I cant imagine that Robb as business owner, EVER wants to ban anybody. Some people just make it so hard not to.

That is EXACTLY right. We don't go around banning people at random or banning people for no reason. So many people will claim that we do, but that is only because they know DAMN WELL why they were banned from TPR and feel the need to remove the blame from themselves and put it on someone else.

Those are the people who stay banned for life, and I don't want them here. We also have had people banned from the site, take full responsibilty, send me and email with an explanation/apology and are still members today.

Those are the people we want on TPR.

I sincerely appreciate being able to live vicariously through your trips to parks I'll probably never visit in my life. And the slightly warped sense of humor everyone has is just the icing on the cake.

Like someone else said, why do they get so worked up over someone being mean on the internet? Boo hoo. Suck it up guys. If they don't like what you post, Robb, then they don't belong here, and you're absolutely in the right for banning people who cause trouble. No one wants to be around negative people. We're all here to have a good time!

I read the whole thread on their site, it was amazingly amusing.

Hell, i've been here for *SIX YEARS* i joined in mid/late 2005 - it's now 2011

Sure, at times we've butted heads, robb, but like anything we're mature enough to work shit out like adults and just move the hell on - Rather than just throw childish False DMCA's and reports on things on the internet to try and get someone banned over it like a slow-motion directionless version of a 4chan raid

I've been here since 2007, granted I was petrified of the sense of humor here back then. Then I realized that life's too short, and I need to have fun. And I started posting.

It's really sad that people need to tear down other people because they had been idiots previously here. It was no fault but their own that they had been banned.

Out of nearly 34,000 members, you will always ultimately have a few bad apples. From what I've seen, TPR moderation is generally quite strict, but not unfair. That is a very important difference, and one people need to appreciate. Sometimes a dose of reality is a good idea for some people.

Wow, I knew there was a resistance out there against TPR (yes, I know how lame that sounds, that's because it IS that lame), but I never thought they'd do anything about it. I mean, my god, it's easy to handle not being up for this site. I believe it's called "Shut off the computer, go outside, move on with your life".

I mean seriously, what the hell is wrong with some people?

In any event, sorry to hear that happened to you Robb. I'd re-friend you, but the odds of you even knowing who I am (especially considering I've never been to an event) are pretty slim anyway, so best to not add extra work to your plate.

I just don't understand that if what you did really bothered them, why they cannot just leave you alone instead of complaining. Complaining makes everything worse!

I personally love TPR and everyone on it. The humor on this site can always lift my spirits up So I think it's good when the stupid ones weed themselves out and get banned.

Hey Robb--You can take this for what it's worth--I don't always agree with everything "online" Robb Alvey does but in person I've met you and you seem like a fun, nice guy so I take the online stuff I don't like with a grain of salt.

It's the Internet, people. Just a bunch of 1's and 0's. If people are getting so invested in something in a virtual setting then I can only imagine the travesty their real lives are like.

I enjoy the site, the club, and the trips.

Carry on!

Found the thread that started this all (or so it would seem). I won't link to it (I'll let everyone do that on their own), but I would like to say two things:

1. I don't know where things began, or where they will end, but there really needs to be a calm discussion instead of this sniping that seems to be going on. I really don't know all the details, and I won't claim to know everything, but there's an obvious break in communication that seems to really tearing parts of our entire online community apart. I understand that Robb doesn't want some people on his site, and some people want nothing to do with TPR, but this shouldn't escalate like it seems to be these days. I won't pin the blame anywhere, seeing as I'm not involved at all with what seems to be going on, but something or someone is making this worse by the day, and it's really unfortunate.

2. On a similar note, I would like to give credit to Chroniq, who very eloquently and civilly tried to get a handle on the situation on the thread on the other site. It's folks like him who serve as the best envoys for TPR, those who can show that we're not "hateful, spiteful" people, and we don't want all of this division and mis-information slinging to continue. Or, at least, I hope we don't.

It was still really childish of them to attack your Facebook and start that thread, but a part of me can't seem to fathom that they just did this because they're the scum of the earth. Instead, I think that there must be some serious ill-communication that's going on from both sides that really needs to be fixed. For the good of both communities.

(Note: Before anyone responds, keep in mind that this was written from a neutral perspective, and I'm not trying to point any fingers. Please don't take this as a call of revelation, but as simple "thinking out loud". I still love TPR and I still have respect for most, if not all, other communities, and want to see nothing more that calm between them.)

I won't pin the blame anywhere

I will. The blame lies solely in the hands of those who were banned from TPR for legitimate reasons, but instead of being mature about it and either A. Coming to me and apologizing, B. Emailing me an explanation, or C. Taking personal responsibility for ones own actions, they decided to take the route that you saw in that thread.

