Moose Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I guess log flumes are always fun. especially when they have water guns (giant soakers) for the people watching This was at Window of the World during the 2012 China trip At least with purchase of the ponchos we got 6" square "towels" so we could dry off.
arby Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I love log flumes and I love those shots. Great pics as always, Hanno!
beatle11 Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 ^That's Chinese water. I'd probably wear a poncho too.
cfc Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 ^Hell, you should wear a hazmat suit with an oxygen tank.
gerstlaueringvar Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 ^ Or a mini version of the boat of Super Splash at Kijima Kogen?
Hhappy Posted December 12, 2013 Author Posted December 12, 2013 ^ Or a mini version of the boat of Super Splash at Kijima Kogen? Like this one? Dang those boats were not water proof at all skloosh almost looks like they are begging to be released small drip on top
gisco Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Why is the boat enclosed? So you don't get wet!
Mr Stratosphere Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Why is the boat enclosed? They knew Dan was coming.
TPDave Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 I love those things! Totally WTF?!? There's a video of us in one of them, you pretty much get chest slammed on impact
beatle11 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 I love those things! Totally WTF?!? There's a video of us in one of them, you pretty much get chest slammed on impact It's a water ride, but it's not. WTF seems like a good way to describe it.
kidcoaster 2 Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Those are always so funny to see! I wonder how well they would go over here?
gerstlaueringvar Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Yeah! That's what I'm talking about. All Chinese water rides need this kind of boat.
DJeXeL Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Why is the boat enclosed? So you don't get wet! Figured as much but then what's the use of the "water" ride to being with?
gisco Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Why is the boat enclosed? So you don't get wet! Figured as much but then what's the use of the "water" ride to being with? It is so you don't get wet in the cooler months of the year. The cover comes off in the Summer. With the cover you now have a water ride that can be used all year round. Got it?
Hhappy Posted December 14, 2013 Author Posted December 14, 2013 I believe these pictures are from my 2010 visit. Universal Studios Islands of Adventure Harry Potter.. Thinking back about that ride.. once.. never again.. it had been a while since I've felt so sick on a ride..
beatle11 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Great pics again. I'm not really into the whole Harry Potter thing, but they made the area look pretty good.
cfc Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 ^^Forbidden Journey really got my stomach the first time, too. Spider-man is still the best ride at IOA. Great pictures of Potterland, though, Hanno.
Mrlittle Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I'm not a big fan of the Forbidden Journey ride either but I do love the area.
simon8899 Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I think Forbidden Journey is fun and quite family friendly. At Legoland I've seen and felt what you can really do with those Kukas.
MayTheGForceBeWithYou Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 ^Some of those cycles are utterly insane and forceful. I almost thought I popped a blood vessel in my brain at moments!
cfc Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 I think Forbidden Journey is fun and quite family friendly. At Legoland I've seen and felt what you can really do with those Kukas. What gets me is the ride system combined with the videos (just like the old-school simulators in that regard). I prefer the rooms with the physical effects (such as the dragon and the Dementors).
matteocrepaldi Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 Nice photos! I didn't like the Forbbiden Journey, my expectations were a bit different. I admit that the ride system is pretty cool!
Hhappy Posted December 16, 2013 Author Posted December 16, 2013 Time to go back in time (just a tiny bit) PortAventura opened a new coaster a while back.. Shambhala Looking forward to going back to the park and riding a bit more suits enjoying a ride it's big
