EpcotLova Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 With Hurricane Katrina about to hit the area in the next day, its safe to say that SFNO probably will be destroyed after its all over. The winds are at 175 mph. Its unbelievable. So pray, light candles, do whatever, im not religious, so I dont care. Lets hope the people that run and work at the place and everyone in that area survive!
Homer Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 (edited) SFNO isn't going anywhere, instead, Six Flags will remarket it as Hurricane Harbor after Katrina. Edited August 28, 2005 by Homer
Guest Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Good luck to those who weren't able to get out. I dealt with Andrew, and that was horrible. This hurricane is much more devastating. I heard on the news this morning that the storm was producing 20 foot tidal surge. The city is protected at only 10 feet. Katie, who says a prayer for all those in the way of the bitch that's gonna hit the shore.
coasterguy618 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I think it will be a category 5 hurricane. SFNO probaly will be destroyed.
Token Yankee Guy Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 LOL, Homer that is great. I can't stop laughing at the talking bubble for bugs bunny.
SLUSHIE Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I like how it says closed Sat and Sun. Like they won't have to fix anything after it passes.
Guy T. Koepp Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 First off I pray everyone in Kat's way remains safe and sound. I hold no ill will to anyone. (Except my first fiance', and she lives in Nashville. So... DEATH TO HER! And if she ever reads this. I have an awesome wife (Who's Hot! Like pornstar HOT!) and TWO BEAUTIFUL Soopergenious kids. So in your face B****!!! Stand me up! FU!!!) With that said... I hate to say this, but the Six Flags Board are probably hoping the park does get destroyed. That way they can write the whole thing off to insurance. Leave it as scrap. And sell off the land. Guy "Stay safe and dry gulf coast. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Except KRISTINE L*** C***** whom I hope dies. Painfully!" Koepp Sorry if I offended anyone. Except KLC. I'm still a litte pissed.
NitroJoeC Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 ^I think that might be the funniest thing I have ever read on a coaster msg board.

SharkTums Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 You rule Guy! Quick, ship everyone's ex's over to New Orleans!
ChrisZer0 Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 *ships the ex GF who looks like courtney love in the face and owes him 500 bucks from the hawaii trip * The Bitch Must Perish In Terabone Parish
Guy T. Koepp Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Thank you all for taking that note in the humorus context that it was intended. However, to justify the rant... She did take me for a 5500$ ring as well as a Toyota Tercel. (I know. A Toyota Tercel? Yeah, but a 10K car for a college grad is quite a hefty price.) Both of which I never got back. F'ing B****! On a serious note. Kat is a brutal one! It is only the 5th recorded Cat5 Hurricane to hit the US. This storm is going to be the costliest disaster to hit the US ever. Please Gulf! Stay safe! Don't pull a Chuck Henry! No video is worth losing your life over. Guy "Glad as hell to be in CA right now." Koepp
Sir Clinksalot Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 You rule Guy! Quick, ship everyone's ex's over to New Orleans! LMFAO!!!

Wow, Guy, I'm divorced, too, but you seem to be a bit more bitter about the experience. 6FNO is right on Lake Ponchartrain, right? I think it might be outside the levee as well. That would be good, as the flooding can get away, unlike the city which is about to become a stinky puddle. 6FG floods all the time, so they should be able to advise their sister park in cleanup and recovery efforts. As for wind damage, that could get messy for buidings, etc, but there is a bit of land to the south to begin knocking down the storm. Good luck, Louisiana! Chris B
Meteornotes Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Quick, ship everyone's ex's over to New Orleans! Best. Idea. EVER! And that's all I'm going to say about that... dt
SonOfBeastSucks Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 I have a friend who lives in Baton Rogue. He says so many cars were on a certain bridge that it collapsed. I hope at least Mega Zeph survives, I suddenly care about riding it
Mind Eraser Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Let the betting begin! Which rides will be left standing after tomorrow? I'm gonna sat Batman The Ride will be standing, and Megazeph will have damage. Oh yeah, those two S&S towers will probably be gone! -kip-
EpcotLova Posted August 29, 2005 Author Posted August 29, 2005 Actually, Six Flags isnt on the lake. They have a man made pond they call a like, its a subsitution for the real thing so they can recreate some old amusement park New Orleans used to have.
CoasterFanatic Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 My money is also on Batman. I think it has the best odds. // I always knew that my girlfriend disliked Six Flags, but now it looks like she may destroy it
M_Force_4_ever Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 ^LMAO yeah Id agree about Batman, hopefully it didnt loose any bolts in the shipment from Japan...in all seriousness however I hope everyone is ok and all turns out at least ok in the area of the hurricane.
Coasterlicious Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 How well do coasters stand up to winds?... You would think they would have building codes for strong winds right?.. ( do you think Dragster or Ka would survive 175mph winds?)
SLUSHIE Posted August 29, 2005 Posted August 29, 2005 Coasters stand up just fine to strong winds. The only damage I see happening is trees and signs and other small, or large, lightweight stuff. Wood coasters, if there are any there, might suffer from some damage tho. WDW has had many hurricanes blow through and there has never been any major damage to anything, except for trees and signs.