I, on the other hand, could care less. If those people want to really spent their time bickering about TPR, spending their money to do background checks on Elissa and myself, so be it.

I think it's f**king pathetic, and my reaction isn't going to be getting upset, but instead making fun of them for their actions. They deserve to be made fun of for being so incredible stupid. It's their stupidity that got them banned from this site to begin with, and the more they get their panties wound up over TPR, the more I personally find it laughable and entertaining.

I'm not going to let it frustrate me and annoy me, so I have to be able to laugh about it.

And remember, most importantly, TPR makes more fun of ourselves than we do any other organization. I don't see anyone on "that website I'm not going to mention" posting a picture of themselves with the caption that says "fat boy" on it, but I just did in our cruise ship thread. And I actually did it twice! Because I know I'm not perfect, and I can make fun of myself.

When you start taking life so seriously, you might as well be dead.

Thanks for the nice words...I haven't felt such praise since I got a score of 114 bumper bowling in 7th grade... I've since had three IP addresses banned from that site just for posting that. That is why there is no follow up...

Wes mentioned earlier that the best way to respond to a troll is with no response. I agree with that completely. I also think it shows their true colors by banning me instead of opening up a productive dialogue.

Wow, didn't even know they banned you. And the fact that they did it for that shows that what Robb is saying is right, they truly do stoop down to "bottom of the barrel low".

Also, I appreciate both you and Robb taking my comment the way it was intended. Wasn't trying to re-spark anything, was just trying to share my thoughts on a level ground.

Viva la vida de TPR!

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.... so you mean to tell me they "banned you for no reason???" What a bunch of F**KING HYPOCRITES!

Clearly they are just sad and pathetic people who are jealous because the cool group doesn't want them and they are "too fat to fit on rides."

Thank you TPR for being the "cool kids" in this internet high school musical!

I've got something amazing to show TPR regarding that.. I just need to clear it first....

You told me...it is quite amazing, but there is no sense on giving them any more attention. I still can't believe they did that though. Seriously, that is far worse than anything they are complaining about that TPR has done.

Well, good...it just means that whatever it is we are doing, we're doing something right!

Thank you TPR for your support.

I just heard about this earlier on FB. Sorry to hear this Robb, some people are just douches I guess.

I may not know the story. I do know this though, Robb and Elissa you are both extremely respectable people with honor!. I am shocked that anyone would or could be such butt-holes in life towards you! . The internet it may be, but its just so aggravating when one person or even a small group of people can ruin things for an entire community.

They banned you for just that? It's interesting that they're accusing of Robb of doing that, yet they have no problem doing it themselves. Chroniq, I found your post to be tactful over there; you wern't attacking anyone, you weren't mean or breaking any rules or anything. You just wanted to know why everyone hated Robb.

I became a member to this site a year or two ago and thought about posting there more, but if they're going to be bias about what people believe on their site, then I'm not going to bother with them.

Makes me wonder which site is worse? This site or GLT?

I just read the site and honestly I'm appalled that people who are as much as 20 years older than me could say some of the things they were saying. I'm so happy you are as cool as you are Robb. Fight the good fight! hahah

Seriously? They are, or claim they are, running background checks? That's just nucking futs.

This is the only coaster forum I visit, so I sadly miss all the drama. I'm not really much of a forum person anyway.

Now, since you mentioned gravy in a previous post, I thought I'd share this. Sorry the volume is so low; it was recorded with an iPhone, not a nice Android phone.

I give you Sheldon Newsbury.

Wow... "Tax evasion"? I love how that whole thread escalates from "He's as ass" to "He's a criminal." It honestly surprises me how people on a theme park site can be so extreme. It's not as if this is a competitive world. They're not running trips or have an exclusive club. I find it incredibly juvenile that there are grown people getting this worked up about being banned from a theme park site, going to extreme lengths to trash someone's facebook page. It's ridiculous that they'd harass a webpage that they were let into, as that's just a clear betrayal of trust. It's roller coasters and theme parks! If you don't like the site or find the jokes offensive, Leave! It's not as if there isn't a big disclaimer on the bottom of every single page. You know what you'll get at TPR, and if you don't like that, go. We don't want you here either.

Whenever I hear about these sorts of attacks, I kinda take it personally. Some of the things said in the past, weren't just at Robb, but at the people who follow the site too, claiming we're all goons and groupies. They stop at NO length. I'm sorry Robb, that people not only get at you, but the community you so carefully brought up. You know, some people just don't get it. They're like the ignorant bully who picks on other kids because their level of humor/education/communication skills/comprehension aren't on the same set. There are plenty of people online that I can't stand, but I'm not about to go to such lengths to belittle them let alone their community. If you don't like it, STFU. Don't drag everyone into your sad, broken world.
