lake
Keeping to the confidentiality I agreed to, The survey was VERY interesting. Having greatly enjoyed a park that have some of the components mentioned in the survey, I think that SF is going the right direction if they choose to add this attraction. Andrewoplis
Thank you Andrewpolis for the update on Fright Fest! Has anyone done Total Darkness yet? I have three questions... how much does it cost, is it worth the money, and do you think it's too scary for someone who's scared easily in the mazes and doesn't have much Haunt experience? Your very welcome. Total Darkness is a maze that is included with a standard wristband, not an exclusive up charge. Speaking of Fright Fest, I just got back from the event and I have to say, this year was pretty darn good! I didn't take many pictures because my camera doesn't take very good night photos and there was no filming aloud in the mazes so there wasn't much to photograph. But that doesn't mean I can't do a written review! The 2 new scare zones are a very welcome addition although Bloodbath Bayou still remains my favorite. The others were just OK but this one was great, lots of places for the actors to hide as well as it being very dark in that area. Water Work's pad was turned into a little hay bail maze/ character meet and greet for the kids, which was very well done and a great way to use empty space. And the mazes... well, your about to find out right ....now: Massacre Mine- The maze was pretty much the same as last year, but that's not much of a bad thing, because it was good last year and it's good this year too! Since this maze is very switch backy, that means plenty of jump scares, not to mention well themed walls and sets (On Six Flags standards of course) and some great scare actors! Slaughter House Pig Farms- Not much has changed in this maze, which, in Massacre Mine's case, isn't too bad, but I think this one is in need of a bit of change. I really like the concept and the maze it still is really well done, but it would be nice to see some different sets and rooms, mainly in the indoor part. But other than that, this is still one of the best attractions of the the event and is well worth doing. Captain Boat's Shipwreck of Horror- This one was a little weird this year, it started out a bit lame with just black walls and a few simple sets, but then it just pretty much transforms with well decorated walls and some good sets. And the amount of scare actors seemed to increased this year, as well as the length of the maze, so although I think this is one of the "lamer" mazes, it still is pretty good and is quite a bit of fun! Nightmare Manor- WOW, talk about improvements! This is really a maze that keeps getting better every year! The lighting was prefect, light enough to see, but dark enough to still be creepy. And the sets were much bigger and better themed and there were more of them as well, all having some clever but effective scares! Really, this maze keeps getting better every year and I hope that continues for years to come! Scrapyard of the Dead- This is another maze that could use some change, if a maze is good then its cool to kept it around for a few years, but its nice to have some changes, and this maze has been the same for as long as I can remember. Its still a fun maze, good scare actors that really know how to take advantage of their props and surroundings, but it is getting a bit used up and it would be great to have a few more sets or maybe make it a bit longer or something. Total Darkness- I'm not going to lie, I was pretty disappointed with this maze. Now, I LOVE the concept! A very simple maze with little to no sets or theming, its all about scare actors in the pitch black darkness. It seems like there is so much to work with in the dark, hind behind people with out them knowing, easily being able to hide in a corner and scare, etc. But, it seemed like all the actor's really did was just stare at you and maybe a give you a scream, but not to many jump scares or people hiding, which seems like there should be a lot of but I think the problem is that there really isn't much in hid behind besides the darkness it's self. Not a bad maze, but it could be better!
dannyboy13
Just filled out the survey myself.... Gotta say (while keeping confidentiality of course), if they truly go the route that they talked about in the survey, I think that would make for a very unique ride, and one that would definitely attract some attention to the park and be a must ride for most of my trips there. My only worry is the ride that is currently named something similar, though seemingly not as immersive as this potential new ride. How long is this potential new ride going to be? Seems like this could need a lot of construction. Is the existing similarly named ride going to stay, or will it be taken out/partially reused? No matter how they choose to do it, if this potential ride is built, I think it will be a great addition to the park.
SoCalCoasters
The survey randomly choses two of the concepts they have, so it could be that we're all talking about different things.
singemfrc
The survey I took only focused on one specific idea and asked several questions about it.
dannyboy13
My survey only asked specific questions about one concept also. But, if there are more, maybe we really are all talking about different things haha. At least we're all excited, so maybe any of them would be good additions! dannyboy13
not a coaster. If you guess correctly, I'm not breaking confidentiality, right? I can't say exactly what it was, but I can say what it was NOT, right? But yeah, not a coaster.
Tmcdllr
Hmm, interesting. Well then, maybe a flat? If it is a ride and not a coaster, it could be a flat ride since the word "ride" was mentioned, but maybe something else? Also the word "immersive" makes it sound like either a good deal of theming or maybe something that is more of an experience than just a ride. Can't wait to find out! Angry_Gumball
I have a feeling each of us got different concepts presented to us. While I agreed to keep things confidential, I think the subject they gave me would be a welcome addition to the park!
JJnCFL
So far (without breaking confidentiality of course) there are 4 different concepts.. All very interesting indeed...
dannyboy13
more of an experience than just a ride. You're on to something there (at least for the potential ride that I was presented with).
dannyboy13
So far (without breaking confidentiality of course) there are 4 different concepts.. All very interesting indeed... So you've heard of all 4? The confidentiality agreement only mentioned not posting the concepts on another website, but didn't mention anything about sharing them with others privately. Any chance I could get a PM?
JJnCFL
I was actually able to retake the survey tweaking some answers a bit and got more scenarios.

moviemansig
Should the park be more crowded this Saturday or Sunday or should it be about the same? (I know Sunday is the cheerleader event and when I went last year it wasn't crowded, but that could have just been a one-time thing.) Thanks. Rollercoaster Rider
It's odd cause I listed Six Flags Great America and they asked me rides blatantly for your park. Very unique additions.
rdngmikey
The Ride/Attraction/Feature that was given to me did not sound like something that I would like to see added to the park.
dannyboy13
none of the potential new attractions I have heard about were trains.
RAWKIN_coaster38
How do I get on this survey list?
