Fake snow systems are generally like misting fans on crack. Cold cold crack.

I imagine it will just melt away down drains, but perhaps there will be snow drifts and even Harry Potter snowball duels. Very cool.

I am having a hard time understanding why there hasn't been any explanations for the delay. I know the majority of visiters are not consumed with the new ride as we all are, but I think it seems a little distasteful to not make an announcement regarding the problems. There are still many people that are planning their trip to Universal around HRRR opening. Just my opinion. Maybe there is a policy or reason for them keeping quiet?

I just hope they get the problems resolved soon for those that are able to take the journey to Orlando this summer.

Maybe they're not 100% on the issue, if there even is one?

Wait a minute, did I miss something? I must have... heartline roll into the lift? I feel confused...

CTU Agent, I am definitely with you! At least they are building something new. While I will be upset if it does not open prior to my visit in July, I originally didn't plan it around that, and it will be an excuse to revisit sooner than later!

Planning a trip around an unknown opening date can only lead to disappointment. Heck, Universal didn't even give a month, they only said spring of 2009. We just assumed it would be ready by Memorial weekend.

As for no explanation, there could be many reasons for that. They really have no obligations to tell us either way, as long as the ride is safe when it does open. At this point we just have to wait and see.

Incorporating Maverick's unused heartline roll into the lift is gonna take some time, folks. Be patient....

Epic. That would make one heck of a lift.

I do wonder what came up in the construction. But I agree, as long as they have it finished by the end of spring, it's on time. I just hope they don't completely give up on it.

no no no. he was just kidding. he just meant that "maverick took so long because of the heartline roll, so this is why the lift is taking so long". don't be so literal.

^ No, he was being literal. The new lift is Maverick's heartline roll.

Let's hope it clears the reach envelope.

It's true, guys. I wish I could say I was lying, because I'm just as anxious to see this open as you are. I'm planning the second half of my year around a visit to this coaster.

I was reluctant to say anything, but here's what I know. My sister's best friend's boyfriend works as a waiter at an upscale Orlando restaurant. Although he's not a coaster enthusiast, he has a season pass to Universal, so he's familiar with the new coaster being built.

Several weeks ago he was waiting a table with some apparent bigwigs. The table happened to be near his wait station, and he overheard part of the conversation. He relayed to me that one guy asked if there was still time to make a drastic revision to the track layout and still open somewhat on time.

One of the other guys said, "It depends what we're talking about." The first guy answered, "Well, I remembered visiting a park in Pennsylvania last year where this one coaster had a loop thing before the first hill. Is there any way we could 'one-up' that?"

Unfortunately, he had to go to another table and missed the next part, but when he got back to their table, they were laughing about what they could name it. He said one guy was cracking up, saying they could name it the "backstage bone" to go along with the theme.

Now you can take what you want from that, but as coaster enthusiasts, I think you can all agree that Maverick's unused heartline roll makes perfect sense. I mean, it's already red, right? It rolls like the JoJo roll, right? Naturally, the crane can't lift what isn't there, right? I think it's glaringly obvious that they are frantically working around the clock to realign this track part to the lift hill portion.

So folks, I'd expect to see the first twisting lift hill built on Indian burial ground real soon.

That coaster in Penn is Hydra the Revenge at Dorney park. Your typical floorless B&M with a slight drop right out the gate right into a heartline roll.

As for using the Maverick track on this ride who knows what they have planned or what they are up to. Would it even be possible? Is the rail on the track the same size gauge?

This upsets me.

It's possible but they have to make some more modifications to the track, which is why there is a delay right now.

Just reading all these posts and everyone guessing this or that about what is going on is kinda silly. None of us knows whats up with this or that,or why the crane is here and then all of a sudden David Copperfielded right on out of there. Things happen on job sites all the time, expected and unexpected for many different reasons. For now it looks like theres still a lot more in the station work that has to be completed, if the station was complete and sitting for some time with no progress at all on the track then I would start to wonder. Lets see what happens once Mardi Gras is done and over with.
