Our $300 = just over $220 U.S. And we buy a lot of stuff at the beginning of each month. Then make much smaller shopping trips, probably once or twice, the rest of the month. It all works out for us. I usually don't even look at the price, because I'm going to pay what they charge me. Aside from saving maybe a couple bucks and spending more time to drive extra to get the gas, it doesn't really do much to keep track. It's necessary to buy gas if you own a car, either way.
