tatertot3710 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel - Nitro Wood - El Toro  Hopefully it will change next week when I go to Cedar Point!
MayTheGForceBeWithYou Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Kingda Ka and Son of Beast (the year it opened so it wasn't a death machine yet!) Lucky you, I rode it just before the loop was taken out, and it was hell.
Sportsdude360 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel: Top Thrill Dragster Wood: Son of Beast
HowieP Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel: Top Thrill Wood: Mean Streak  Both at Cedar Point.
davisal771 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Depends on what you count as tall, I've been on Superman Ultimate Escape and Goliath, although S:UE was the old version that didn't go very hihg.
LeeroyBennagins Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel: Superman The Escape [sFMM] the orginal version back in 07. Wood: The Voyage [HW]
JJ728 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel: A tie between TTD and S:EFK (I think TTD might be taller). Wood: Son of Beast, but out of operating coasters, Mean Streak.
funkeymon Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel: Nitro (SFGAdv) Wood: I think its the Great American Scream Machine (SFOG) but I'm not sure...
MayTheGForceBeWithYou Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel: A tie between TTD and S:EFK (I think TTD might be taller). TTD is 5 feet higher then Superman (420 ft vs 415 ft).
JuanSe_Colombia Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel: Superman The Escape (back in 2008) Wood: Gwazi :S
cal1br3tto Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel, shuttle - Superman: The Escape Steel, complete circuit - Titan Wood - Rattler  I love how Titan is still the tallest hypercoaster in North America (counting only true hypercoasters, obviously, and therefore excluding taller coasters that fall into other categories).
mightypotato Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel: Top Thrill Dragster Wood: Voyage  However, once I'm back from the Northeast Trip, it will be Kingda Ka/El Toro.
XYZ Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel: Demon/Flight Deck @ California's Great America Wood: Grizzly @ California's Great America  Yes, I am a coaster enthusiast without that large of a coaster count. For years, I dreamed about going for a week to Ohio just to visit Cedar Point and Kings Island though airfare (live in CA), platinum passes, and hotel rooms are really expensive, though I will go there one day.
harper83087 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel: Top Thrill Dragster Wood: Son of Beast with the loop, but out of the operating coasters is Mean Streak
Cavs Fan Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 Steel is Kingda Ka. Son of Beast without the loop is the tallest when it comes to wooden coasters but after that us El Toro.
KDcoasterMAN Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 I don't want to sound like a broken record so...... Â Â
sspaz1000 Posted July 20, 2011 Posted July 20, 2011 I guess it's Kingda Ka and El Toro for me too. There are benefits to living an hour and a half from the park.
