Has anyone seen progress on the amusement park from the water park? I'm surprised how few updates there has been on that topic. How far into construction is the amusement park portion of it?

Hot off the presses... Silver Comet reopened today!!!!! ???

Curious how it is running, though I'd imagine it would be slower without full trains. it was a fantastic ride back when I was an operator on it and by the end of the day when it warmed up that last turnaround and hill were amazing.

See if you can get 119 rides in one day to beat my record, I'm guessing you probably can!

Also: maybe this thread should be renamed??

Yeah, the coaster is pretty lame. But theyre probably just trying to get as many rides in as possible to get started.

The dark ride is allegedly Flying Witch from Rye Playland.

Any news on the progress with the shuttle loop? Like, how confident are we that it will open next year? Also, are they adding a more larger scale drop tower than the kiddie one they already got?

I can see track pieces from the highway when I drive by, so I presume its going where the old log ride was

How likely is the shuttle loop to open next year tho?

More than zero and less than 101 percent.  No one knows dude.

^Those are fun!  From Americana in Ohio I presume?

According to RCDB, yeah from the old Americana park in Ohio, by way of Kokomo's Family Fun Center in Michigan.

I remember Americana but I was so young so it's a little fuzzy, didn't it have a Western Bar that had actual sawdust? I do remember loving being at Americana though, that much I do know.

Why hasn't this thread been renamed yet?

Anyway, we took our first trip to Niagara Amusement Park on 7/1 to hop on Silver Comet. I'll keep this brief as we didn't do much. First, the open areas of the park look nice with well kept landscaping. There are lots of kids rides when you first walk in running now. The other side of the park past the Old West area where the coaster is remains sparse, but they seem to be working on it. You can't see The Serpent from inside the park except from Silver Comet as far as I could tell, but you could see it from the road and it looks fully constructed from that angle. It is next to the ferris wheel which I thought was supposed to be open but I didn't see a path too. Not that we looked hard as we were just there for the coaster.

Silver Comet is fine. It runs pretty well but those CCI twister layouts just aren't my thing. The operations were more notable than the ride itself. Swarms of kids were just overrunning the thing and crossing into any row they felt like with no awareness of whether people were in line for those rows or not. The ride ops only tried to keep minimal control so it was certainly a different sort of chaos.

A couple other notes:

Bathrooms? As far as we could tell the only bathroom was near the entrance which is pretty awkward. I am assuming there must be another one in the still seemingly closed off area because otherwise this park requires strange backtracking just to pee. Not that it is big, but still. If there is another bathroom anywhere open right now, two different employees didn't know about it when we asked. Or maybe they want to keep it to themselves.

We ate in the Wild West area BBQ spot which brought on two different shows. First were the show of the disgruntled employees. I felt for them as an off the clock employee and the two working the little restaurant ranted back and forth about a lack of hours. We were the only ones in there and they went on and on in full rant mode. One of the employees working also kept coming out and trying to give us more food for free. Boredom? Kindness? Trying to avoid throwing out sides as they aged? I have no idea, but I can definitely say I had never experienced that before.

The second show was the planned one. Well planned by the park. We just happened to still be there eating ice cream when it started so we watched the Old West Shootout story before we left. It was fun and I am glad we did.

That's really it. We will probably be back when or maybe if they get the Zyklon up and running and add the shuttle loop. I am glad to see investment happening in the park and I am definitely curious to see it return to full power in the future.

Today, we are sharing difficult news with the community we have proudly served.

Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World will not open for the 2026 summer season.

Since taking stewardship of this property, we invested significant effort to revive and improve the park. We believed deeply in its potential and worked to preserve a place that has created memories for generations of families.

Throughout this process, our local team worked tirelessly to prepare the park for the upcoming season while continuing to make meaningful improvements across the property. Ultimately, attendance and revenue levels in recent seasons were not sufficient to sustain operating costs and the continued investment required to rebuild the park. Over the off-season, we explored every reasonable path to open this year and worked diligently to find a sustainable way forward. We understand many in the community were seeking updates during that time, and we sincerely appreciate your patience as those efforts continued.

This is not the outcome we wanted, and we know it will be disappointing to many families, employees, and supporters who care deeply about this park.

We are sincerely grateful to every guest who visited, every employee who gave their energy and heart to the operation, and every community member who supported our efforts along the way.

The Grand Island community’s support has always meant a great deal to us, and we still plan to host the July 4th fireworks tradition from the park property, with additional details to be shared soon.

Over the next 30 days, we will personally contact all 2026 Season Passholders to process full refunds. We are committed to completing this as promptly and efficiently as possible.

Thank you for believing in this park and for the memories created here over the years.

Sincerely,

IB Parks & Entertainment

General Announcement

Is Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World opening for the 2026 season?

  • No. Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World will not open for the 2026 summer season.

Why is the park not opening?

  • After extensive efforts to prepare for the season and explore every possible path forward, attendance and revenue levels in recent seasons were not sufficient to sustain the costs of operation and continued investment required to rebuild and operate the park responsibly.

Was the park ready to open?

  • Our local team worked hard throughout the off-season to prepare the property and continue improvements. However, the financial realities of operating the park made opening this season unsustainable.

Is this a permanent closure?

  • At this time, our focus is on responsibly managing this transition and evaluating future opportunities for the property. We will share updates if additional information becomes available.

Has the park been sold?

  • No ownership change has been finalized at this time. We will provide updates if circumstances change.

Why was this decision announced now?

  • We spent the off-season actively evaluating every reasonable option to open for the 2026 season. Once it became clear that opening was not feasible, we made the announcement as soon as possible.

Season Pass Refunds

I purchased a 2026 season pass. Will I receive a refund?

  • Yes. Full refunds will be issued for all 2026 season passes.

Do I need to contact the park to request my refund?

  • No. At this time, no action is required from season passholders.

How will my refund be processed?

  • Where possible, refunds will be returned to the original form of payment used at the time of purchase.

When will I receive my refund?

  • Refunds will be processed over the next 30 days. Depending on your financial institution, it may take additional time for funds to appear in your account after processing.

What if the credit card I used has expired or changed?

  • If additional information is needed to complete your refund, a member of our team will contact you directly.

I purchased multiple passes. Will they be refunded together?

  • Where possible, refunds will be processed according to the original purchase transaction.

Can I transfer my pass to a future season instead of receiving a refund?

  • At this time, refunds are the only option being offered.

What if I do not see my refund after 30 days?

  • Please contact us through the website contact form and our team will assist you.

July 4th Fireworks

Is the July 4th fireworks event still happening?

  • We currently plan to continue the July 4th fireworks tradition from the park property. Additional details will be announced once finalized.

When will fireworks details be shared?

  • Information will be posted on this website and official social media channels once available.

Contact & Updates

How can I reach someone?

  • Please use the website contact form for the fastest response.

Why am I not getting an immediate response?

  • We are currently experiencing a high volume of inquiries and appreciate your patience as our team works to respond as quickly as possible.

Where can I find official updates?

  • Please continue to check this website and our official social media channels for the latest information.

Is there anything else you’d like guests to know?

  • We are sincerely grateful to every guest, employee, passholder, and community member who supported Niagara Amusement Park & Splash World. Thank you for the memories, support, and belief in this special place.
