prozach626
I've ridden enough B&M's to know that some are much more enjoyable than others. Some feel like they have no forces. Ever ride Silver Bullet? It's a great looking ride, but it doesn't push you back in your seat or lift you out of it. Batman, Raptor, and Montu have twice the comfortable forces that Silver Bullet and Patriot do. Likewise, Kumba blows both of the B&M floorless Bizarro clones that I have ridden out of the water. Just as Riddler's Revenge and Georgia Scorcher are far better than Manta. B&M makes some of my favorite roller coasters and I love the company. Smooth comfortable rides are what I enjoy the most. However, some of the coasters B&M makes are far more enjoyable than others, due to the forces (positive and negative g forces) you experience. Some of them have great elements, but they leave you feeling like you just watched a POV of a roller coaster, instead of riding one. They went through a period of several years where they manufactured some very bland roller coasters. After you ride enough B&M's, you learn that you some have an amazing layouts (silver bullet especially), but yet a far less than thrilling experience. Many more before me have said the same thing. It took me a while to admit it, because I'm a big B&M fan.
SFZIP
The only part of Boomerang left to be put up is the loop, the cobra roll appears to be done. Superman is being repainted with the same yellow, blue and red colors but the way the ride is being painted appears to be changing since the second piece down from the top which was red is now bright yellow. Since Superman is I think six pieces and then the top piece, it was painted in a 3-2-1 paint scheme going up, so maybe they are just doing a 2-2-2. The new paintball course will likely not be open to the public, but sounds like it will be sort of a private event you can add to a corporate picnics or some other group event that you could maybe add on while at the park, it may be an upcharge attraction for Fright Fest, but doesn't appear to be one for the regular operating season. Millennium_Maverick
I'm not quite sure if this has been discussed on here yet or not, but has anyone else thought about the possibilities of The Boss getting the RMC treatment? The ride itself isn't horrible now, but still, with that structure and terrain setting, it's begging for the Iron Horse treatment. I know that so far, this has only been done to coasters with a little more age, but I think it could really be plausible for the park. I can only imagine how awesome RMC could make the double down drop
BenFreeze
^I think topper track would be a great idea. I loved the Boss in 2011, but this past year it was running quite rough. The layout and setting are amazing, and topper track would turn it into an outstanding coaster as well.
Zcev5454
^ same experience for me. It seems it gets rougher in different places in different years though, and last year the helix was unbearable for my head. I would love to see the second part of the double down fully enclosed in a tunnel, and a topper track treatment would be amazing!
11slataus
No. The Boss is NOT that rough. It has, in my opinion, enough bite to make it a boss! Texas Giant and Rattler were rough. Plus Rattler was boring. Boss is not boring and not rough; it has a great layout! I could MAYBE see Topper track--like others have said, but the Iron Horse would be completely unnecessary in my view. I think RMC's Iron Horse treatment works best on twister style coasters like Texas Giant, so I could see Mean Streak, Twister 2, Cyclone (SFNE), Le Monstre, and Coaster Express being good candidates. CCI's are good enough as is.

Zcev5454
Didn't realize how much over the walkway they actually meant! I hope the fix up that area and do something with the large concrete footers out there in the path.
StLCPfan
WOW! That's not the placement I was seeing for this at all. I figured the cobra roll would be just north of the path there that leads up to the Chicago section of the park, and maybe the very end of the 2 half loops of the cobra roll would be hanging over the path. It looks like they really narrowed the path there, with the supports for the first half loop of the cobra roll at the Rush Street Flyer entrance and the supports for the second half loop of the cobra roll right where you turn left to go up the hill after crossing the train tracks and passing the basketball game. Walking under the cobra roll will be quite the thrill for many. From my memory of that area before, it seems like they went from about 20 foot wide path to maybe 10. XYZ
The colors don't look that great. For those who play RCT2, you know that green and orange don't go well together... Just looking at Boomerang 1 makes me feel sick.

SFZIP
You can use the Google street view http://goo.gl/maps/59Ot5, to look at the area before (they didn't go up the hill past the bumper cars, so you can't move that way), the tall footers at the SkyScreamer side of the cobra roll really stand out (they may be 5 or 6 ft. high, since the ground the ride was built on is not really very level at all). Shortly after the ride was announced, there were markings in front of the break a plate game and around the lift turnaroud of Tidal Wave, which I thought meant that would be where the cobra roll was going to go, but maybe because of all the rock that had to blasted out they may have changed the placement of the ride (maybe the ground wasn't steady enough if the ride was turned more towards Tidal Wave, but I don't really know). StLCPfan
So, looking at the view from your link, somewhere in that area on the left center between where the fence meets at a 90 degree angle and the trashcan on the left a little closer to the camera is where the supports for the second half of the cobra roll (the ones that show the HUGE exposed concrete footer) are. The area just left of the path there at the image's left center is the queue for Rush Street Flyer. The ENTIRE cobra roll goes over the footpath there, and it looks to me from the facebook pics that they had to eliminate the north half of that footpath from the center to the right where the benches in front of the bumper car building were. Zcev5454
^ I'm wondering how congested it will get, especially on busy holidays? I guess we'll see soon enough...
jrkstl
As much as I hate that we've inherited Flashback, I think it looks really great in this spot.

SteveStL
Looks like those large footers will be in the middle of the pathway. Folks can choose to either go under the coaster or around it. ^Agreed. The park is doing a great job at making a Boomerang look nice. Something I would have never expected. All the Rides on the top of the hill appear taller and bigger than they really are. SFSTL has taken advantage of that during the past few years. The Screamin' Eagle looks like a Monster from the Parking Lot, being on the highest point of the park probably adds other 50+ feet to the lift hill from the Parking Lot/ticket booths. ...Same is true for S:TOP & SS
SFZIP
The two large footers at the end of the cobra roll are right against the wooden fencing that was already there, you can't go around the ride at all, only under the cobra roll on your way up the hill towards Superman/Screamin' Eagle. Both of the trains the park received are the two Flashback trains that were at SFOT, at sometime they must have replaced the original train (probably the black/red trim one) with another one of the same trains from another park, which would be the wrapped ad train it was running (I'm still going to guess one of trains is the old Vampire train from SFKK), whichever train the park will be running, is going to need quite a bit of work done to make it look good. SFZIP
You can get paintball information here, it looks like it will be using all of the dump/boneyard area of the park (4 courses). Apparently it will be open for group/private events year around, you can sign up to play at Axis arcade when the park is open (how much to play, I don't know), it is being treated as a lessee/sponsorship attraction and is not being run by Six Flags. Zcev5454
Saw the boomerang for the first time today from the highway, and it is VERY noticeable from the road ( even the cobra roll is visible)!
StlSS
That makes much more sense now, the minute I saw the name. I should be out that way this week might be able to get a picture of the boomerang. Ready for the season to start along with summer this whole winter thing with my line of work is annoying.
