You also get your picture on the screen, if you place in the top three.

Reach for the sky, hombre!

And on the newest version we just played they also singled out the worst person in the room!!!

^^Topper Track uses existing wood layering with steel on top which provides a better ride while at the same time reducing maintenance costs.

i-Box is an entire track replacement complete with cross beams (IE: Texas Giant). This uses most if not all of the rides existing structure.

I get varied opinions on if topper track makes a coaster wood or steel. Which is it?

That's a debate that's as annoying as the "Knott's has no more room to build rides" debate..........

To be honest, I personally don't give a damn what it's classified as, so long as it provides a great ride.

Concrete, since they fill the space between the steel with it.

Actually I'd call it wood because all wood coasters have a strip of steel over the top layer of wood and topper track is effectively just making the steel a bit thicker.

So Toppertrack is just steel on-top of the wood, and i-box is a complete replacement of the old track. Thank you for explaining that, I was confused with the difference.

And I do agree that Toppertrack still makes a coaster wooden.

Nope, where the topper track replaces the top two layers of wood with steel filled with concrete and has the exact same shape as the original wood track. There are quite a few coasters with topper track in only a few places in their layout (Georgia Cyclone, Tremors, and quite a few older CCIs).

Well considering that I think it is a widely shared opinion that Ghostrider's trains were part of the problem of making the coaster so rough it might be nice for an upgrade. Please correct me if I am wrong but this is what I have heard and read many times.

The issue with the PTCs is that they tear up the track more than how the ride, if they are used on all topper track it should be fine since they can't dent steel track very easily although I'd love something with more comfortable lap bars.

^Yes, you're right about Timberliners. Despite the unfortunate and continuing Voyage saga, I'm still completely sold on them, due to their success on Wooden Warrior.

I'd just be worried that Ghostrider's wheels won't fit between the bolts.

I actually don't like the Timberliner trains. reason is they don't adjust for people who are bigger. To compare, the X-Car restraints are the same concept, except they move in and out from the ride separate from the lad 'arm' that closes across your stomach. The timberlinre train is hinged in one spot, and if your a larger person, the arm doesn't really reach across your body.

But, they are still vastly more comfortable then the crappy trains that are used now.

I think Knotts should definitely keep the Pool that perilous used and use it in whatever replaces it, it's the part of the park that actually feels like a "boardwalk" in the section of the park that bears that name. A splashdown element would fit perfectly in the area.
