It bugs me when guest try to bring food on the rides! I'm not talking about gum I'm talking about huge bags of chips and pops then get mad at me like I did something.

I hate poorly designed station queues. Namely, when the main queue feeds into the station right at the front or back seat queue. Those seats naturally back up the line, blocking the rest of the queue from getting past and filling in the empty seats. Worse, sometimes the ride ops don't notice it's happening and dispatch the train with multiple empty seats while a long queue still exists.

I hate how in SFDK, the air gates open and when it is open fully, they close. I had a few times where I couldn't go on a ride because the ride ops can't re-open the gates so they just start the ride with empty seats. In CGA and other Cedar Fair parks, the ride ops can control the air gates' movement so they can close it when everyone has boarded and can re-open if there is any problems.

When Ride Ops hollar over the planned announcement. "Welcome back, when the train comes to a com-WELCOME BACK HOW WAS CHOOOO RIDDDEEEE?????!!!! PUSH DOWN AND PULL UP AND YOU'RE OUTTA HERE!"

People dribbling basketballs around the park annoys the hell out of me!

This would be mine as well. At least some parks got smart enough to give out deflated balls instead.

The basketballs are so annoying! What makes it kinda funny is the people that win these act as though they won the best basketball in the world when in reality it is one of the cheapest made basketballs.

^Or that they are the best, absolute greatest godsend to the game of basketball and that gives them the right to either A. dribble the basketball nonstop. B. Show off their "skills" by using the whole midway as a personal court. Or C. Chucking a basketball down the length of the midway to trip as many people as possible.

-Waiting in line behind someone with unbearable B.O.

People who spit on rides

Line jumpers

Annoying teens that think they will die on every ride

The basket balls said many times in this thread

Unbearable slow operations

A park without shade

Dump GP questions (ie does [insert coaster] go upside down when the loop is in front of them)

Slow people (a pet peeve of my in general)

People with no common sense (very common now days sadly )

Slow people (a pet peeve of my in general)

Slow walkers or slow thinkers?

I tend to get annoyed by both.

I really cannot stand slow walkers that travel in packs and take up entire sections of park. It's even worse during halloween events when little girls link arms in fright and take up the entire path allowing no one through!

My 2 cents on the whole "expensive park food" annoyance: parks are within their rights to charge big $ for food however they should at least make sure it's of a decent quality. Disney parks do this well - nothing is cheap but it's usually pretty good.

No backseat waiting.

I don't mind it when parks hold people back from overcrowding the station, but at least let people wait for the back or front. This is coming from a operator/supervisor myself. We believe in holding riders back to prevent the station from overcrowding but we never assign seats unless it's absolutely necessary.

A new one to add to my list of things...

Ride ops who decide to 'make up their own rules' when a sign says otherwise...as in the whole 'must have child with you to ride this.' Why I say they made it up is because the sign clearly did not make any mention of a max height, and I had ridden the coaster dozens of times, even had been part of a TPR takeover on it!

Then there's the ones who complain that Haunt isn't very family friendly. I just want to bonk them in the heads and remind them how much of an idiot they are. Perhaps don't take your kids with you that are obviously too young for the event anyway. No joke, someone complained about the night club dancers in CGA's Club Blood. Hello, it is a night club theme'd maze.

Lastly, there's the idiots who complain because they got wet/you got them wet in a wet zone. I got some dude mad at me as he was just standing in the splash zone (which is outfitted with a line of coin-op water cannons), back facing the nozzles. I decided that this would be an easy target and there were several others walking by. Next thing I know after hitting them, I hear a "Aw...come on, man!" with a pretty mad-looking face. I'm glad I had several other members with me just in case of anything.

On the same visit, a fellow member (rolercstrluvr I believe) nailed someone who decided to be the bright one to pull out their camera...Seriously, you are standing in an area clearly marked as "Splash Zone: you WILL get wet!"

^ With this post you bring up very good points which is why I'm adding lack of common sense to my post above. Complaining about getting wet when he is standing in a soak zone.....

People who stand in front of and blocking the Fastpass entrance waiting for their time slot. Can they just stand back a little so I can get by?

Posted

^For me, it's people who mill around in front of a ride entrance like a bunch of confused goats. Just go in or get outta the way.

Oh I hate that. Especially when people are like "Should I go on, or should I not go on? Hmmm" And than they stand there for 5 minutes right in front of the entrance while the rest of the GP thinks they're in line.

Anyone who slows down dispatch times because they sat on a seatbelt instead of doing it up. Or because they decided to wear their flip-flops on an inverted or floorless coaster.

Also over-zealous ride ops who won't let you ride until that park map is out of your pocket and safely in the storage bin. I mean, safety first but within reason!

It drives me up the wall when parks don't allow you to choose your own row on a coaster. (This doesn't bother me at Disney because they are cycling through insane amounts of people and none of their coasters are intense enough to make much difference where you sit). But If I've waited in line, I want to be able to choose where the hell I sit.

^At every park I've visited where they assign rows if I ask the grouper for a specific row they always allow me to sit in that row.

My pet peeve by FAR are the people that take 5 minutes to put their luggage in the loose article bin. I call it luggage because they bring more into the queue than I pack for a 2 week trip.

Posted

^What I typically do: I usually let one person in our group do "bag duty" as in, putting our bags in the bin. 1 person retrieving our goods vs all 4 of us creates less traffic. If we're going on a ride that one person's going to sit out, they will kindly watch our goods and save us the hassle of the cargo bins.

Another peeve of mine: ride ops and park attendants who make up their own rules. I understand they have a job to do but when I'm being told that no photos are allowed at all inside the park, something is wrong...or when I go on 99% of the rides with no problems wearing my sunglasses (secured with a strap), then get on one (that I've done numerous times) where I'm told to remove them followed by the excuse of "well, guests think they won't lose them and end up losing them anyway..." As far as I know, my home park's policy is that you're fine with glasses as long as you have a strap.

Then you have Six Flags who could care less if you wear glasses on a ride, strap or no strap
