coasterfreak11 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I get my report card back on Friday, but I'm pretty sure I still have straight A's!! Woo!! Number one in my class!
SharkTums Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Wow, when did the grading scale change?!?! When I went to school it was: 94 - 100 = A 85 - 93 = B 78 - 84 = C 65 - 77 = D 64 & Below = F
Homer Posted January 4, 2006 Author Posted January 4, 2006 ^I think in 2001, Florida changed its grading scales to what a majority of colleges use (to ease confusion between the grade school/college grades). A LOT easier too... 90-100= A 80-89= B 70-79= C 60-69= D 0-60= F
tinkerbell Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Well I don't know what my exam grades are since we don't take them until February 1st-3rd (end of 1st semester). But my progress report grades were: Geometry: A P.E.: A English I: A Biology: A French II: A Art I: A Hopefully they have remained the same.
Slacking Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I think it mainly depends on where you went to school. 1 district I was in it was the way you posted it Elissa (94+ = A), but the district I moved to when in 8th grade had it as the original poster stated it (90+=A) I personally think its a way for schools to make stduents performance look better than it really is, but thats just me.
WalrusMan Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 When were the grades any different? I've always just known the 60/70/80/90 scale. I've also seen D as 50 - 65 and C from 65 - 70 though, just as a teacher's preferance.
benzo41190 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Contempary Lit.....C- 70% Physics..................D 65% Senior Health........A+98% (all thanks to Super Size Me!) Pre Calc............... B- 81% Band.................... A 95%
SonOfBeastSucks Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I don't get my grades until the 9th, but I am pretty sure I have a B or B+ in Algebra.

Spanish II- B+ Chorus (I know... final in Chorus...)- A Honors Biology- A (was really hard- I was so happy that I got a high A!) Band (I know... final in Band..)- ???? American History- B+ Geometry- ???? Honors English- A? (I'm not real sure.)

MattJackson Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 wow... I don't take them for another 2 weeks... This thread is making me nervous!!
ScOtT k Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Wow, when did the grading scale change?!?! When I went to school it was: 94 - 100 = A 85 - 93 = B 78 - 84 = C 65 - 77 = D 64 & Below = F yeah, that's how it was when I went to school. Strange... kids must be getting dumber.

woah_killa Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 We get exempt from our semester stuff so...I'm good at school and I only had to take Spanish and World History AP...Spanish I prob. got a 100 because it's easy and World History AP is college level dookey so it's hard.
Token Yankee Guy Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I got my Fall Semester grades in and they're great Digital Imaging for the Web: A- Ethics in Media: B+ Digital Video Editing I: B+ American Sign Language: A- Sounds Like Music: A- Term: 3.540 Cumulative: 3.085 2 1/2 years down, 1 1/2 remaining.
tngdiablo Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I got my first semester grades from Chapel Hill last month. Intro to Comp Sci: A English (Comp. and Rhetoric): A- Chemistry Lab: A- Chemistry (Gen. Descrip.): B History (World Since 1945): B- Economics (Micro/Macro): C+ (Glad I'm done with it, evil professor. He was on academic probation for failing too many people) Overall GPA: 3.175 I'm not too disappointed because with Economics it would have been a 3.377 and Economics consumed a large portion of my time. Now it's done and I can move on to next semester which starts next Wednesday. Schedule for that looks like this: Basic Training (Gym Class) MW 6:00-7:50 AM Chemistry 21 MWF 9:00-9:50 AM Comp 114 TR 11:00AM-12:15 PM (Recitation F 11:00-11:50 AM) Language in the USA MWF 12:00-12:50 PM Math 32 (Calculus II) TR 2:00-3:15 PM Chemistry Lab W 1:00-4:50 PM Looks to be an easier semester, however, Math 32 is the most dropped course in the university. Oh joy.
