchewan. He's basically the reason Canadians have public health care (he grew up poor and almost lost a leg to amputation). I am named after Tommy Douglas-I was born a few days before the Saskatchewan doctor's strike.
pagemaster_b Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 The only celeb I've met was Jon Heder. But that was way before he did that awful "Napolean Dynamite" movie. He's not that good of an actor and he's every bit the dork in real life. (His dad is my doctor.) You're lucky, Elissa. Kiefer Sutherland is one of many actors and actress I'd like to meet.
BelizeIt Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Elissa the Celebrity Stalker! (I mean Fan) She's always ready with her digital camera. I remember Mr. Sutherland from the movie "Stand By Me" A great film! I've never had the chance to watch 24, though I know it's a popular show. Elissa, our Female Temptress from TPR, always seems to be at the right place at the right time! More power to you! Get those Celebrity photos!
CHROMEDOME Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Damn your so lucky...I would have had him yell at me. "DAMMNIT WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME!!!!!"
SharkTums Posted February 24, 2006 Author Posted February 24, 2006 ^LOL, if I only had my video camera!
Hattuchili Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 That is so cool, you met Kiefer Sutherland. I am so jealous, Elissa! --Sören
Meteornotes Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 That is so cool. As many people as Jack Bauer has killed on that show, you'd think there would be less traffic in LA... dt
RBOrrell Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Kiefer Sutherland attended St. Andrew's College in the town that I live in (Aurora, Ontario). This college is a military academy type of high school. He got married at it (second marriage). Interestingly, this college has served as the location for a couple of movies. The Disney Channel movie "Cadet Kelly" and "Cheaper by the Dozen II" were filmed there. Both had Hilary Duff. Can you tell I have a "tween" girl in the house. Speaking of famous people..... In October of last year, a new family moved in to the house next to mine. They seemed like a nice couple wioth two dogs and a 2 year old son. We got to know them and they are nice. Fast forward to Boxing Day 2005 (the day after Christmas). I was out shovelling the 6 inches of snow that fell the day before. Shovelling snow is something of a social event in our neighbourhood because you normally don't see as much of the neighbours as during the warmer months. So, from the house with the new neighbours, came out a guy and his son - not the people that live there - obviously someone visiting and there was rental company vehicle in the driveway. He was taking the kid (about 3 years old) for a sled ride and he came by and I said "good morning". He says "good morning" and introduces himself as the brother of the woman who lives in the house. Says his name is Eric McCormack. THE Eric McCormack from "Will and Grace". Now I don't watch the show but he seemed like a nice guy. His son (born in LA) had never seen snow before.
SonOfBeastSucks Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 See, now here's a reason to do Volunteer Work!!! I'm sure I will see a lot of celebrities when I volunteer at the Indianapolis Zoo!
tngdiablo Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 Does Kiefer Sutherland ever smile? He's kinda got that "you point that camera at me for two more seconds and I am going to break all of your fingers off and then pistol whip you unless you give me valuable information about the disapperance of my daughter" look.
smells_like_team_disney Posted February 26, 2006 Posted February 26, 2006 I wanna go watch The Lost Boys right now! Ahhh, one of the BEST vampire movies ever made (along with Interview with the Vampire and Nosferatu, IMHO ). The only "celebrity" I've ever met was a pre-The Fast and the Furious Vin Deisel on a TWA flight from Puerto Rico. He was really cool back then, but I hear he's a jerk now.
