I don't know about stupid, but definitely unpleasant! I ate a whole ball of wasabi for $40 and it was disgusting. I also ate a bite of a burger for $20, which wouldn't be a big deal except I had already been vegetarian for several years by then (and still am).

Do you prefer to fly instead of driving??

Yes, but I like driving too, and usually end up driving for the cheapness and convenience. I drove from California to Ohio so that I could have my car (and cats) at grad school. I'm planning on driving from Ohio to Florida for the same reason, have my car instead of renting a car.
