coasterkid124
My answer is still Darien Lake, and that's not even a home park bias. Great Escape, SFA, and SFSTL all could use something new and big. Plus, it's not like they don't have the resources or anything. SFA and SFSTL have RMC options, and Great Escape has been looking to remove Bobsleds for years, The smaller Cedar Fair parks should get a big coaster too. The company just wants to invest in the larger properties at the time though.
Midgetman82
Darien Lake and Six Flags America. Both need new coasters... not hand-me-downs. I would love to see a small intamin prefab at Dorney, but I seriously doubt we'll ever get another wooden coaster (Maintenance says it's too much maintenance, after Dorneys experience with Hercules, I can't blame them.) I think a megalite would be more likely than another wooden coaster. Oh when oh when will a U.S. park buy a megalite? I will move right next door to it. Probably comes down to marketability. It's even difficult to advertise (or convince) Lightning Run as an extreme coaster to certain hard-headed people.
Nwstone
Knots please, weren't they originally supposed to get leviathan? I just love that park for their theming and world class haunt, them getting a Beemer or something would put them up close to the top of the CF parks. MiA KD VF Dorney WoF Knott's The Great Escape La Ronde SFStL SFA SFOG SFOT I would also add California's Great America to that list of CP parks. Yes Gold Striker was a recent and great addition but it and Flight Deck are the only good coasters at the park. Demon is getting rough, Vortex hurts, Psycho Mouse is a wild mouse coaster, Grizzly is really in need of replacement, and its other 2 coasters are kiddie coasters. While I think other parks (*cough Michigan's Adventure *cough) deserve it more, I definitely think that Great America needs a new addition. cwgator
Call me weird but I think Wild Adventures could use a signature coaster. It's one of the closer parks to where I live and have only been once since I moved to FL in '09. It's a nice family park, but really only caters to locals (which may just be their purpose). I completely agree! They added so many coasters in the beginning, but haven't added anything major since Cheetah in 2001, and Cheetah remains the only unique coaster in the park (Viking Voyage is pretty awesome and unique though too IMO). I'm guessing they know they don't need to make that kind of investment and that other cheaper investments have better ROI, but I hope they are planning for a new major coaster at some point, and I hope it is something custom! MiA KD VF Dorney WoF Knott's The Great Escape La Ronde SFStL SFA SFOG SFOT I honestly don't think SFOG needs a new coaster that desperately. It has been a 5 years as of next season, but DDD is a huge hit with the crowd and Goliath is as impressive to people as it was in 2006 really. I hope they do add a coaster soon but I feel like if they didn't for 3 more years, no one would really notice still. Crossing my fingers for something custom that doesn't replace any of the current coasters though! I feel like SFOT could get away with waiting a few more years as well. DarienLaker
My honorable mention for a park that need a new would be little old Martin's Fantasy Island, with the log flume gone and the Ferris wheel to be removed that is going to be some prime real estate for a new roller coaster to complement the Silver Comet and the Crazy Mouse. CanobieFan
The Great Escape, Michigan's Adventure and Dorney Park are screaming for new coasters. Funtown Splashtown U.S.A in Maine could use one. The last one they built was Excalibur a long time ago (minus the wild mouse replacing the Galaxy.) DarienLaker
My vote goes for SFMM and no other SF park. I say that Six Flags Magic Mountain has enough coasters, but if any Six Flags park in my opinion deserves a new coaster, I say Great Escape. LuminousAphid
I'll unashamedly continue to be a fanboy and say... Silverwood! The last coaster they added that wasn't a used Vekoma was Tremors in 1999. in 1999 I'd say if any park "deserves" a new coaster, that long of a wait has to count for something! Technically, their newest coaster was Krazy Koaster in 2014. (2015?) As that is a kiddie coaster, I say Silverwood could use another coaster. The rumored RMC I still think would work well here as they need another inverting coaster and adding another top tier wooden coaster to their line-up would be awesome. VegasBaby
Of the Six Flags park, I would say that SFStl is probably the most deserving of a new coaster. With the announcement of The Joker, SFStl will be the only SF park without a hyper or a RMC (I don't count La Ronde or Great Escape as true SF parks). SFStl got a relocated Boomerang in 2013, but the last new coaster was really American Thunder in 2008. I know it got JL:BFM last year, but it still doesn't have that signature coaster. I think a B&M hyper would be a great fit for the park and really round out their coaster collection. The park has 3 pretty good woodies (love American Thunder!), so I'd choose a hyper over a RMC for them. As for CF parks, I gotta go with Michigan's Adventure. If you ever think your local park has it bad, just remember that this park has it worse. The last coaster at MIA was Geauga Lake's relocated SLC in 2008 but really the last new major coaster was Shivering Timbers in 1998! MIA has been really neglected by CF and maybe the park's revenues don't justify the capital investment of a new coaster. But when I think of a park that really needs a new coaster, MIA springs to the top of the list. Edited October 29, 2015 by VegasBaby
Ed Farmer
MIA has been really neglected by CF and maybe the park's revenues don't justify the capital investment of a new coaster. I think it's more along the lines of the park being a steady, solid performer for CF as it stands, and if it ain't broke... But I agree, they would appear due. KPfan
I'd like to see Kennywood add something new. The added Skyrocket a few years ago which is a fun little coaster and of course there's Phantom and the woodies. I think something suspended or winged would be a fit. They have some unique terrain they could work with.

Darien Lake is in the same boat. Only coaster since Ride of Steel in 99 has been Motocoaster, which is a prototype Zamperla coaster. I love the ride, but I don't really count it as a BIG coaster. It's more of a family ride.
DarienLaker
^It's a shame that the old Six Flags Astroworld Batman stand up coaster was left to rot at Darien Lake. Frankly I would even welcome that old thing as a new coaster at Darien Lake, but there are two problems, Six Flags sold Darien Lake in 2007 and most likely not buying it back and some of the parts for said coaster are missing, most likely have been scrapped. Throwing that much capital into an old stand-up would be crazy. The ride was consistently one of the lowest ranked coasters in polls, and the comfort and ride experience was horrible. Even if ride were salvageable, it wouldn't be worth the costs for repairs, construction, paint, controls, etc. At that price they would get more out of building an entirely new coaster.
