^What are you talking about, this new system is also free for ALL GUESTS. Perhaps you shouldn't post about hating something you obviously don't know about!

I was told by a fellow coaster friend and a person at school, that went to Disney a few days ago, you now have to pay for it. So I assumed you did, and I didn't bother to look it up. Till now you just mention it. So, sorry about that.

Here. Educate yourself instead of listening to other people who don't know what they are talking about:

Pretty sure if they attempt to implement this at Disneyland there will be rioting and overturned churro carts and stuff. Assholders do not like change.

I'm really excited by all of this, and look forward to trying it the next time I go to WDW.

dt

Haha, I could definitely see the psycho die-hard Disney freaks doing that. It's only a matter of time before the Assholders stage some stupid sit-in protest or something because they get rid of the candy canes, or change the corn dog recipe.

^Were you going to pay him in Turkey Legs or Churros?

Churros. Most definitely. Lol.

I found it! Where is my Churro?

I'm getting more and more impressed with this set up. I have limited time in one park this weekend I can maximize the experience for my co-worker that is with me who has never been. Being able to check out wait times with out having to run across the park will be a huge time saver. Booking a place to eat before entering the park has been a huge plus.

Booking a place to eat before entering the park has been a huge plus.

This is very true, however there's also the problem of how the popular places are booked solid months in advance. Once FP+ goes mainstream, I hope this doesn't become the case for popular/low capacity attractions as well.

One way that Disney could minimize this would be to offer suggestions to the guests when booking. Bringing up lesser known locations and such. But FP+ or not, some locations are just super popular, like Ohana. To get a normal dinner time in peak season, you just have to book in advance. You can still pretty much do same day reservations all the time, you just wont get the normal dinner hours. I really think that with the new, totally integrated My Disney Experience, Disney will be able to move people around in a better way and create a better experience for all. It will just take some time to get the balence.

We have yet to have ANY of the issues that people keep complaining about when it comes to making priority seating reservations. Sure, if you're trying to get Be Our Guest or Le Cellier Steakhouse, or maybe one of the popular character dining meals, you might have more trouble, but that's been the situation FOREVER.

But even still, we managed to get a reservation for Be Our Guest 2 months before our resort stay, and in most cases, if you don't mind eating early or late, you actually have a pretty good chance of getting a walk-in almost anywhere on property if you go right when a restaurant opens for it's meal service.

The issues that most people seem to have is that try to get a reservation for a somewhat popular place, like 3 days in advance, for a huge party of 12, and they aren't willing to split into two tables or eat at off times.

The key to getting reservations at WDW is either book early or be flexible. With those two things in mind, you'll probably get your first or second choice dining option 95% of the time.

Sorry haven't read thru the whole thread so unsure if this has been asked before, is there a plan to roll this out to other parks? From what I have read about it, it seems a major improvement over the last system.

Nothing has been announced. But it will probably go to Disneyland next.

^I'm still hoping for a roll out to Tokyo Disney before March! I'm so spoiled now it will be annoying having to go look at attractions to see the wait time or run all over the park to get fast passes!

Just imagine what MyMagic+ will be like at Tokyo...I'm sure they will find a way to make it even better!

One way that it could get even better is if you could use the same app, sign-in and MagicBand regardless of which resort you go to, international or otherwise!

LOL, I'm sorry to burst your bubble....but Tokyo won't get this for a while.

We'll, Disneyland and WDW are the only two currently you can buy a multi resort pass. And it will be able to work with Magic Band once both resorts have the full roll out.

Has there been any noticeable difference in the stand-by queues moving faster with fastpass + vs the fastpass legacy machines which caused the stand-by queues to crawl? I've dug back several pages and couldn't find an answer (it's possible I missed something). I do like the look of fastpass + and the magic bands as someone who's been going to WDW pretty much once or twice a year most of my life, I am very excited to give it a try on my next trip.

How are other families coming to Disney not totally confused by the whole new system? There seems to be many new rules or things to learn instead of just grabbing a simple paper ticket.

Probably by how they weren't totally confused by the whole paper ticket FastPass system, which in many ways is much more confusing than FP+ looks to be.

Just booked my next WDW trip for May so I've got a little bit of time before I can start making FP+ reservations. The ability to pre-schedule FP times is a great perk. I just hope they open up the availability to more than one park on a given day for us park hopping types soon. Maybe provide another 2 FP times at one other park with purchase of Park Hopper? Wouldn't mind seeing that pop up in the near future as the rollout/testing continues.

Can I ask a not-too-asked question but, what if you don't have a cell phone?

Neither me or my partner do, and we've still never had a real reason to have them.

But still, for this new thing. Are we going to need to actually rent cellphones

and put time on them, for our trip, just for this?

Curious, and need to know for a future tour, possibly.

Unless i'm reading it wrong isn't that what the fast pass + kiosks are for? As a day guest you can go to a fastpass+ kiosk and book up your tickets for the day when you arrive. Otherwise i'm not quite sure what the kiosks are for.

^ Okay, I haven't read everything about the setup for this.

It just sounds daunting to deal with, but then I remember

Fast Passes weren't that easy to get to know, either.

Thankfully, we're not considering a visit to WDW till 2017,

so with it all in place (hopeful) by then, I'm sure it will

be easy to understand and use, for our benefit.

The faster pace of the standby lines has nothing to do with FastPass+. They have been moving much faster for a few months since the system for guests with disabilities has been overhauled and become much more limited.

That completely contradicts everything I've heard every other WDW manager we are friends with say. Including people we know who are working on the system and are making tweaks to the FP availability to help balance wait times. Perhaps this is just what it seems like?

That's the thing. There is absolutely nothing confusing about the system at all. In fact, if you walk around the park you can visually see how many people have the MagicBands, watch people using them, and see people using the app.

The only people who are making a big deal out of it are locals, Passholders, and regulars who are making a much bigger deal out if it than it is.

Seriously, the system is so easy and convenient that if you can't figure it out, you don't deserve to get a FastPass.

Doug has made other posts claiming the woes of Fastpass (old and new) so I wouldn't put too much stock into it.
