Walibi's Halloween host "Eddie the Clown" shared his idea for a new ride:

That is beyond creepy. Just something about clowns..

Love they even have the Huis van vijf zintuigen (house of 5 senses), what is the entrance of the Efteling, on the station as wel. I really do enjoy a good parody.

I never understood the fear of clowns but this image makes me creepy about this one.

Honestly, that concept art looks pretty awesome. I love when parks go the extra mile for storytelling, and having new artwork commissioned for this Halloween event, purely for the sake of the story.

I love the steampunk theme, but I could totally see that clown concept being built just the same.

Beer And Boobs in Walibi!!

Walibi will host a new event this year "Oktoberfest".

The press release translated by google translate (Yes I'm that lazy)

This autumn we can at Walibi Holland serves a classic German beer party. Following the successful annual festival in Munich organize the amusement park for the first time its own Oktoberfest.

In September and October it is for visitors marquees and countless barrels of beer ready. Naturally, also the wrong après skimuziek and traditional German costumes are not lacking. Exact dates and hours are not yet known.

Walibi hopes the Oktoberfest can be just as popular as the Halloween Fright Nights. The horror nights in late October invariably provide for the busiest time of the season. Possibly the cheerful German beer festival a new annual hit.

The theme seems to be a good year to have back: according to a press release from association Club Eleven came in 2014 considerably more guests' than a year earlier. In 2013, Walibi Holland drew 770,000 visitors yet.

^This is full of win.

I wish more parks in the States (that don't have a Halloween event) would do something similar. While I loved Oktoberfest in Columbus Ohio last year, I felt that it was lacking rides and coasters to give it that complete Oktoberfest feel.

Seems weird that they wouldn't have rides and coasters being that they have it on the state fairgrounds where there is more than enough room to make it very similar to the one in Munich.

^^ This is great! I will be at the park on Friday, Sept.11

(or Saturday, Sept.12, depending on their upcoming schedule)

so their Oktoberfest should be (hopeful) rawkin' by then. Awesome!

EDIT to Add: I will be at the park either the Sat.or the Sunday (13) now,

whichever day is (hopeful) less busy, as the park won't be open on Sept.11th.

Question to those who know Wallibi Holland as their home park, or close by...

When do online single day tickets usually go on sale? The site appears

to have already posted their Halloween thing, of which there are already sellouts.

I would rather buy my ticket ahead of arriving, instead of standing in queue, etc.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

On La Grande Roue. And one of my very first Haunted Swing attractions, in WW/H in 2008. And it was great!

Beer and Boobs and Sausages in Walibi!

I'm sorry to tell you but... Canadian Yukon is no more

the whole area from Crazy River to Walibi Playland is now called wild west

Posted

^^ Oh, that's too bad. But - I'll still be there in September!

And I am looking forward to seeing the Wild West area, too.

And heck, I might even try out the new seats on El Condor.

(And... Post #12,000!)

The trains will be made by .... KUMBAK!, (In the Netherlands notorious for the Vliegende Hollander and the Python trains who where replaced in no-time.) Also this SLC is the prototype so yeah it has some rough edges

Posted

Nope! No new trains for Condor... (It is Condor now no El) the new trains are for T2/T3. They are simply being tested in walibi. Walibi is a lot closer to the factory than T2 is

Those Python-trains did last 7 seasons, no? Which is the equivalent of at least ~10 seasons in any other park, with the park being open year-round.

Yes, but if the KumbaK trains are as awesome as everyone says they are, they should be able to last much longer than that, especially considering that the majority of suspended looping coasters, rough as they may be, are still running original Vekoma trains. But we don't really know about the circumstances of why the trains on Python were replaced (or at least I don't), so it could be something else. I'm not a fan of third parties coming in and sticking their own trains on roller coasters (KumbaK > Arkham Asylum, Premier > Goliath) so I'm probably biased.

I love the look of the KumbaK trains, but they seem like a nightmare to clean up.

They do, right? But I also really like how they look. Very stylish.
