matteocrepaldi
Nice! I can't wait for next week to see the first pieces of the tophat in place.
themeparkman25
Did anyone ever find out if the plans had been altered?
Vid_w
Well, the NoLimits track we've seen some time ago isn't like the track we see here. It might've been just some mistakes, but I think the immelman thingy/overbank coud not have been mistaken that easily... Otherwise: Of course the plans were altered, they went from B&M mega, to a rocket with a 65m tophat, and now to a rocket witha 55m tophat.
matteocrepaldi
Here's a construction shot from aoutside the park. The top is getting up fast! They should put the top in place by the end of next week.
toniokatun
Top Hat completed : http://it.tinypic.com/view.php?pic=vx27sx&s=5 http://it.tinypic.com/view.php?pic=1p78z4&s=5 http://it.tinypic.com/view.php?pic=8zkvmd&s=5 The 3rd one is the best and on the 2nd one you can see the black train!!! Vid_w
OMG, that was fast! The tophat is looking fantastic, a little smaller than I imagined it, but still fantastic. The thing that boggles me, is the train. Why is there a train on top of it? Are they testing for something allready? Wouldn't it make more sense to wait till it's finished? TPDave
Looks like a pull through. Basically to make sure the safety envelope is big enough. Im liking the tripod supports!
Vid_w
I see... But why aren't they doing it eith that wooden thing, like they did it on KingdaKa? The trains are kinda expensive, for taking a risk with them...?
KPfreak519
What I dont understand is why they are doing a pull through when only the top hat is completed? I thought most parks do it after the whole track is finished?
CreditCrazy
It looks the drop of the Top Hat is going underground...cool
Vid_w
Hmm, I don't think so... IMO it's just going to go under the lauch track, which is a little elevated, but not completely underground...
atem122
Wow this is looking beautiful, that tophat looks really awesome, and unique compared to the usual accelerator tophats, I can't wait to see this in action
matteocrepaldi
More shots of the very first pull through. It's the first time I see trains on site so early in the construction.
Vid_w
I just figured out how they're going to get the trains over teh tophat at only 100kph!
Olov
Those looks like brake fins to me... And I'm only guessing here but they might want to do the pull through on the highest part of the ride now when they have the big cranes available and save some time for later? Vid_w
^It's going to have a LSM launch, that's why they look like brakes on other Intamins... Also, why are there only 2 cars in that train? Surely it will run at least 3, right? They look pretty complete in that video, with those big wheels at the front and in the back...
yankees15
^ I don't know about that. To me it looks like they are brake fins. If you look closley, it appears that there is a silver cylinder under them. This is where the brake fin drops down.
glennborthwick
Thought anyone local to the park would like to know that lo-q have confirmed virtual queue technology for mirabilandia starting april 9th.
Hand 0f Time
An Xcelerator like ride that is much more extended. Good, good. I like how it's turning out.
GeorgeT
I think, this is going to be a great Coaster, but this Tophat looks MUCH smaller than 55 meters. Could it be that they even changed the Heigth of the Coaster ? GeorgeT
matteocrepaldi
It is 55 meters; it just looks smaller because it doesn't have big supports that goes all the way to the top and the those trees are really tall too. Try to look at this picture: http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/8467/1002605.jpg And then look again at this one: http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/404/aaaiei.jpg
Loefet
^It's going to have a LSM launch, that's why they look like brakes on other Intamins... Those are brakes, you can see the pneumatic cylinders to lower them in the track. Also, why are there only 2 cars in that train?Surely it will run at least 3, right? They are doing a pull-through to check clearances of the mechanical aspects of the train and track. Intamin always do this with 2 cars, and when they start the testing then they will run a full train.
GeorgeT
Thank you, Matteocrepaldi, maybe it`s because of the massive track that it looks lower to me. But anyway, this ride will be lovely and hopefully I will soon have the chance to ride it... Greeds to everyone...GeorgeT
matteocrepaldi
I'll try to be at the park as close as possible to opening day (April 9th) to see this beauty myself. Latest rumors from the construction are that the camlback is in place already!
