robbalvey Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 (edited) Hey everyone, check out the photos from yesterday's visit to Haunt: http://www.themeparkreview.com/haunt2005/haunt1.htm Overall, Knott's Haunt event is very good. It's a *HUGE* step above the Six Flags Fright Fest events I've been to, although a notch below Universal's Halloween Horror Nights. That being said, it's a kick ass event and if you're into Halloween stuff at all, you need to go. I won't go into too much of a trip report, but here are some of my thoughts: - Really liked the new maze "13 Axe Murder Manor" - Although my favorite maze was still one from 3 years ago "Hatchet High" - Chipper Show was kind of amusing - Hanging was pretty "meh" and 35 minutes seemed TOO long - At least they killed Mr. Six (poor Mike) - The Log Flume had some decent scares - The Mine Train didn't - Many of the monsters seemed more "playful" than in recent years, which was cool. - Shaker Cans make the event seem "dated" and "low tech" - "WATCH YOUR SPEED!!!" - Ghostrider was the roughest I've ever seen it - XLR8R was still awesome - More hot chicks in the mazes than I've ever seen before! - We only saw one "Slider" the whole night. - When did they change the chicken recipe? It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't the same. - No biscuits. Grrrr. - Four pounds of beans make for a great drive home! - Seems weird that two of the mazes are way out backstage and they walk you by the trash dumpsters and maintenance vehicles to get there. - "Coach Dan Sucks" Ok, that's about it. Thanks to everyone who showed up for the meet, it was a really great night. --Robb Edited October 24, 2005 by robbalvey
Mr.Six Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Nice Photo Update! All of the pictures turned out great it looks like! _six
robbalvey Posted October 15, 2005 Author Posted October 15, 2005 ^ Yes...including the one of you on the log flume!
Nrthwnd Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Great TR - so was it TGIF Jack Daniel's or Knott's Chicken, HMMM? And where the heck was Joey, anyway? Or is this an instant "Find Joseph" kind of game? You people have way too much fun for your own good.
Erik Johnson Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Nice TR, I hope next week is as much of a blast as this was.
Wes Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Awesome photos, though has there ever been a photo of me on this site that hasn't turned out hideous? I'll just blame Robb's camera, not my actual physical repulsiveness.
smells_like_team_disney Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 http://www.themeparkreview.com/haunt2005/haunt63.jpg AAAAAAH! Yes, those are definitely creepy  . I think I'd rather take my chances with the large cock .
dandaman Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 And where the heck was Joey, anyway? Or is this an instant "Find Joseph" kind of game? Joey was the huge pig, remember? We were told chair swings were "temporarily" closed. Hmm..perhaps we'll check back in an hour? So...were they open later?
Token Yankee Guy Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 hahahaha, Monica's face is priceless in that photo. It's the "Get me the hell away from these people" look
dandaman Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Monica? What about Elissa?! Goth/"challenged" Elissa
Jeezus Juice Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Poor Monica got thrust right into nexus of coaster tomfoolery. She was a good sport though and actually was still taking to me by the end of the night. I'm sure me being her ride home had nothing to do with it! (j/k she had a great night too!) That night was awesome, even though I still have a big Robb indentation in my side from the mine ride. Thanks to everyone for coming out, and for NOT calling me "Don Knotts" for playing haunt tour guide! -Don "Afraid of what I just created" Knotts...er, "Haunt Boy" will do.
Hattuchili Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Great photo TR, Robb. It looks like you really had a good time there! It is to sad, that I can not meet you all in Florida, this year! I think you will have a lot of fun there! However, I am waiting for the great pictures. --Sören
Shockwave Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 http://www.themeparkreview.com/haunt2005/haunt63.jpg AAAAAAH! Yes, those are definitely creepy  . I think I'd rather take my chances with the large cock . That just reminded of me of the Family Guy episode where Stewie teleports himself with his teddy in the machine and turns out on the other side as a freak! Looks like you all had a really good time at Knott's! But what is Elissa doing in that photo?
QuakerOaties Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Aww that looked like fun! I wish I could partake in these TPR meetups. Mark "Hmm but then I would have to live in LA. Nevermind..." Luskus
disneygurlz2s Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 I don't do haunted houses, trails, or any other spooky Halloween things because, well, I am just a big, scaredy cat baby. HOWEVER, if the opportunity ever presented itself to go with this bunch, I would go, because I know I would be too busy laughing to be scared! Shari "Looked like a fun night, except for Robb eating all the beans...poor Elissa" Shoufler
Chrissie Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 ^Looooooooooool! Great pics guys! I hope one day I can meet up with u all!
Guy T. Koepp Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I had sooo much fun. I'm going back tonight. I can't wait for Florida. I will then be the judge of which Halloween event is better. Everything over there will be 100% fresh and new to me. So it's up to US/IOA to lose. Two things to add to Robb's list. "Jaguar" has been established as the big cat of coasters. "Silver Bullet" is the kiddie coaster of B&M's Hey Robb, Where are my pics? Guy "Oh, fine, not good enough for the rest of you." Koepp
PhishyBrewer Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Great TR everyone! Looks like fun was had by all.
CoasterCrazy88 Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Great pic TR guys! Looks like you had a great time. It would have been nice to go, but I don't have a pass to KBF. So, where was Joey? Antonio"What is better, KBF haunt or SFMM Fright Fest?"G.
Mr.Six Posted October 17, 2005 Posted October 17, 2005 Joey was in the Asylum Maze in the boiler room. Haunt is way better than Fright Fest IMO. But when you consider that what your getting at SF is free; its not bad. _six
AndCamSS Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 Hey Robb! Corey, Scott, Kyle and I are still waiting for the Dells/SFGAm photos!!! Hav you accidentally skipped over this trip??? Andrew "Haunt looks pretty cool" Hartman
robbalvey Posted October 24, 2005 Author Posted October 24, 2005 Ok, time to unstick this. If you haven't seen our Knott's Haunt photos, check them out here: http://www.themeparkreview.com/haunt2005/haunt1.htm Our Orlando update including Halloween Horror Nights is going up soon! --Robb
