Hmm, but that's just what you can tell from the concept art, right? I mean, that could be accurate, but then again maybe it's just the fault of the artist. I don't see why they would mess with the banking like that. I guess we'll only be able to tell whether it's been changed or not when they start building it.

I said it over at sftl.net and I'll say it here...

I think the Evil Kneivel theme is kind of cool... very retro. I think they could have a lot of fun with this and go all out - 70s minimalist art - simple lines but a big logo with Knievel's signature red, white and blue color scheme, lots of stars. Make the queue entrance a huge blue star with painted flames around it or something. Have fun with it!

And...

Evel Knievel brings to mind more than just extreme sports (unlike Tony Hawk, which imo is a much sillier name than Evel Knievel). Evel is all about the 70s, think retro, google some info on the era in general. The 70s are coming back bigtime in current pop culture anyway. It all fits, really. The ride looks great, and the themeing could be very unique, FUN, and again -- retro. The EK theme came out of the middle of nowhere and is throwing everybody off, which is a good thing. It's unique. At least it's not another superhero theme. I think you guys are really missing the mark on what this one's really about (aka it's more than just extreme sports or stunts).

Think outside the box people! Have fun with this. The Evel Knievel theme is gonna be 100X better than Tony Hawk at least. If you don't know much about Evel or the 70s, google them. Look at the era.

And btw I still think they should paint it white.

It's not a "fault". There's no banking in that rendering. It's just showing layout.

I just wonder which way the drop will be facing, and how the Moon Cars are gonna interact with it.

The Moon Cars have been removed and will most likely be relocated elsewhere in the park.

The moon cars are indeed staying the same location that were once before. The track is going to get rerouted around and through Evel Knievel...There are going to be some great photo oppurtunites for this coaster with the log flume, Moon cars, train and the pathway all being around the new coaster.

and the award for most well-placed attraction goes too...

really though, I like how Evel Kinevel (sp?) is placed amongst a trove of small rides. There was a motor-car track I saw making one of the boundaries of the ride, and there's also bumper cars and a log flume surrounding it. I think that would make a very nostalgic image, seeing a grandiose wooden coaster amongst a bund of family rides...reminds me of something I would do in RCT3...

I love it. I think the name is so Left Field for Six Flags that I almost want to applaud them for being really unique on this one.

Originally I had heard the name was going to be "Wolverine" to tie in with the X-Men (I think) concept and make it an extension of the D.C. comics area, so when I read the final name, I was/am very happy.

I'll be heading to SFSTL in 2008 for sure.

Thats how I feel about it.

I must admit when I first heard it I was like, "Why on earth did they name it that?" but now I am glad they decided to name it something so out there because it is unique.
